I just wanted to mention in case Jeff reads this. I did not log into the game since season one released. When i just logged in a few minutes ago i got bombarded with loads of messages, currencies, all settings reset. Free gifts, more currencies. Ofc more mtx "but this pack" , some more free gifts. No offence but its way too overwhelming and kind of a lot of info. Just my 2 cents. Of also theres now a male voice stating which option is which as a voiceover? What is that about?

I think that’s one of the design flaws of OTL and why it has low replay value.They made it that way to force you to play with friends because those goals make it impossible to complete it alone

The thing about sacrificing a player to climb up there and set a waypoint is true. That's my go-to. But as you said it's supposed to be at least somewhat possible for 1,2,3,4 players. Essentially if you're 1 ~ 2 it's minus one possible objective for a run that is inherently more difficult already due to lack of participants 🤓

Is the list of bugss/known issues meant to just be a selection of priority ones or is it exhaustive?

Reason I ask is there's a few super common ones that aren't mentioned. Namely, being pulled into random parties, Vee locking the game, and the random crash/lockups after completing a challenge in co-op.

These are ones that seem to come up all the time for everyone on here/reddit/youtube and aren't mentioned at all. And they're like the most frustrating bugs 😄

Each week there is a minor update to reset challanges. This week to remove the Rollstice stuff was probably what introduced a new bug

@icy hare that's not an update, just something that happens server-side. crashing is going to be a problem with your game files somewhere. there should be an option to repair if you're on EA launcher, or in the game settings on steam an option to "verify file integrity", give that a try and lemme know if it fixes

it's a live-service game, which means the map and challenges can change on the server without updating the client (you, the player) software. it probably is just a coincidence, there are a lot of bugs in the game still

That's super fair. I've worked dev for ~20 years so totally understand the process - stuff that can't be easily replicated or happens randomly are some of the worst things to try to debug and fix. Oh I just randomly thought of an idea... when talking about settings... I wish we could have a way of saving settings for ourselves, a bunch of EA games do this.

Like, I have a setup I always use for realistic skating 90% of the time.
And I have a setup to do co-op and OTL which just ramps up things like grind assist,and fall height to help.

I accidentally changed my settings from experienced to classic the other day and had to spend like 20 minutes tweaking my settings until it felt right again.

Yeah. It's the low end of norm for sure, but it's not awful.
It had a really viral launch as well, and I think honestly the core people who are gonna play the game... the core audience is gonna be small. Bugs and things haven't helped, like you can't shy away from that (even with the early access title), but it's doing fine. It's probably trending towards what they expect

yeah, it looks like the steeper drop-off might have been around the time of the season 1 launch IIRC which came with a ton of bugs. still, i don't think any of this is outside what EA/Full Circle planned for i.e. the game's not going away just because "only 5k people on steam" or whatever.

just a theory but i think that's part of why the cosmetics are priced the way they are, they're set up for when the casual/curious players eventually take off and they have to sustain the game on the dedicated playerbase. i still think most of them are a bit outlandish though, $10 for digital shoes that cost $80 irl is wacky.
