my best advice, there's a company in the UK called Arbor skateboards, they make some pretty high quality boards and come with ace trucks stock (pretty damn good trucks imo) you can buy an 8.25 or 8.5 version of their complete setups for roughly around £110, sounds like alot of money but will definitely last a long time.
if your budget is tighter go with Santa cruise or enuff.

unfortunately if you're spending under £50 on a skateboard, they're NOT made for legitimate skatepark usage, they're lower quality and will actually make learning to skate harder, it's worth splashing around 60-120 to get yourself something better that'll help rather than diminish

• you're realistically going to need a board that fits you shoe size, cheaper boards are normally like 7.25 or 7.75 which are skinny and harder to balance on for a beginner, a wider board and wider tricks are going to make standing and balancing feel alot easier, around 8-8.5 inches is best, as rough measure, wider your feet are the wider the board, but it's also down to preference.

I've been skating roughly like 5 years but i skate 9.8 inch board with 10 inch trucks it's a monster lol.
for me I'm alot more comfortable on a bigger board as i only really skate transition so it makes stall tricks easier🙏

we don't got zumies in the UK, we don't got any kinda shops LIKE zumies in the UK, only place to get skateboards/skate fashion is at skateshops or indoor skateparks, that or online retailers.

our equivalent of zumies over here is a place called Route One, corporate owned and they keep knocking their prices really low to steal customers from the independent shops, quite a few skateshops around the UK had to close down because of it so every single independent store started rallying together and making " f**k route one " stickers and shirts, was unfortunate but cool at the same time lol

the general rule is shoesize=boardsize, I'm in the UK so:

if you're a size like 6 and under, deck sizes 7 - 7.75, good for kids etc.
if you're size 7-9, deck sizes 8 - 8.7, bigger feet bigger board etc etc.

but there's dudes that are like 5'9+ that skate 7.75s because for flip tricks they flip faster ygm?

I'm only 5'6 and size 8 shoe but i skate a nearly 10 inch deck because that's what i am comfortable on personally for the way i skate

Small bit of feedback on missions, a lot of them are starting to be "do X at Y" (not just Market Mile, but a specific spot or area of it for example). Like the Vault one today.

I think a lot of newer players, or less experienced players come here or reddit asking where those spots are because they're not on the map. You only know where they are if you happen to eventually skate there and see it on the compass - or do enough of them to remember 🙂

something big i did find out was if you start the grind at the left side, you sometimes are able to just hold your grind all the way until you have to go back again without switching lanes. it doesn't happen often, but i think it's due to having the right amount of speed so you automatically make a small jump at the right time that registers as a rail transfer.
this way you at least get to skip one of the infuriating parts lol

What I feel about the hate wagon is the fact that they confuse between "Developers" and "Publishers". They shout "EA! EA!", but they forgot that they're yelling at Full Circle, the developer team.

And honestly, my own opinion for skate. has always been pretty positive. Like Vee's voicelines, the game's direction and tone, even design and style is, to me, pretty damn well made. My thought on skate. being like an MMORPG is pretty much to mirror real life skateboarding culture - one that unintentionally forces people to socialize.

I mean, in real life, random strangers (or fellow skateboarders) would walk up to you and socialize with you, while others would chase you down. That's just the reality. The only thing's missing is the Karens - I wish they exist in skate. to FULLY fulfill the true skate culture 🤣✨

I’ve only had a problem with stickers not showing up during their selection but they display as intended in-game… and this does not happen for all of the stickers in my inventory. Which is quite baffling.

Well... I don't know what's happening, but they seem to be "invisible." They don't appear in the preview or when applied. This happens with the inventory stickers and also the Shop stickers. I've already restored the files and checked about 3 times and nothing. I play on Steam.

this is a known bug.. its related to what version of Nvidia drivers you have, you may have some success in rolling back a version or two.. or you could wait for a patch

Yeah, it's a shame. Spread eagle speed glitch still works though. "Speed Glitcher" title in the game, but patching the speed glitches. 💔

I've been skating for 9 years, and it's the first time I had someone explain to me what a "Beamer" is. I've heard it being thrown around, but I never knew what it meant until Vee explained it - she said it's the kinds of people who looks around everytime they land a trick or two, like those "Pesky Pick-mes". Honestly, really damn fascinating, imo.

My favourite voiceline from her is when she mentions about a "Manny skater who skates with no bushings" (Yes, I know I said it before in this thread, but I'll say it again). She's referencing one of the OG Pro skateboarder, "Daewon Song", who is known for his Manual lines and the fact that he skates without bushings!

I also skate solo, and I find her random, sometimes awkward things like the "Boom shacka lacka" is entertaining - especially when she say things like the SVNews about how there used to be a channel that talks about what's true and what isn't, and she finds it funny. Her "I wonder what happened to them" is, imo, hella adorable

I'd honestly kill for a Vee to randomly throw inputs while I'm skating irl... though it'd be awkward when I'm NOT skating 😅
