Optimizing Skate to run well on mobile devices and look somewhat okay is probably a big challenge in of itself

It doesn't even have the actual different types of challenge icons if you have completed a challenge if its rotating challenge and whatnot, just all around bad, delete it from the game.

Cosmetics could always improve, but keep in mind that the game doesn’t pre-select what options it gives each player based on the gender/sex of the player or which gender skater you pick, so everyone will get a similar set of options and only some people will actually want and use them

EA has taken away a lot of features and additions in Skate from us to slowly release it in the Seasonal updates

This is a super common live service strategy to extend the content lifecycle and keep the updates feeling larger due to more additions being with each update

I'd guess that once things get off the ground with Season 2 and we actually get better gameplay systems, loops, and systems that get people to stay in the game, we'll probably see the player charts stabilize with spikes each update like in Session

The problem with this game's "stunt challenges" or "hall of meat" mode is that there's no real impact
When you are freeskating around, your character slams and falls off their board realistically
However, when you're in the Stunt challenges, you are far more floaty and bounce way more

This means that the slams have no impact to them, you feel like a bouncy ball instead of a real person slamming onto the ground

I think they need to tone up the dramatization of the stunt mode, add slow motion for impacts, increase the sound effects, increase the screenshake

Make it feel like I'm actually "slamming"

From what people have been saying online from their time in the playtests, there are a lot of modes or gameplay mechanics that are completely unpresent in the final, early access launch

It's definitely dripfeeding and staggered content releases

It's a double edged sword, you can extend a game's lifecycle and somewhat extend player retention, but if the content is spaced out too much, and there's not enough at launch (which is Skate's issue) then it'll struggle to keep players interested early on

there was one hedgemont park that had an amazing base floor layout with 45 degree angled sets with euros, aaa i wish i could find a picture of it but thats where i had the most fun in the game. theres was a big down rail rail from the barren top floor section. but you could actually flow around in circles, hit street and transition features, felt natural.

Ive verifyed the game files multiple times, ive reinstalled a couple times, ive even reinstalled javalin becuase sometimes the launches tells me to restart my PC and/or reinstall Javalin. The anti cheat isnt on start up so it only launches with the game. I do meet system minimum requirements, and it has work flawlessly since it came out for me and Ive played it almost everyday since. This issue only started yesterday morning. I didnt get any new hardware or install any new programs either

That's strange to occur randomly. Does it crash without any errors? Maybe something changed under the hood without your knowledge, for instance Win11 doing its thing. Maybe it pushed a new gpu driver that has a compatibility issue or something. If it did, I'd check and roll back the driver manually, if not I'd give EA App a try over Steam

not sure its amplified through speakers but if they emulate the sound stage you might be hearing a more compressed sound with some additional reverb

the environmental sounds, ambience and in general sound design in skate is actually quite good imho

the paid cosmetics fall into two categories for me: fortnite-pilled clown clothing that in no way resembles skate apparel, and clothes that are basically the same as free stuff but with a tiny logo on them or slightly different color. personally wouldn’t spend money on either of those.

They definitely need work on the animations. I get frames where my hood is 4000 ft long in motion. But I still mostly wear the silly face hoodie and would really love to switch to a proper many-colored tie dye one.
