While I agree with your first point that second point isn’t a guarantee 10 years may be the goal but it isn’t definite yes the game isn’t finished but art style and things along those lines are close to set in stone I don’t think they’d let people like zexyzek promote it if it wasn’t their final choice. Them lasting 10 years is based entirely off of the assumption that the live service model will remain popular when I think gaming culture is growing tired of it. That being said I hope they can stick around, I do however agree that a paid game with dlc could’ve been far more successful if skate 3 continued being updated it’d still be popular and people would still buy dlcs to this day. They are banking on the success of this live service model rather than having faith in committed fans. Just my two cents though

We don't know what data they need. I work in development and A/B testing is really important. We can do all the testing with my dev team. Push an update live. And our (new) customers will find application breaking bugs within the first day. Usually it's because we know how the product works and assume it's stable. But then a new person tries it and breaks it within 30 seconds lol

To this point I wanna add that the OG players also have the insight to say what drew us in originally and what we would have had to bring more love to the games as well as improve upon the building blocks that were already there. I understand new players should be accounted for but a dedicated fan base should be prioritised because that way you get fans who appreciate what skate is rather than dividing the fan base between old and new similar to what Hollywood does with their new movies and shows that are just remakes it’s just another way to divide people rather than build upon great communities that are already there

Tbf, we just had a huge update (and trust me, it was substantial) and the release isn't a full 1.0 release, so we'll see the game continued to get updated from then on, I think quite a lot of people are missing that part, as people seem to think the full release is happening rather than an early release

Part of the nature of live service games. We get fed very slowly over the life cycle to keep people coming back for the new thing people are huffing copium thinking launch will be a different game. Happens with every 'beta' and playtest. And every time the launch isn't very different. But people push the same narrative every single time of 'oh its not done yet'

The July 2nd was the biggest and first time we ever got confirmation on any sort of number
Everyone who had been invited from September onward had their access rolled over on July 2nd to be with everyone else

Every single wave before that, players lost access entirely and had to be chosen again

Far far in the future, Witcher 4. Whatever else CDPR is working on. Admittedly, I'm an easy to please gamer and really enjoyed Cyberpunk when it first came out, but I played on PC. Console versions were hit the hardest with bugs. I also didn't get hyped before buying it, I understood after the fact why people were as disappointed as they were.
