As someone who works in the industry, yes it can be spoiled.

Dozens of folks work with as many teams to align on announcements like release dates, reveals, etc.
Through all the hardwork those teams do, the payoff - their moment of celebration - is when they can go to the public, after weeks, months, or years of planning - and share "it's coming... X date."

While it's not a leak in the sense of sharing NDA'd content, at the base level, it's a bit uncool. (not saying you're not cool, Baggy. I got love for ya.)

rumors are more dangerous than you may give them credit for. They set up expectations and if those aren't met, others are the ones that get the hate thrown in their direction. Too many people believe an off handed rumor and then get mad if it ends up not being true. Even if something better is given.

one of the hardest things is having to deal with rumors that have no foundation.
as the brand, if you counter the rumor, you're hiding stuff. and sometimes to squash the rumor, you have to share things you have plans for before their time, resulting in reworking campaigns, etc.
if you don't, it takes root and becomes "fact" (though not one).

and yeah, folks get grumpy when they've believed a rumor and get told it's wrong.

I respectfully disagree. From the recaps on youtube the weight looks perfect to me. In the short clip where they showed different heights on the skater with gameplay clips, i thought it looked even more realistic and heavier than the previous skate game. Okay, if you're unable to sign into your EA account, you won't receive access on the right account for playtesting, so you need to regain access to your account first.
For consoles, we don't just send out a code. Your account also gets an entitlement. And they have to match - so you have to sign into the Playtest portal with the EA account you want to playtest with that has your PSN ID linked or you will have issues if you get invited.

So, first, get access to your account by following those steps in the FAQ. If you need one-to-one help, contact an Advisor.
Next, once you login at https://myaccount.ea.com check Connections to ensure your PSN ID is linked to THAT account.
If ALL that is gravy, then register on skate. Insider with the same account.

Discussing details publicly can lead to warnings, timeouts/mutes, up to removal from the server and possibly removal from playtesting.

I don't want that for anyone, and we know there's a lot of excitement, but mods will have to take action for violations.
