We all want a great skate game, we just don’t want Fortnite with skateboarding.

Whichever way you decide, you’ll find success, I’m sure but I know the game I will play, y’know?

Also, don’t pull a battlefront 2 and riddle the game with horrific gambling. That nonsense literally killed the game on arrival, it never reached the heights it could have. Just treat the player base right.

Full Circle has provided constant updates since 2022 and has stated multiple times that nothing basic (ie. darth vader in BF2) will be locked behind paywalls, its even a sticker in this server!

well, I just tried to get in the door, then figure out what I wanted to do. So I started at Customer Support. Once in, I talked to everyone I could to see what cool things they were doing.

Based on my life experiences and job history (outside of gaming), I leveraged my "chattiness" and computer experience (building PCs since I was 12 in the late 1980s) and then decided I wanted to work with gamers and devs. (some folks stay behind the scenes and are the unsung heroes of the industry, some folks like to create, build, design. One thing I will say is the job market has changed pretty dramatically. Every younger person I've talked to (i.e., in their late 20s to early 30s) has shifted between multiple jobs/careers nowadays. I think company loyalty isn't as valuable as it used to be.

Some jobs require onsite, some a hybrid (with a few days a week in the office) and some are fully remote - based on the job role/description.

There's also internships that EA does yearly for college students that can transition into full employment.

And roles vary from phone support to marketing to QA/QV to legal and everything in between that a big game publisher would need.

Dang, was looking into possibly saving up for RIT ( a college for tech ) In New York as it seems like a very good choice, it could help me get into electronics and help in a large margin of things as such, on top of that the prices aren't horrible, nor would be the debt, of course dependant on what I choose, although I do live in IL which may be an issue.

Yeah, there's been a lot of discussion about that.
In some cases, you may feel like you've plateaued in your career path at a company and the option is to stay there or move to a different company and leverage your experience from your current company to get a higher role/more pay. Then learn there, grow, and go back to the original company.
It happens a lot. The industry - as massive as it is externally - is actually fairly small and most folks know each other through 1-3 connections due to that exact scenario.

Look at Associate roles and what their requirements are.
Honestly, right out of school you won't get hired as a Sr or Director level, so set the expectation that you'll want to secure a junior/associate role (and they generally are 12 month contracts - with an option to convert to full-time employee).

Data is huge - it drives almost every aspect of game design and marketing. So data analysts are key. (User Research)
All the info needs stored somewhere (game analytics and such) so database and data warehouse roles are key.
Broken games are no fun, and QA/QV are critical for the success of a game.
IT is how we live and breathe (in office and remote), so it's super key.

Please know this (and it's not said enough): there is no "game idea role". Like, legit everyone has an idea for a game. But if that's all someone has, that's no where near enough. So if you want to create games, know how to build them.
