I know the physics were RenderWare, which EA acquired from the criterion purchase, but that's just one piece of the puzzle

might just be the whole engine and not just the physics

no clue what today's engine is based on but I'd bet a LOT of the stuff is custom considering there is no modern previous work to build on

honestly I'm glad they're taking their time and spending a lot of it on playtesting - the last thing I want is a new skateboarding game, after many years of not having any good ones, and the feeling's just not there

I joined in 2010, about 4 months after Skate 3 launched. I did work on a few Battlefield games before coming to skate.

And being in the industry for 14 years, a gamer for 35+ - as time has moved forward, games take a lot longer from concept, greenlight (approval to MAKE the game), studio building (need peeps to make games), refining, testing, QA, etc.

It takes less when you're doing a sequel or have the engine from the last one, but when you're starting from scratch (with inspiration from games 10+ years ago), it can take a little bit of time.

Heres what i believe, we saw the textured and shadered little section in the “still working on it trailer”, in multiple vids u see the edge of the map, so as game development has for a long time, full circle must be working in squares with each part of the map etc. Also. I believe full circle is working on textures, but since its a pláytest they arent adding them on to minimize file size for the testers and being able to get the mechanics down for sure. Its like- even tho you got the color of the car u want ready in ur mind (in this case, their private builds) u still need everything to work before it drives.

You can’t put a PS3 disc in a PS4 or PS5 and play it. The PS5 does have a library of emulated digital games available via the subscription which is awesome.
I remember there were a lot of articles about the underlying architecture of the PS3 being the main blocker for the PS4 Jaguar CPU not being powerful enough to emulate from disc.

But just go in knowing that modding will most likely not be supported. And if down the line it is… then great! But if not, you won’t be disappointed.

I’ll go for difficult to pull of flat land tricks etc. so when I do get in a match and others are just doing silly stuff that wasn’t the intended way to be doing it, I just leave.

I live in Southern California, so I have to say "the rain is necessary", but I hate rain 90% of the time.
Grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast - I LOVE thunderstorms because of their power and lightning is cool to watch, but as a motorcycle ride and longboarder, I dislike the rain.

Legit won't move somewhere if it rains more than 20% of the year.
