Lil Story -
My first bike was a Cleveland CycleWerks Ace Deluxe - little orange cafe racer. When we found out we were moving from Austin, Tx. to LA, I was concerned that my lil bike wouldn't be sturdy enough to hit the 405 freeway every day (safely).
So I told my wife "I'm gonna go look at the HD dealership."
2 hours later she called me "What are you doing?" Me: I'll be home soon - with a friend.
Bess & the cafe racer were loaded up in the 26' Uhaul truck 2 weeks later and I drove us across the US to LA. I actually paid Bess off in May - 1 year early. So that monthly payment is now going to "Bess Upgrades Fund." 🙂

I tested the 48 and Iron883. As it was my first "bigger" bike, I went with the Iron (I'm not real tall). Ride height was perfect.

It's in my shed. I'm gonna tear the engine down (haven't started it in 5 years) and replace all the gaskets, seals, and whatnot, replace the drum brake with a disc option, maybe bore out the engine a bit, and then do some custom body work on it. Little project for the next few years.

Hair has always been difficult in games, it's pretty amazing to see how far it's progressed. I have long wavy/curly hair and I accepted a long time ago that it would be too difficult to include in a game on an avatar. But as the technology gets better, it's nice to see it being done more.

Better answer - bad folks like to take popular accounts with good stats, lots of games on the account, etc.
literally had a hacker offer me lots of money for my EA account (I have every game available on Origin plus DLC). It’s usually used to help build cheats - because they don’t care about the account, so they try all their cheats until they get one that works, then toss the account away and use it on their main.

PSA - secure all your accounts. Add two-factor authentication, and regularly change passwords. Be safe.

yeah one of the downsides of releasing on PC is it's easier to do certain things that harm the integrity of the game - especially if the game is F2P and you don't lose a money investment when you get banned for it

that said I have not heard of it being a big problem in, say, Apex Legends, but I don't keep up on that game

anti cheat is very much up to 1. implementation and 2. how much the devs are willing to stay on top of it (for the absolute worst type of example look at Elden Ring whose devs are doing next to nothing to stop cheaters)

I can only hope that the Skate. team is really proactive and does not just slap some non-functioning solution like Easy Anti-Cheat on the game and call it a day

that said I'm gonna also be honest and say I dunno how to feel about people using mods offline, for one thing a lot of people enjoy the fun of messing with games that way but if offline progression can be used to earn things that conflict with the monetization, that's obviously something the team will have to try to make not work

at the same time once you make the game work offline you lose a whole lot of control over what people do with their offline sessions if they try to cheat to make progress and get around the monetization, for this reason as unfortunate as it would be I could see the game being online only, however... I feel like I would much prefer some kind of hybrid system where maybe you can play offline but you have to be online to earn cosmetics or something like that

one thing I would strongly argue in favor of is seamless transition from online to offline mode for people with bad connections - do not go the Dark Souls route of ending the session when there's a connection problem, if someone's internet drops their connection do whatever is possible to keep them in the game if they're in a single player session and maybe just have a popup and that's it

no matter what there will be some bad PR about whatever the team chooses to do about people going offline to shortcut around the monetization, but I would say plan around what's best for players and not what's best for PR, and that seamless transition to offline mode and maybe letting the player attempt to reconnect at any time to seamlessly go back online and resume using the online features, would be the best solution for people with unstable connections

I am definitely foreseeing a lot of hard decisions the team will have to make that will result in people being upset because the alternative would be the game not being able to make any money... and people do not tend to think about things from the dev's point of view when it comes to stuff like this, and like I said the only thing I can hope for is that the dev balances the design around being able to make money + the best player experience, and not being able to make money + PR, because unfortunately there is going to be a point where the latter is a losing battle

yeah if they go with a monetization structure where you can earn anything you could have bought through gameplay they are going to have to be SUPER SUPER CAREFUL about how they balance offline play with that kind of progression... and in the best case to prevent cheaters the best I can imagine is "you can play the game offline but to earn stuff you need to connect to the internet" and stopping people from cheating the part they do offline will involve some tricky problem solving

but like I said whereas most devs throw up their hands and make it always online or make it boot you from the game as soon as there's a connection problem, I would love for Full Circle to set a new standard for live service games on unstable connections where having your connection drop is not as much of a big deal

the simplest solution is you have to be online while doing the missions to earn the cosmetics and seamless transitions to offline play when the connection drops... this is the best compromise because it completely removes the possibility of cheating to earn cosmetics while allowing people with bad connections to actually play the game. However it definitely will make some people unhappy about not being able to earn cosmetics offline.

Like other parts of the live service model that people hate, or that makes people in certain situations not be able to play the game, this is a good opportunity for the team to set a new standard, but there is no perfect solution to this problem as far as I can see, just compromises that are better than the way live service games currently do it

unfortunately as soon as something like "you can't earn cosmetics offline" drops people will lose it and not look at it from the dev's perspective of "someone figuring out how to cheat to earn cosmetics offline destroys our entire monetization structure and we can't risk that"

I hope they get someone running PR who is as transparent and honest as the team is in general because when PR tries to spin something people see right through it

when the team makes a hard decision like this they need someone on PR that will not try to buzzword their way out of it and instead state the exact reasoning that the team had to make the decision

a lot of companies underestimate your average gamer's ability to completely see through a PR explanation that is dishonest

you never see PR say something like "we hear you but we needed to make a compromise because the game needs to make money for us to be able to maintain it" they usually say something like "we are doing x unfortunate thing to maintain the quality of the player experience / the integrity of the game / etc." and no one falls for that when it's clear why the decision was made

coming out and say "yeah we'd like to do x but in situation y that leads to the game failing to make money and we can't" would actually be refreshing from a PR team

in the end I guess what I would say for the team is "do what's best for players" and part of that equation is the game being able to make money so the team can maintain it and continue to release content

and if "what's best for players" is at the front of their mind at all times that will hopefully keep them from running into the traps of greed that people are always afraid of happening with F2P games

every thing that people are afraid of with F2P games stops some type of person from playing the game - online only stops people with unstable connections from playing it, gambling aspects stops people with impulse control issues and reward-first personalities from playing it, FOMO stops people with impulse control issues and risk-first personalities from playing it, etc.
