The money goes into the fund, and when runway is short, the core contributors and founders are paid for with the money in the fund.

So, he basically put the money he earned back into the project, and then earns it again. Basically he worked for the Illuvitars then right? And it takes a load off the treasury's expenses.

All revenue, 100% in most cases, while for certain Merch stuff it is profit, goes to the staked ILV tokenholders.

Anyone who stakes ILV for at least one month will gain revenue distribution! The founders are basically big ILV holders who are employed by the project but also own a bunch of ILV tokens. They are just like you and me, but then get a salary for all the work they do + own a larger portion of the ILV tokens.
If you want to be on the same level and gain similar revenue distribution, just buy more ILV than them! 60$ a piece currently!

The backgrounds wont be taken into account or you would get an auction with 15 Alpha Blazing rhamphyres, and then taking into consideration the colors it would be like 101 Blazing rhamphyres. Now who would be excited about that.

Claiming Rewards

When you stake ILV in yield farming, rewards will start accumulating for you. However, you'll need to manually claim these rewards and pay for the GAS fees of these transactions.

You can choose to claim the rewards whenever the pile is big enough to justify the gas fees. If you claim sILV2, it will be unlocked right away and can be used in-game as a substitute currency for ETH outside the marketplace and the Leviathan Arena. If you claim ILV, that batch of ILV will be locked for 12 months and automatically staked in the ILV pool with a token weight of 2.0 for compounding effects. And the process starts over again with new rewards accumulating.

Please note that ILV paid out as part of Illuvium’s Revenue Distribution must also be claimed, but they are not subject to a locking period.

I guess we have to wait and see, it's mostly speculation at the moment. But there are lots of collectors of Pokemon cards, Magic cards, postage stamps etc, who blow tons of money on their collections. And all those lack a worldwide leaderboard with weekly prizes that you can show off to anyone. Also, players with smaller budgets can still collect many albums, you could even just focus on tier 0s and have lots of fun for years, with the variety we have here, not to mention the future card game if that goes through. I believe in the power of gamification and the human psychology of collecting things. It could also be possible for Illuvials to take focus away from Illuvitars, of course, but a lot can be managed with incentives. Interesting future for sure 🙂

I opened roughly 180 (100 normal) and got 500K points. I think i could push through to 800K if i bonded all of my accessories to my Illuvitars. But imo that would ruin my collection since i barely have strong accessories. But bonding already increases your power by minimum of 1.6x
