Land is for the game Illuvium: Zero and landowners will actually be able to play the private alpha for Illuvium: Zero starting in January 2023 (see pinned messages in #1023666069061247116).

The Illuvitars themselves are the profile picture project for Illuvium BUT there will also be an "albums" feature. Collecting all of the Illuvitars for different collections will get you different rewards.

since there is 150 illuvials that will have their own illuvitar and batch 1 of the illuvitars is 25 of the 150.... and you mentioning that the team has said the illuvitars will be available for 6 months......I wonder if each batch will just be available for one month?
that would be 25 illuvitars dropped/available in d1sk per month for 6 months equaling 150 illuvitars after 6 months..

I think that would be a bad idea. For starters, the ratio of prices, if they were that, would be catastrophic. They need to be roughly 1:5.

Secondly, the sale runs for a while and people will be able to trade with each other. You're talking around pokemon level price, even though pokemon have none of the customisable features, AND they print far higher quantities of pokemon.

I don't get to decide the price but I don't think I'd be happy if they were significantly reduced. As for what is the BEST price? 🤷‍♂️

In most CCGs everyone can get a deck but the rarest cards are most valuable. For $20 / $100 for a single card, not everyone can get a deck (album).

There was definitely a price adjustment and major configuration adjustment to what a d1sk is from initial Illuvitar discussions to what is on the website today. I've been an advocate for consumer research pricing study, but I haven't had much traction for that. Given all the feedback and discussions, pricing feels reasonable for an initial launch. Price can be adjusted in the future, and my bias is to have the first series of Illuvitars priced on the edge of being too high, and then adjust down. Very likely this will be the smallest batch in terms of unit sales, and scarcity will be a significant value factor long term. There are some other factors that impact pricing, but I can also see evaluating the first series sales and adjusting price down if necessary in the future. All of this is subject to community feedback and proposals, of course.

No idea. It's possible this has been considered and there's plans in the works, that stuff is above my paygrade! I'm just speaking as someone on the art team, and each new accessory is a massive investment of time (as it would need to be compatible with every illuvitar past, present and future!) so any future new sets will likely be few and far between. Just something to keep in mind. It would make them rarer though!

Accessories will be consumed once used on an Illuvitar. If you put a hat on your illuvitar, you can't sell the hat anymore. If you then put a new hat on, the old one vanishes. I don't see accessories being flooded unless nobody actually uses them. I could see some being less popular than others and being plentiful while anything with flame decals on it sells instantly.

if u buy a displate you basically just get a carton envelop with ur thin metal poster in it - the illuvitar plates will come in a super nice and premium box that u dont want to throw away, and can store ur plates in - as well as a thicker , brushed alloy surface to get a somewhat holo effect, and its printed on both sides - showing the ID of the illuvitar and the illuvium logo and artists autographs on the back.

SO There was this idea that Illuvitars can be made In to a card game. And the way to do is is by making a card for each illuvial. But leaving the card picture empty. You can use the card if you have the illuvitar and thr illuvitar will become the picture of the card accessories and all.

I Think this would be amazing way to talk illuvitar to a whole new level for the following reasons.

The card game will have cards made without I pictures. So if you have the illuvitar for that card your illuvitar will becomes it picture.

Each illuvial can have cinematic omega abilities, and the can can include the affinity charts.

The game can be made at any pace because it can just plug the illuvitar ntf into cards meaning it can be made separately. 4th game. 😏

I honestly don't understand why there is no cap on the number of illuvitar disks sold. In addition, the sales period should also be quite long (3 months?). Can someone tell me the background?

One of the best parts of Illuvium is that it's as open to beginners (or the most amount of people as possible regardless of bank roll). Same reason all the Illuvials will be on a bonding curve - the day you find the game will be the best day to start playing. Same with Illuvitars - the day you start playing will be the best day because it's still cheap to get one but because of bonding and new sets there is opportunity for create value and scarcity as the culture of the game develops. It's the best long term decision because it creates the widest base for culture/value to develop, but it obviously all hinges on the game being fun overall and people playing for 10yrs plus. High risk/high reward

Again - illuvitars are more of a game than in any other nft pfp project. The reason is that's also best for the overall economy of the game, we want higher overall volume of lower cost assets primarily - bc millions of gamers. If that happens the overall IBG concept works, then this project is around for 10s of years and if that all happens (and along the way - don't think you are going to have to way 10 year for some to appreciate alot) certain Illuvitars will appreciate significantly.

We want reveal videos, think kids on the playground flexing their shiny charizard vibes, just for people to have fun with them. At least thats how it's always been pitched to me.

Will the illuvitars with accessories always have a fixed position or r we able to move the accessories around freely?

If users are able to customize accessories ourselves it could save the team a lot of time designing every single combination for every illuvial especially when more batches come out the work would increase exponentially

Once you place your accesories on your Illuvitar, you'll have to bond them. If you want to change them, you have to overwrite the old one and you lost it one you had before.

I mean the aesthetics aspect of it like can we move the glasses lower to show the eyes something like that. From what I understand the design team has to customize every possible combination on every illuvitar but wouldn't that be very hard when we have 100+illuvials and accessories? Theres so many possible combinations.

I can't see how it would work if you moved the accessories around? For example on this guy with the horns, if you move the glasses there'd be a big hole in them where the horn was.... Also a lot of the accessories are specifically shaped to fit certain areas. If you move them and try to put them somewhere else it will look pretty bad!

We already have 100+ illuvials, and each new accessory would add a lot of work yes, which is why I don't think there's plans to introduce many new ones for a while. So for now, all accessory positions are fixed, as are the order that they sit on the Illuvitars!

I can definitely see the problem with determining which layer goes on top like the horn if its user designed. I was thinking of something like a simple editor for illuvitars where users can change the size, tilt angle, move locations etc. In terms of scalability it shouldn't be a problem short term but a few years down the road it would just be exponentially harder to scale if each accessory require hundreds or even thousands of hand made modifications factoring in interactions between different accessories.

What I'm saying is that some of the time, each accessory does actually need hundreds of handmade modifications to get it to fit and look right.
The portraits themselves aren't layered, so the horn isn't a layer on top. So if you want to put an accessory on top of that horn that looks like it's actually sitting behind that horn, you need to mask out/cut a hole in the accessory so it fits. Every accessory is placed on top and masked out individually like that to factor in horns, ears, fur, noses etc. This is done multiple times if the different expressions of the portrait also affect the accessory. So as soon as you move any of those accessories (tilt, size, angle, anything) the masks no longer function and things will start to look bad pretty quickly. The 'simple editor' would have to factor in and somehow create new masks for each adjustment, while also factoring in other potential things in the portrait that may need to be masked out for in the new location, which would be anything but simple!
This also doesn't take into account that (for example) the noses on some of the illuvials are very different in width, so you can't just place the same glasses anywhere on any portrait, they would need to be modified to fit a broader bridge of the nose. That falls apart again if you move the glasses down, and suddenly the nose is even more broad, and you need to modify glasses even further to make them work. No editor could do that. Not to mention that not all of the illuvials have broad noses, so the 'base' glasses you use on a broad nosed Lynx would need to be different than ones you use on a narrow beaked Penguin, which would require multiple versions anyway, even if you were using an editor. It all gets very complicated very quickly XD

Bottom line is if there was a simple editor that we could use to easily place and move the things on the portraits, we'd already be using it ourselves inhouse to save ourselves weeks of work :p
The closest we have is Photoshop, and I'm not sure we're allowed to sell photoshop licenses along with Illuvitar disks :p

Although if I'm wrong and you can make for me that editor, I'll be a very happy camper XD

Dont get me wrong Im not suggesting a simple editor can come close to what the team has done for illuvitars. The time and effort thats put into it is definitely worth it by looking at the awesome results. I guess there will be the tradeoff that if we want really professional and great looking illuvitars we might have to sacrifice some variety since at some point it becomes unsustainable to scale. Maybe Im thinking too far down the line but eventually ppl will demand new stuff(skins, accessories etc.) and I don't know how that would work with so much resources put into each one of them. I really enjoy the idea of illuvitars having unique accessories taylor made for each of them instead of slapping on the same "templates" on everything like most other NFT projects out there.

Ilv market trading indeed doesnt net the stakeholders anything (except liquidity providers that see their SLP value increase as they rack up fees).
Illuvitar revenue will be distributed when the illuvitar minting is paid for in Eth. A part of the Eth-revenue will be collected in a safe-wallet until 15M is locked in there to be used as an emergency fund for runway.
The rest of the minting revenue will be distributed to stakeholders!

I think because of how much the scope has increased, Illuvitars are now a "game" themselves with the introduction of the albums/collections and associated leaderboards, etc. So an update to go along the lines of the other games seems fit, in my opinion.

They have previously made a point of keeping everyone on the same level and having a fair start.
The team has stated during previous interviews that they are looking to possibly "add merch or early access to beta's of upcoming releases" when finishing a collection.

They dropped that maybe the illuvitars could be tied to your wallet that you need to scan when entering an Illuvium IRL event for additional benefits or access to the event. (Non confirmed to actually happen but I personally find this interesting)

They have not broached the topic of helping you during the gameplay because this would give an unfair advantage to people with a lot of money 🙂 The game should remain fair for everyone after all!

Collections within the Album have milestones that unlock a wide array of bonuses/achievements tied to the users Account.

For instance completing the Axolotl Collection could reward an Atlas inspired Battle Board in Arena, while completing the Set 1 Batch 1 Collection could reward a Prefixed Title for your account.

We have the power to do some super interesting things here, for example we could tie a SKIN for Arena or say.. Illuvium Store to the completion of a certain collection.

When the collection is completed, it could open up a VIP area of Illuvium Store with a custom frontend

What are the illuvitar set time frames again? Once a set is completed are those illuvitars never minted again thereafter? So if you want a first set illuvitar the only way you get them in the future is via illuvidex off someone that already owns one?

Each Set is broken into Batches containing approximately 25-50 Illuvitars, each batch is available for 3-months.

The D1SKS that contain Illuvitars/Accessories specific to that batch are only on sale for a 3-month period but can be held and opened at a later date or purchased on Secondary market.

Further, each BATCH has an Alpha Sale.

The Alpha Sale period contains FIRST EDITIONS of that Batch.

A good example is Gen 1 First Edition Pokemon Cards
