Why not, think about it. Winners are already gaining experience and elo and rewards. Their performance keeps compounding in gains. But losers get nothing. They should flip the script on experience and give the loser more than the winner

Well if ascendant had been set up properly you'd be facing player of similar skill/collection quality.

Instead we constantly get paired up with those fighting for the top spot because they've farming us for elo. It's the quickest way to kill off a playerbase 🤦‍♂️

Yup, right now I know that I would have to go against @west musk for a third time which would result in a third loss so I am not going to play. I don't even care about the leaderboard, I care about XP and don't want to waste my time now if I am not going to get much.

It makes it an ugly situation where you prefer finding people you can beat just to get XP and you try to avoid anyone better. Turning us all into predators becauase we paid money for the XP and we want to try to get our money worth.

I think what seems weird to me is Gauntlet took over from Leviathan and so in my brain that should be the game for the serious players. Ascendant should be more for your casual player who has only a few minutes to sit down and play a game.
It feels backwards right now.

I could pay someone to level my Illluvials @viral marsh and I have in order to get fuses done quickly but it doesn't feel the same for my own deck. I like the feeling of achievement to see that little 60 pop up.

Clash royale system is all about chests and gold and emeralds and crystals

every game you play you get something... even if you lose you advance a bit to a chest or somewhere on the battle pass... and if you complete the battle pass there is cycling small milestone to keep getting chests... plus weekly mini goals that reward emotes and more chests and other goodies. They promote lots of little dopamine hits in a constantly fresh stream.

Here, we are very literal.... play game, get xp or no get xp. so simple, little dopamine. The gind here is for leaderbaord reward, tournament, and occasional spicy game.

We used to have some mini dopamine with the fuel drops between 1st and 4th. Those were cool.

Mini dopamine hit systems are helpful for new players because it makes them feel like they are grinding towards something.

Why does our Illuvium ownership selections for arena keep resetting? It’s getting really frustrating to have to go through and manually select our Illuvials slots for arena on what feels like a weekly basis now as the selections just disappear. Are devs aware this is happening?

Yes, it'll label you as not classified and the Placements will show up in the top right of the main menu. But your matches are counting and you will still show up on the leaderboards.

For me it reset just once so far, with the patch changing the synergy system.
If you have it reset regularly, i recommend to contact support.

(What could be possible is that it resets when you are manually deleting your saved files folder, but that's just a wwild guess.)

I would play more Ascendant... when crazy bugs gets fixed, if you get just a bit of xp from losses. and if there could be a mechanism to prevent you for meeting same opponent more than 2 times in a row. agree with all of this... It would help a lot with some sort of team builder, it could even be as simple as having an option to mark 5 Favorites in the planner that will then appear with a higher % (if you don't add any it will just appear normal... so its not adding complexity to a completely new player, in the actual game)
