for past year illuvial collection work like this:

1. you buy illuvials with good stats/lvls.
2. prepare them for leviathan tournament/LB season
3. watch that it's no LB for leviathan
4. watch on 2 small tournaments with prize pull less that IPL tournaments
5. try play it - lose to middle stats/lvl, but higher skill player
6. upset with situations: money/time you spend
7. try sell all your collection for x4-6 less price that you spend for it.

it's most common scenario was in past year.

probably with mmo release. or season 2 of arena something changes.

What you are looking for is a Scholarship style system. We don't offer those through our own platform, but some people reach out to players privately to set similiar things up.
If you plan to, I would suggest caution and make sure you know the player and trust them. Iluvium can't take responsibility for anything to do with this sort of thing

I believe all the rewards are received by the passport account wallet address. And the passport account is controlled by anyone with the access to emails.

I don’t think there’s a way to control everything without a little bit of trust. You would have to give them the ability to login to play. That would actually give them the ability to transfer tokens too. But you could certainly claim rewards and transfer them regularly to some address only you control so there would only ever be small amounts that you would have to trust your scholars not to take/transfer.

The “big” investment is the land nft and that should stay in the metamask controlled wallet that only you would control.

But since Illuvium is moving to zkEVM I've been looking into building a trustless system where people can rent out illuvials or go and rent them from Illuvilords via smart contracts.

I'd have spent 10x more over the past year if the leadership had had the confidence to put all incentives on leviathan. It's no mystery why illuvium isn't making money. They spent 4 years making a web3 game and then made a free web2 version and told us all to play that instead 🤷‍♂️

Let's not forget the DAO and a large number of community investors who went into panic mode when Illuvium didn't have a massive number of players at release. The push to change the fuel system immediately, the push to start paying people to play, etc.

Sadly, we won't ever know how it would have gone if Illuvium had just stuck to the original plan that we believed in years ago.

I agree with you about spending though. The way the $ has gone to F2P and the uncertainty that high stat Illuvials won't somehow be devalued to make things "more fair" has curbed my spending as well.

I think many of us would have dropped a lot of money if the IPL was Leviathan. Especially if they had a scholarship program.

A system where players rent an Illuvial normally, but every payment counts toward eventually owning it.

Instead of renting feeling like “throwing money away,” an R2O option turns it into a payment plan for expensive Illuvials.

Well you might have an Illuvial worth $500 on the market that just isn’t selling.
With R2O, you could list it at $600 spread over 12 months.

The renter can stop the plan anytime, but they lose the progress/payments they’ve made and use of the illuvial.
You (the owner) only commit as long as the renter keeps paying. If they stop, you walk away with:
• all payments already made
• the Illuvial you R2Oed
• full freedom to relist, rent, or sell again.

You’re not locked for 12 months unless the renter actually finishes the full buyout.
Until then, you hold custody and keep earning.

Pay to win need to have a bigger role . People need to be incentivize to buy powerful illuvial‘s without fear of them getting nerfed. An argument was made that in ascendant arena teams were mirroring one another . paying $10,000 or $5000 for a super powerful unit indefinitely needs be a game changer. If not, why do they cost so much? What’s their value if they’re not gonna make you more money. Especially people putting in hundreds of hours leveling up their units. They need to be powerful enough to make a dramatic difference, and this will incentivize people to also grind and play more and collect more.. I’ve said it 1 million times and I’m gonna say it again Leviathan and ascendant is the end of Be all it’s very scalable if approached and done correctly.

Illuvium is a wonderful game, but for me, the problem of lack of mass player participation is more “simple.” For a TFT game, you need a very powerful computer. The vast majority of people cannot play it. A good example of this is League of Legends and Dota 2. Dota is a much better game, older, smarter, more difficult, and heavier. Then LoL came along and was accessible to most people, not only graphically but also mechanically, and achieved a much larger number of players.

Could be a lot of factors tbh, the games in a pretty decent spot - not as heavy on bugs as past months have been, word of mouth is probably getting around a little due to high prize tournaments + general solid web3 game when you compare it to some of the rubbish that's in this space, and shorter games will defo help I'd imagine

just look on statistic of some players bots, i can made calculation/suggestion:
they play 24/7 hours window with 1.5-2hour delays.
with current game duration 20-25mins, and search time between games 3-5min it's mean there queue of bots.
in current games it's around 3-7 bots every game. let's count 5 overall.
and it's 12 games per 1 hour.
it's mean for 1 hour it's 60 different bots.
with 1.5-2hour delay it's mean extra 40-60 bots in their "queue of bots".
so we got total 100-160 different bots in current ranked games.

i can be wrong, but we don't have official statistic.

I liked the changes overall, however the main thing they stopped doing after the last patch is a problem. After the removal of the carousel, players who performed poorly early on — whether due to RNG or a loose streak strategy — used to sometimes have the choice of a tier 4 unit (12 gold) and an item, sometimes option to choose a legendary item, along with other advantages to balance things against players on a win streak or with a strong early game. The way it is now feels very unbalanced for those who start badly; it needs a faster carousel or a similar alternative
