I played Illuvium last year, I tried the ascendant mode and didnt like it (It could be because it wasn't my game type).

my friend told me about gauntlet mode a few months ago, but I didn't pay much attention, so two months ago I decided to give it a try (obviously because he said that F2P leader was paying good).

after a month and a half of learning the game we had a leviathan tournament, btw i didnt participate cuz theres no chance without NFTS, so the following week I already spent around $800 for the second tournament.

from my perspective, without a F2P leader many players wouldn't even try the game

I dont know how the OW will work after it becomes MMO Lite, but yes, OW should always be the main game that feed the rest.
Its imperative that you can grind from zero and can build your team starting with nothing.
Thats the "Illuvium dream" and thats what will bring new players to the ecosystem.
Sure, you can pay for the best stats illuvials and have the best leviathan team if you are into this kinda game and thats very important for the game economy, but what will bring lots of new players will be OW. It needs to be and all the illuvium ecosystem needs to be around OW, or it will fail.
OW is what made me join this project 4 years ago and will always be the main atraction. It needs to.

From what i experience a s2 is roughly 50% of the exp you get in a s3.

• no need to spend energy for ringshrooms, since you can run 2-3 teams in s2
• you get way more illuvials in front of your eyes and increase the chance to get lucky

in stage-2 for 1 encounter you got around 1000exp split for all.
in stage-3 for 1 encounter you got 5000-12000exp split for all.

stage-2 - you can do 15fight if split team, don't use consumables.
stage-3 - you can do 6-7 fight.

15k exp stage-2. with 10 runs = 150k exp.
70k exp stage-3 run.
yes - stage-2 cost less x2, but you spend x20 more time that in stage-3.
but if use mushrooms, all pictures will be different

The more illuvials you have on the board, the less XP it gets from the fight.
Also, if i not mistaken he needs to survive.
So you need to balance your team to win the fight with the minimun illuvials on the board.
There are consumables that increase XP. Use it on the illuvials you want to level up.

Just did for example 4 average sized s2 encounters and got pretty exactly 2k exp.
You definetly got me curious and will look more deeply into it tomorrow 🙂

I was wondering if there could be more than just 32 spots for the tournaments. For example, expanding to 64 could make sense, since we had over 100 active players in the last Sit and Go. With only 32 spots, many of the same players from the previous event will qualify automatically, which might make it harder for new players to join. Increasing the number of spots could encourage more participation and create a more dynamic competition.

I liked the idea of a 64 player tournament. The 32 qualifiers with ipl points automatically go through, then can have 16 go through in 2 sessions. The people from last week happy they don't have to grind again and then u have 32 spots with weaker competition for lower ranked players, that have more chance to get. Note im biased coz I somehow got lucky and made it last week but I think that helps people from last week and makes it easier on newcomers this week. Otherwise once again its just all the beasts battling it out which is okay but maybe save that for tournament 3? Anyway happy whatever u decide just my 2 cents

What i see most people complaining have nothing to do with the grind or opportunity. What i see most people complain about is the rng inside the game and the frustration that is to lose because you were not lucky.
Luck should be part of the game, sure. But needs to be secondary, not the reason that define who win.
We are getting 15/20 augments per game...we have more augments then illuvials, in a game where you should gather illuvials to get synergies. How does this makes sense?
Augments should be a reward, should be oriented to your comp and should be like weapons. You get one, period. Now play around it.
When in the same team you have 3 illuvials with 3 augments each...imo, it doesnt make sense.
Then you have regions where is even worst...

i´ve won with berseker... rarely , but i guess more than 4 times this week. Sometimes they all go for Revenants / Shields and you have your units free. If you manage to take Slashing from em early on the game, Frost4 Berseker3 can give you the victory.
Kinda frustrating seeing your team being wiped by revenant 4 stage 2 cheap units, but if you position good you can win.

For sure. I don't mind this actually, it's okay to get this extra "price" for going deep in the previous tournament. However, if this is an ongoing thing and it will be based of cumulative IPL points from multiple tournaments, then it could quickly become a snowball effect. That favours those who placed well in just a few early tournaments, who will the auto qualify and in many subsequent tournaments earning more IPL points, and then the advantage might become slightly too big. You could argue that those players are good and would probably qualify anyways, at least most of the time.
For me personally I would grant the 8 finalists in one IPL tournament automatic qualification for the next one. I think 16 is too many, and I think the cumulative system could become too much of an advantage after just a few tournaments. I think top 8 from last IPL is a good compromise between rewarding and incentivicing as well as not creating a snowbally effect that is too unfair.

thats there right to sell any tokens theyve earned. They are constantly playing and providing matches for noobs and the rest of the community. The selling pressure with 500 tokens is negligible so almost all of your points have no effect on the market and economy. The purpose of the rewards is to attract players which it is doing

Leviathan should just be ascendant and that’s what all the cash tournaments should be for the pro league huge incentivizing to go and buy and spend money arena. it's math - you can count when you have to roll your team, you need think about your build and opponent build.
and most of time everything work as should.

every game is different. who use better his knowledge - win.
it's different win-conditions ussualy against different decks.
different legendarys/synergy can give you win.
now we limited with choice of win-strategy, but 1 day we got balance which was most of time fine at winter-spring

I think maybe one of the things devs should try is seeing if there is a reasonable way to remove revo and quinx from 75% of viable builds. I've been pretty vocal about dust being op as all hell before, but fox being quite possibly the best disruptor in the game makes it so air and rogue builds are somewhat inflated.
