There is an issue with this: the earliest placed Illuvials are at the top of the damage counter even though they didn’t deal the most damage. Dualeth dealt 6600k damage here.

Isn't it how resolve works?
Dualeph is dealing low amount of damage at high frequency instead of a huge chunk of damage at once, maybe 9 earth is totally nullifying each tick of damage @viral marsh

your guys sound design is top notch, honestly! walking into a cave in OW and hearing the reverb reflect, etc. i remember seeing a YT video on the sound in like 2021. would be cool to see more of those! Doom is considered AAA and i love their sound design but the spacial feel of the audio is terrible, sounds like a demon is right behind me but its miles away

i remember when OW first came out i had a friend over and i cranked up the sound system to show him the variance in the jetpack propulsion sounds lol. absolutely insane

yea, praise to @elfin onyx on this, he built an entire spacialisation system from the ground up in Unreal with ray tracing and such. So basically a ray is casted at each tick of the game in multiple direction, and based on the texture it hits, a specifc random event is triggered at certain conditions, and it creates the sound scape. It also knows how "wide" the location is , and tunes the reverb accordingly. It's pretty clever honestly ahah

so basically a Ramfire S3 will take more of the audio space than a Lura S1

yea so we design assets based on it's future use. for exemple , ambiances are comprised of a lot of individual elements ( rock falling / wind / sand grains / crackles etc etc... )

then we assemble it in Wwise ( our audio engine ) then it's played in UE with the custom spacial engine

and it places all those individual layers in the enviroenement,

panning it / filtering it etc...

we do use some automation yea, depends on the context. we use a lot of LFO as well to add randomness

makes sense! i was able to pull low end out of the breathing with just a shelf but obviously that creates a lot of unneccesary noise. will mess around with LFOs!

usually we start by experimenting with creating cool sounds without a specific purpose in mind ( or maybe just " Bright Magic" or "angry creature" ) then we export all that in our personnal Illuvium library, then use it for building the design

then we export again all those "built" layers as "archives" for future use in another context

definitely makes sense for stream lining the process! if illuvium is mainstream someday that library might be worth a lot! i mean, im sure it's already legendary for game designers now

if it's synced to picture or a specific animation, I would go for Automations for sure. If it's mostly to give "movement" without to much sync needs, then LFO is fun yea

Yea libraries are among the top priority for sound / game studios. Like the library at Riot Games must be pretty epic, same for Skywalker Ranch.

Really at the end of the day, that's why some studio are so expensinve to hire, it's mainly because of the sounds they have access to ( aka their personnal library, not Third Party commercial libraries )

the best thing u can do for crashes is to restart the game after every single game

deleting saves doesn't do anything for me, the only thing that consistently gets me 0 crashes in a game sometimes is to restart after every one

Yeah, I'd suggest that if you aren't so sure what you are doing with deleting files etc, just simply restart your client
