I’ve heard this echoed a lot recently and for survival, it simply isn’t true. I’ll try to explain.

You can bank as many tokens as you like. The more you bank, the riskier things get because you stand to lose them all if your game bugs.

There are many bugs, but these are the ones I look out for.

1. do not ever put down more than three ascendant tokens or make multiple ascendant token moves. Taking off one unit with tokens on it and replacing that unit with something else is ok. Any additional moves I’d wait a turn.

2. any tokens placed after a checkpoint level will be lost if you don’t make it to the next checkpoint. Used a token on 11 and 12, but died on 13? You are now down 2 tokens. Used a token on ten? That’s ok because it was “saved” at the checkpoint on 11. Continuing on pc…

3. You can use the logic in 2 above to bank extra ascendant tokens. Starting on wave 11... don't use any tokens. On 12 you'll pick up a token and on 14 you pick up a token - you now have two tokens, but on wave 11 you had 0 right? Die on 14. Back on wave 11 you now have 2 tokens... 2 more than you prevously had. I'm not advocating for using exploits - just identifying them. Usually, this is not advantageous anyways because we are more limited by MP early on and Ascendant tokens rarely become a limiting factor. All they do is limit fun and creativity (I'm not a fan of this mechanic at all). You can repeat this 3 times for an extra 6 tokens with 1 life left. Again - I'm not suggesting anyone do this. It's not within the intended use of the game (I think).

4. Changing out any units should be done with extreme caution and prejudice. I would not do this with any tokens banked (for fear of a bug and losing them all), but if I'm at 0 on a checkpoint - this is when I would switch out units.

Losing even 1 token means I'm almost always just restarting my run. GLHF and I hope you all enjoy playing this game - that's literally being made right now, in real time. Amazing experience.

It is insanely harder to deal with than to use it.For the most part its only counter is jsut using him in your team aswell.There are things that work against it, but if your oponent use him With that strategy , they stil lwin.And it is just one unit that is so strong itself, that can fit in anything.

I have a couple questions regarding the gauntlet mode:

is there a limit on Illuvials? Like all players can only get a total of X Monkiers for example

Is there a limit on income for mastery points? Like in tft 50?

How is the damage calculated? 2 per Illuvial + a fix amount per stage?

How is the next enemy determined? Is there like a system that you play every player once per stage or smth?

You need to own everything, at least 5 s1 illuvials, at least 1 armor and 1 weapon

They say its similar to TFT so I reckon theres a pool of X number of each illuvial. So if others are getting the same illuvial that makes your chances of showing up in your roll is lower.

Arena Update

For Survival Mode we are looking at some fundamental changes to the gameplay (they were always coming, just not a priority). They won't be live when we launch but they are high on our priority list once Gauntlet is in a good state.

Ascendant will also get a major overhaul. We don't know the exact direction it will go, but there are a few options which I think are all better than what we have now.

For Gauntlet, what you saw the other day is only the start. This is going to be the more "wild" mode with lots of fun stuff to make every game really different.

It's no secret that Arena is my favourite of our games but we have been busy with a lot of things so it might not feel like much has changed. Once we get to the point where we aren't fixing bugs and adding basic things like new UI and such, you will see how fast we can cook.

To be fair, yeah it should be fixed, but I don´t think it should be #1 priority, you can use tokens before a checkpoint round and then take the checkpoints without loosing anything e.g., survival has nothing to do with economy breaking things, fixing this a bit later seems fine to me. My personal opinion.

I think if you save lots of points waves 1-10 where you can win with very few illuvials and hyper and then record gameplay and adjust positioning or hyper setup when you lose, you are good to go, but might take some time. Survival can be very tedious with that lots of trial and error every day.

If the wins are super close just doing the same thing can fail, as the way crit/dodge etc. work at the beginning of the fight at e.g. 25% chance the game randomly decided crit 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th attack and then every 4th from there.
So if wins are super close can be that like all the units e.g. crit 1st 5th 9th which is obv better than 4th 8th 12th atk and enemy team maybe gets the 4th 8th etc on relevant units.

or you did mess up a single pixel hex and that has some relevant impact

The coolest thing was the 30 reconnects I received and every time the game failed because the changes were not counted. when the counter reached 0 it stuck. and when I reopened the game I had already lost.
