I’ve had thoughts about illuvials being able to evolve by tanking x damage, stunning, dealing dmg, getting a multi kill etc… to spice things up and let you place weak units at the start that grow into their higher stage forms.
Also linking a fire and water unit, sacrificing base affinity for an extra steam like ranger does. Or lizards and lynxes getting composite affinity versions. Fuse a fire and water lynx or liz, get a steam

I believe this is a function of the game penalizing swaps and moves too much. A penalty is fine, but when it's absurdly high (especially with augments) then it stifles creativity and complex play. I also don't know if now is a good time to change it, because the game is complex enough for the moment especially with regular balance patches and stability issues (just crashed again writing this). But, I do think it's an area that could use improvement. Also, changing bonding should be less costly to provide exciting counterplays without the massive penalty.

Also moving /changing formations could do with adjustments. Cheaper/ loser of previous round gets cheap or free adjustments to try and counter formations.

The game is not complex though, if content creators give you the flowchart of the deck anyone with 2 IQ could reach 1900... and there's already 2 IQs up there so that just says a lot.

On the movement thing though. I think the penalties we have are fine. Of course they can be fine tuned for more or less but I'm totally fine with the actual penalties. 👌🏻

On your first point - if moving and swapping were cheaper, then this would not be the case. The flowchart of a deck making anyone "good" is BECAUSE of the restrictive nature of moving/swapping/bonding etc. It reduces counterplay and just makes straight deck strength the core contributor to winning. Play and position is very secondary to core deck strength atm.

Maybe you should try moving more or better then. I'm pretty mobile of a player and have no issue with its cost

Moving 3 units and 3 augments t4 is 100% stronger than 4 augments t4

Considering you have a reason to move them

Your issue about core deck strength and more specifically matchups is because:
1: decks right now are monodirectional with 8 illuvials
2: counters do counter too hard leaving to the player with a negative matchup very low opportunity to win

Which can both be solved by changing the teambuilding rules and balancing the game

This meta is also partially the way it is because not all units are revealed / included yet. It's easy to get 4 colossus / invoker / mud since there's three units for each, but there's only 1 shock / dust atm.

It means that's what your ranger gets for bonding it. So take Ryplance for example. It is toxic (water + nature) and water dominant. If I bond it with my ranger, my ranger will take water. If I equip a nature weapon then my ranger will also have the toxic trait.

when you hover over an Illuvial's synergies, it will show the "dominant synergy". this is the one the ranger gets when bonded. for tsunami, the dominant is always water, because tsunami = water + water. For wildfire, for example, the dominant can be either fire or nature.

Some omega descriptions on the lynx line are a bit confusing. Last sentence for instance. They then gain 40 grit and resist. This "they" I assume it means the lynx, not the enemies. Otherwise it would be a shitty omega.

you can e.q. equpid a psion wepaon and bond your ophisto to it, make shock, invoker, play more invokers and you will deal damage
for that you´d need a psion ranger weapon, that is e.g. fire air an ophisto, 4 invoker and a 70 cost psion weapon would be lots of lategame damage

Being precise. See it like this:

Consider a 0 resist illuvial the baseline. If it has 1000 hp it needs to receive 1000 dmg.

Now, for every single point of resist it has. The damage it needs to receive to die is that % amount increased.

Example:

50 resist means the illuvial needs to receive 50% more damage to die than it would if he had 0 resist. That is like 33% dmg reduction.

100 resist means 100% more damage. Which traduces to 50% dmg reduction.

200 resist is 66% dmg reduction.

300 is 75% dmg reduction and so on.

you need to have him near someone his dominant affinity counters. Eg if your umbre is fire dominant you want him near enemy nature (but also away from water so they dont reduce his hyper)

there is a tag next to the damage chart somewhere you can switch to hyper view that kind of shows if the position they are in will gain them hyper

Check out viper_ilv on twitter/twitch/youtube. He created many of the current meta teams and he is testing new teams from time to time. Sadly it is not easy to create a team yourself. You need lots of knowledge and not all illuvials are good atm because there are still some illuvials missing to make specific affinities/classes work.

Yeah I run into the issue where they can win the matchup and every rematch is almost a guaranteed loss. But at the same time I learnt after about 3 games how to counterplay a specific comp, so that was somewhat helpful

Literally the game freezing, "waiting for opponent" then after 2 min of waiting I exit game to try to reconnect. Sometimes I can reconnect with only missing a couple of rounds, but more times than not the game counts it as a loss.

I think these bugs arent very easy to solve and I think they have done a great job of putting in a short term solution (better than a lot of games do at this stage)

Not much else besides defensive or anti heal/energy but personally I will chuck pure damage augments on sometimes. With mystic its attack speed gets surprisingly high
