You do own your ILV, and you can feel free to do what you want with them, including staking elsewhere, but you won't receive revdis or staking rewards via Illuvium if you do so. Always DYOR on any protocol you might be thinking about staking with.

@coral pike There's a fixed amount of ILV distributed each block to stakers. Of that fixed amount, 80% goes towards the SLP pool, 20% goes towards the ILV pool. Within their respective pools, those tokens are distributed by stake weight. Every 2 weeks, that fixed amount per block is reduced by 3%.

No, it's more like, of ALL YF rewards distributed, 20% of those go to the ILV pool, and are then divvy'd up between stakers.

Your SLP stake, based on the stake weight and portion of the pool you own, gets a share of 80% of all the rewards for each block.

It's not based on the user staking, it's based on the individual stakes in the pools. They don't say "Hey, this is Solar's wallet, he's in both pools so he gets 100%". They say, "This stake of 5 SLP is locked for a year at 2.0 weight. There's 800 ILV to dole out, and he owns .0002% of the pool. He gets THIS many."

Let's consider some very simplified pools.

On a given block, with 10 ILV allocated as rewards for that block:

2 ILV will be distributed to the ILV pool.
8 ILV will be distributed to the SLP pool.

If there were 2 total stakers in the SLP pool, both owning 5 SLP. One is staked at 2.0 weight, one is staked at 1.0 weight.
2.0 weight gets double what a 1.0 weight would get, so give 5.33 ILV to the 2.0 weight, and 2.66 ILV to the 1.0 weight.

If there were 2 total stakers in the ILV only pool, each with 5 ILV, both staked flexibly at 1.0 weight, they'd each get 1 ILV.

Lets keep calculations simple. Let's say ILV is $100, and an SLP token is $1000 ($500 of ILV + $500 of ETH).

If you were to stake your $1000 as ILV tokens, with a 40% APY, and that APY stayed constant (it won't), at the end of a year you'd have 14 ILV.
If you were to stake your $1000 as SLP tokens, with a 300% APY, and that APY stayed constant (it also won't), at the end of a year you'd have 1 SLP token unlocked, and 30 ILV.

It'll likely be at least a few times a week. Depending how much revenue is coming in, it might be desirable for this to be more often. The vault will make buys at random times, but it's possible that it could pay rewards out more often than it purchases ILV from the market.

When the 2 tokens in a LP diverge in price (i.e. change at different rates, up or down), you incur IL.

Hi guys, I had my Sushi LP staked until January. And in January I wanted to restake it for 1 year. But what happened is that they just got locked up under "Vesting" instead. I know that there have been some issues with staking and therefore waited for it to resolve. But am I losing all the staking rewards now?

If you haven't unstaked then you are still receiving rewards. Once your locked period is up you still earn the rewards at the weight you staked for as long as you don't unstake

It doesn't know you invested 1 ILV, because you didn't. You invested SLP, which changes composition when the price of the composite tokens changes. If you were talking about how much revdis you'd get on that stake, it wouldn't be much at all if ILV absolutely mooned like that.

It would, however, know the relative value of your SLP position compared to the rest of the pool, for YF rewards.

Strictly speaking, it's looking at how much of the pool you own. In this scenario, you still have some amount of SLP tokens, which didn't change when ILV mooned.

So it doesn't have to look at or lock any values in, it gives you rewards each block based on how much of the pool belongs to you. Extreme price divergence like that does lead to large IL. Generally the higher APY covers that, but sometimes it does not.

The Upgrade Period is a period during which Staking V2 is live, but rewards are not being distributed. That allows for people to Upgrade or Migrate their stakes to V2. Without an upgrade period, there would be some super exploitable behavior people could engage in to try and get re-staked fastest. It was originally planned for this to be 2 weeks, but Aaron indicated that period could be shortened.

There will always be fear about something or other, if it's not a token unlock it'll be something else. I can appreciate mitigating stuff like unlock before revdis (i.e. returning things to working as intended), but otherwise I'm all for a hands off approach. Dumps are often bigger opportunities than pumps, and trying to control the market seems like a lot of effort for minimal results.

Who knows though, maybe the team does have a plan in place.

The APY is calculated manually (or rather not by the contract itself). It is robust. And it takes into account if people withdrew, so those that didn't would get more rewards.

They aren’t manual. It’s a field in the data. You have PENDING REWARDS which is what you had before shut down. And ACCUMULATED REWARDS which is what you have since then. If you unstake before v2 your ACCUMULATED REWARDS will be zero. But your PENDING REWARDS will be whatever they were.

Depends on your situation.

1. if you're wallet is safe and you are happy with your token weight, then do nothing. Just upgrade the pool and you're good.

2. if your wallet is compromised and you already staked on V1, the only way is to be faster than the scammer which depending on the way you've been scammed makes it possible, probable or impossible.

The team tried adding the migration feature, but since implementing a contract makes it immutable (aka not possible to edit or change), V1 stakers don't get the chance to migrate their tokens to another wallet. They can only withdraw and then re-stake directly on V2.

And the extra gas fees from claims were an issue previously that won’t be any more.

I think the main thing to look at RE: IL is whether you think ILV or ETH will either bomb or skyrocket during your lock period. If they stay relatively close, IL isn't super high. There's a calculator pinned here you can play with to see IL in theoretical situations though.

Because as the amount of ILV changes in each SLP token then the amount of ILV you have staked and therefore eligible for revdis changes.

We are early adopters/funders/profit-seekers and are used to some "crypto-specific risks," but if this game succeeds like most of us think it will, a whooooooooole lot more people to scam are going to flood into the scene. I could handle transferring out of the game client to a cold wallet (or vice versa) once in awhile to limit exposure if it meant most players, especially "free-to-play" who are just trying to earn and sell Tier 1's were more protected. Most of us probably already do something similar with exchanges to "onboard" or "offboard" as-needed. But ... you can't deny that Coinbase, Kraken, Binance ... a lot of people only go as far as their "account wallet."

I will start aroun 3 ILV (from this 40% will go to the LP with ETH and 60% will be locked in the core pool)

Kind of something you need to decide on your own, but for me personally, I wouldn't invest any less than 3k due to the numerous gas fees associated with creating and staking SLP. Though if you can catch lower gas fees, maybe a smaller amount could be worth it as well

I have a big bag too, since V1, and frankly I'd like a minimum of communication. a deadline ? Something At least now that the IIP is signed. I can withdraw SLP tokens from the pool for 45 days, but I would have lost the revdis by doing so. So I can't even manage my investment as planned, and we are given no visibility. it should never have taken so long according to their own words. Sad.

Yeah. 20-30% in the ILV only pool. 200-300% in the eth/ILV pool. The eth/ILV is the hardest to guess. But I feel pretty close.

if you stake x ILV for a year it has a weight of 2 for revdis ( 10 X 2 = 20 for example) once the 12 months is over if you never touch the stake it will always remain that way

I'm not looking for Financial Advice, just some speculation help, and I'll probably get a different answer if I post this in different Channels. But, what should I do with my money? Buy ILV and stake it (if I do this, I'll most likely pick Silv2 as a reward), buy ETH or Silv2 and buy land, or wait for game release and have it on hand for any resources or rare Illuvials that I want to buy to get me ahead and on a good track for P2E?

Thank you, I already read the first one. The second one about the SLP is new to me. I did do a good amount of research, just checking sentiment. I'm leaning towards land, and then future money into ILV for revdis, that will produce Silv2 that I can use in game. Just seeing if someone else had another plan that "they" think is more superior 🙂

I'm not trying to corner you into playing along, but anyone can feel free to jump in to think this through with me. Lets say we roleplay your strategy, would you think ILV or SILV2 rewards are better? I'm thinking SILV2. If I have the Tokenomics right, when there is a Revdis drop, and you want SILV2, then the vault mechanisms would buy ILV then convert it to SILV2 (burning off the ILV in the process), allowing you to have liquidity in a coin that can be used right away, and this coin has a value pinned to ILV. If there is a marketplace to sell SILV2, then you can, take the fiat from the sail, then buy more ILV and stake it. In the process, you've doubled your new Revdis potential because you Burned an ILV (increasing coin value (scarcity) while reducing the number of coins trying to claim revdis) and you bought an ILV (increasing your revdis).

Not quite correct on revdis mechanics there; the way it works is that any revenue the DAO makes(whether that be in ETH or USD or whatever currency) is used to buy ILV off the open market(thereby raising ILV price). That ILV is then distributed to everyone who is staked by the amount you have staked and at what weight. Never does the DAO buy sILV2. Also, regarding sILV2, there is no official marketplace to sell it, and it is not valued at the price of ILV in the open market.

And ILV is not burned through revdis mechanics. The only time ILV gets "burned" is when a staker claims sILV2 as a staking reward. And even that isn't a traditional burn(coin being removed from circulation), it just prevents the equivalent amount of ILV from ever being minted

ok, so the 3million coins being distributed to stakers, is a whole other mechanism than the Revdis... I should've figured that one out. Ok, so over 3 years, (most likely less now, 2.5 years), stakers are receiving ILV or SILV2 at their preference, which is coming from the Staker pool. At the same time, revdis is coming in from the DAO in the form of an ILV buyback (randomly dispersed over time, etc.).
