You can set your seed phrase up on the ledger, but remember, that your metamask seedphrase was in contact with the internet before. So it has a higher chance of being compromised. aside from that, a seedphrase from Metamask has only 12 words, while one from a ledger has 24 words, increasing its security by a factor 2048^12th. Not saying that those 12 words would be guessed, but you know, security wise it's nice.

So making a new wallet on your ledger:

1. Is safer as the seedphrase will never contact the internet.
2. Has more words and therefore is harder to be cracked randomly!
   (A friend of mine actually created a wallet through metamask that already had been used before! :))

I think it just gives a random 12 word phrase whenever you create a wallet. As it obviously won't save which seedphrases are in use, since that would be a risk for all the metamask users ;D

Had my MM address for a year and never been compromised.
I have different project stacked so I couldn t change and still wanted to be safer.

I ordered a trezor and imported the seed, then completely deleted my MM.
I recreated then a new MM (didn t even save the seed, as I m not using it) only to use my trezor through it for project were there is trouble to use directly trezor.

This means that any kind of revenue generated through sales or in-game revenue is distributed back to holders of staked ILV. Revenue distribution is paid out in the form of unlocked ILV and the payout is done multiple times a week without a fixed schedule. Before paying out revenue distribution, the vault converts ETH spent in-game into ILV by buying it off the market which puts buying pressure on the ILV token and thus supports its price development.

Small staking query. If I staked 10 ilv in the ilv pool I would get about a 30% return. Whereas I could stake 5ilv and the same worth of eth in the slp pool and get 300% return based on the last figures. Do you get 300% of your eth aswell or just the ilv? I have been reading this with regards to staking rewards and I have a question:

"To solve issues with staking and unstaking, rewards have been temporarily paused until Staking V2 launches. During this period rewards will still be calculated, and will be rolled over into V2 only for those that remain staked for the entire period."

My current stake will end on the 27th of February, does this mean that all of the staked amount will be lost ad I will technically 'unstake'? Also if I desire to restake my ILV and sILV would it still be possible at this point in time?

SLP gets way higher rewards but has higher costs. I was scared of SLP when I first staked. There’s nothing to really fear except making sure your rewards more than cover your expenses.

If your tokens in V1 are locked you 'upgrade' to V2 which allows the new contract to read your V1 stake. Once you are unlocked you can 'migrate' to V2 which should reduce gas fees compared to just upgrading.

To elaborate on what Scoot said, if you have a stake locked in the V1 contract, it can't be withdrawn until the lock period ends. That's the reason it cannot be fully migrated. However, you can (and should!) upgrade to V2. This means you're allowing the V2 contracts to read your existing V1 stake and allocate rewards. When V2 goes live, ALL rewards will be distributed via V2, so to continue earning rewards on your V1 stake, an upgrade is required.

Before the pause… 12 month locked for ILV only was about 30%. 12 month locked for eth/ILV lp tokens was around 300%. Flexible would be half that. And it’s a linear increase the longer you lock for.

The other reason the rewards are higher is that it’s something that actually helps the project. Incentivizing liquidity providers helps to bootstrap the ILV token to be able to be bought and sold. So the team setup tokenomics and staking rewards program that give 4 ILV tokens to eth/ILV lp stakers for every 1 token given to ILV only stakers.

How long has it been since they froze the staking v1 dashboard? Trying to estimate how much rewards I've accrued since then

When you stake ILV or SLP, you choose how long you lock it. The longer you lock it, the higher rate you get (the rate gets a multiplier depending on the length of lock, from x1 for not locking it to x2 for one year of locking it). The longest locking time is one year. During the time you have staked your ILV or SLP, you get ILV rewards which are calculated every few minutes or so. The first step of getting access to these rewards is to "claim" them. This stakes them and locks them for a year earning ILV at the x2 rate. Once ILV or SLP from staking is unlocked it will remain staked making the same reward multiplier. Unlocked ILV or SLP can be withdrawn. There are ETH gas transaction costs that apply which will be less (they say) in v2 of staking.

• You acquire either some ILV or some Sushi LP tokens
• You go to: https://staking.illuvium.io/staking/core
• You enter the right pool according to the tokens you acquired
• You decide whether to lock your deposit or not (if locked, you will receive more rewards from yield farming and revenue distribution, but you cannot withdraw your deposit until the chosen locking period is over)
• After approving the contract (if this is your first interaction with it) you confirm the staking of the desired tokens

Depends on the expected returns of your SLP tokens. Personally i think that: if you can expect the rewards from the SLP pool to be similar to the half of ILV you are missing when you stake in the SLP pool, then it would be worth it to go into that pool. The ILV pool gives you more certainty that you have the amount of ILV you start with, and they unlock earlier than the ILV rewards that you get from the SLP pool.

And no, you should not be buying any right now since the one currently on the market is a dead token. sILV2(the new version) is a reward token only. You can't stake it, and the only place you can use it officially is to pay for things in-game(travel fee, shard curing etc.)

Unfortunately I don't think so. You need to be quicker than the hacker when your locked ILV becomes unlocked, to "migrate" the unlocked ILV to a new wallet. This can become tricky if the hacker immediately drains any ETH used for Gas fees

I just did a blog post on this and update to my dashboard - my math through today has it 0.75 ILV per SLP at weight = 1. 0.0143 ILV per ILV (weight =1) in that core pool. Takes into account the withdrawing and claims. Its not perfect because it misses token weight impact, but pretty close. The big thing I'd recommend thinking about is how long do you plan to be staked? if you're interested in the long run, staking is the way to go to enable revenue distribution along with yield farming rewards. My best guess for you today (based on calculators) is to expect ~0.05 ILV per month in staking rewards, so if you're not in for the longer haul, be very careful with gas fees. As for sILV, you have to claim to receive them, which is another transaction fee, so make sure you're not just better off spending your transaction fee ETH in game.

hi, I have a few questions regarding staking ILV. Whats the difference between 'core pools and flash pools'? Can I choose one of them while staking? Whats the APY rate at the moment? ıs there a minimum amount to stake ILV? Does the APY rate changes dramatically from time to time?

1.) core pools are the pools that involve staking ILV, flash pools are pools where you stake partner tokens and receive ILV as the reward. 2.) you can choose whatever one you want. 3) the apy rate can be found on their website when you click on the pool options. 4.) there is no minimum amount to stake, but the gas fees are not amazing so I wouldnt go and stake like 15 dollars worth of ILV. 5.) the APY somtimes changes drastically depends on what is going on in the market, but most of the time is pretty steady. 6.) yea your rewards accumuate through the whole 12 month vesting period. 7.) the difference of staking V2 is hopefully better gas fees and just getting rid of some bugs. I am not sure about getting sILV tokens when staking in V2 but if you do you can use them to purchase land or they can be spent in game to play the play to earn side of the game.

Building on Sssskills, why APY changes with the market is that the SLP core pool has a factor that changes based on the price of ILV, so the higher ILV is, the higher the reported APY. Check out my article on Publish0x (link in my profile) "Why APY is dumb." ILV core pool will have a considerably lower APY and isn't affected by ILV price. Expect mid 20% for the ILV pool and depending on ILV price, the SLP APY should be in the 200% range right now. As for sILV - when you claim pending yield farming rewards, you have the choice to claim as sILV or ILV. If you claim ILV, they are locked in a 12 month vesting period, but also earn rewards in the ILV core pool. If you claim sILV (or sILV-2 when they return), you will immediately receive "gift cards" for Illuvium that are tied to the value of ILV in transactions with the DAO, and can be used for things like land, travel and shard fees in game, but not transactions with other players such as buying Illuvials. no, rewards aren't autocompounding, as you can select either sILV or ILV. Its a separate transaction each time with a separate ETH transaction fee. Since there's a transaction fee, it's important to decide if its worth it to claim. If you select ILV, that will start them earning rewards and the 12 month vesting period.

Accounting for the 3% fortnightly decrease, i calculate the 12 month locked rewards rate at ~19% today on the ILV core pool, and a little over 200% on the SLP. Note, SLP APY varies with the ILV price based on how its calculated, so if the token pumps the APY will also go up.

Yes. The amount of ILV the POOL gets doesn’t change other than the slight reduction every two weeks. As individuals within that pool the reason that the amount of ILV we would get can change is due to the percentage of the staked tokens we hold changes with the total of deposits.

• You claim those rewards whenever you deem the pile to be big enough to justify gas fees

No. The game design and staking have two different teams working on them. The game takes time as does the staking contract which has undergone 3 different audits all of which have pointed out issues that needed fixing all to make it safer.

If 3 different audits are finding issues, did they find them all at once or is it a result of 3 revisions. At some point you'd have to question the developer skill.

2. The contract is an upgrade to an already existing one which cannot be revoked or edited so it's much more difficult to be written than a new one from scratch.
3. Also, they have taken what the community wanted into account so adding stuff to a fixed contract has proven to be difficult.
4. The sILV exploit pushed them to look into it with much more scrutiny and this is for everyone's own good.

If i am correct, say you staked tokens and locked them for 3 months, then the lock period is over and they are sitting in vesting with 'withdraw' as an option, they are still collecting staking rewards but at 1.0 weight.

I have some that have finished their lock and are waiting to be withdrawn or re-staked, obviously i cannot re lock them until V2 is live, however they should still be accumulating rewards at the lower weight. Thats my understanding anyway.

The sILV2 you got was to replace the sILV you held at the time of the snapshot (~20k worth by your estimation).

You can only claim that sILV as sILV2, it will never be available as ILV. Note that the currently claimable sILV is NOT staking rewards, it's just transitioning your existing sILV to sILV2.

So it's not reimbursement or any other kind, just transition. But I got 52silv in my acct 1 due to the silv/eth liquidity in uni V3, but only 30 silv2 is claimable.

Yeah that's correct, it's not reimbursement, just transitioning to the new token. I'm not entirely sure how things are being calculated for LPs, it could be a different process if you were providing liquidity when the hack happened.

Yes. ILV is governance token and revenue distributions (through staking). sILV is pegged to ILV price and used in-game. sILV is now transitioning to sILV V2 due to a previous contract hack.

SLP is Sushi Pool. Sushi hasn't changed anything 🙂 So no worries. Any new stakes you add will be directly on V2 on the staking website compounded to your upgraded V1 stake.

I tried this and it states "You have either claimed your sILV2 or you’re not eligible to claim." - I do not see a transaction with either contract and I do not remember doing it. Mods won’t dm you. Someone that’s doing that is probably gonna try and scam you. If you want to dm someone you see here feel free to do it. But I can’t imagine the team is going to get involved with any compromised wallets. The problem is that it’s a fully decentralized contract with no doxing. So there’s no way to prove any ownership except secret phrase which apparently is held by two individuals now. I know it’s bad news but it’s what the team has shared multiple times. Best of luck getting your assets to a safe place.
