In short : There was a security incident with sILV and they flooded the market to make the coin worthless. A snapshot was taken (block number is in the article) and everyone will get their sILV balance on that moment back, in the form of sILV v2, which will be deployed some time in the future.

Only from the pool on sushi. But there are a few ways to do that I guess. Like using zapper fi. But it’s all the same thing when it’s on the blockchain. Make sure you know what’s happening before you run transactions. Don’t trust links in DMs.

If ILV goes to 0 (well near 0), your SLP token would not be worth $2k anymore, unless ETH went parabolic. The price of an SLP token changes in addition to rebalancing the assets it is comprised of.

At that point, your SLP token would be comprised of primarily ILV, with very little ETH, and the price would be WAY below $2k, depending how low ILV had actually fallen.

Look at ILV as the monetary system for a game emperium like Blizzard in the future, over multiple games. You will earn "dividend" in the form of Revenue Distribution per ILV token. That alone could be worth waiting for. Look up @potent sable on youtube he explains it in super detail how everything could go ahead. Plus with the recent choices of @median canyon and @dry junco to reinvest their own money to compensate for the loses of people that used an unsupported pool just because they made use of that pool too, is something supervaluable and a clear message to me that this is problably one of the most serious projects in AAA NFT gaming for years to come. Plus there are max 10 mil ILV - the minted sILV so that means that there will be around 7 mil ILV in total forever. Think about that 🙂

There are two core pools, one for staking only ILV that gets 20% of all rewards, and the remaining 80% of yield farming rewards are for staking the ILV/ETH Sushi liquidity pair. Not at all.

IN this case 'assume' means 'calculate based on this condition'.

So what we do is say "You had 'X' pending rewards before the shutdown." We copy that value and roll it over to v2. Then we say "what would your rewards be if you stayed in the protocol with all your stakes all the way until the day v2 switches on?". We take this value and store it for you as 'Y'. When v2 finally starts, we check your deposits and see if any were withdrawn. If not, you get 'X+Y'. If you did withdraw, you get just 'X'.

This is a simplification, and the real complexity of it is the reason we can't calculate everyone's rewards exactly based on staking and unstaking for various amounts of times.

So no, we aren't guessing. We're assuming you stay in the protocol and then checking that at the end.

I think that was the best explanation of this staking pause and V2 migration I’ve heard so far. It makes total sense and answers the question to why took the dashboard offline as well. I’ll continue to patiently wait for V2

The reason why we aren't saying a specific timeline for v2 is that we are getting two audits done and we need to make sure this is done right. We don't get another shot at this. (We can make a v3, but v2 migration has to be perfect, at least with regards to security)

And because there are still things to do, I don't want to get people's hopes up. It will be the sort of thing where we announce it without a heap of warning (except the 2 week period).

As for the people that want to stake and unstake and such, they are a very small group, and when we have to choose a simplified system that disadvantages some we will always choose to make sure things go well for those that stick in the protocol. It doesn't mean we WANT to annoy people who want to unstake. It's literally just a matter of the tech. There are so many variables that we have to juggle with this that people will never really appreciate the complexity.

Even if you thoroughly understood the code, which many do, you still wouldn't understand all the behind the scenes decisions relating to all sorts of seemingly unrelated things.

Any Pending Rewards must be claimed (and you pay a gas fee). But once you claim, they automatically get vested in the ILV core pool and locked for 12 months which is compounding your rewards, so you don’t have to deposit manually. Just need to process the claim transaction 🙂

Yeah, so the basic idea is, when you stake a liquidity pool, you're staking 2 assets into it (ILV + ETH for the SLP).

If ILV goes to the moon, but ETH stays relatively static, you'd be at a loss compared to just holding the 2 tokens, since you wouldn't feel the entire appreciation of the ILV portion of your investment. This has to do with how liquidity pools balance the 2 assets in them.

There's a calculator in the pinned messages you can play with to get an idea of how much IL you might have in different scenarios.

Hey. Not atm. You can migrate (after upgrading) when your tokens are unlocked, and then send them to another wallet, but this is something scammers know too. Saving compromised wallets is almost impossible, but that shouldn't stop you from trying.

Certainly! But in many cases, the scammers are monitoring the chats. Many have been called out and they see that, then they simply change their username. If we get the long numeric Discord ID in the report, then it won’t matter what they change their name to 🙂

I didn't mean could they ban current users with Arash in their name, but ban people from joining with that name or prevent users from changing their username to that name. The name Arash comes with a gravitas which is apparently why the scammers use it and people fall for the scamming. It seems like many people get scammed because they really think it is Arash. So, preventing usernames from containing Arash may do a small part in preventing scams moving forward.

Hey Apps-- Rewards are currently not being distributed as the team has paused it while they start getting ready for V2 of staking.

Then once the V2 upgrade period has finished and the team turns on the rewards distributions again, people who have been staked throughout this entire pause period will also receive additional rewards which will equal the amount they should have received during the pause 👍

Token Allowance = permission to the pool to use your tokens. So if it is unlimited and the pool gets hacked, your tokens are not safe whether they are on a HOT wallt or Cold. It has nothing to do with other TXs though. If your tokens are staked, the security belongs to the pool you have staked in as well.

• You acquire either some ILV or some Sushi LP tokens
• You go to: https://staking.illuvium.io/staking/core
• You enter the right pool according to the tokens you acquired
• You decide whether to lock your deposit or not (if locked, you will receive more rewards from yield farming and revenue distribution, but you cannot withdraw your deposit until the chosen locking period is over)
• After approving the contract (if this is your first interaction with it) you confirm the staking of the desired tokens

Gas cannot be estimated as it is always volatile and subject to change literally every second. V2 will optimize that but still that doesn't mean we should expect a miracle. V2 optimization comes mostly with the way claiming/staking take place.

Now how much cheaper the contracts will be, that remains to be seen and ofc will depend on gas on the day you are making the deposite.

If I didn't have that confidence, I would never have bought in to begin with. The team behind it is strong enough where I'd rather have them take the time to put out the best product possible since it's a complex system than to half-ass it and put out something that's got holes in it that could be exploited within a week of them putting it out. I completely understand people wanting more immediate updates, but for me personally, the answer to your question is I have enough confidence based on what research I did into the team prior to investing where I'm not concerned. I care, but I'm not worried at this point.

But of course, to each their own! That's just my thought process on the whole thing

yes, could go the other way though, you always get rewards in the token, so whatever the price of the token is, that affects your "reward" from a dollar value.

If you own 10 ILV, and the APY is 10%. You get 1 ILV per year. If the price of 1 ILV is 1000$, you have 10k with your initial investment and another 1k. so 11k total.

Providing liquidity for ILV is done via an ILV/ETH Pool on SushiSwap and requires a few different steps compared to staking only ILV. These steps are the following:

• You acquire a 50/50 ratio of both ILV and ETH (in $)

• After approving the contract (if this is your first interaction with it), you stake your 50/50 ratio of ETH and ILV in the pool

• You go to: https://staking.illuvium.io/staking/core
• You can now stake your SLP Tokens in the Sushi LP pool just like ILV is staked in the ILV pool.

Just let it ride, it continues to generate rewards after the lock period ends.

If you want to relock after V2 is live, you can do so then.

just say you had like 1.5 slp and 2.5 liv would you get 5 liv worth of re-divs because the slp pool it does not count the eth portion?

and if so how would you calculate possible re-divs for the numbers? 1liv/2ilv/5liv/10ilv/1000ilv....? just to get a perspective.
