Hi everyone, let me explain.
After thinking it over a bit, I believe that Illuvium Zero does not deliver enough fuel. Let me explainā¦
Initially, the lands were sold to us either to resell fuel for an interesting ROI (which I strongly doubt in the current state of things), but also and especially to be able to directly fund our gameplay. And thatās where the problem lies!
Indeed, letās take the example of a Tier 3 land, which is on the higher end of the initial investment, which is quite significant for someone who just wants to play. With a total of 6 fuel extractors available on this land, we end up with the extractors at their maximum capacity, generating 450 units per day. Thatās just enough for one Tier 2 game (not even Tier 3), and I do mean only one⦠per day.
Itās a bit expensive for so little gameplay, right?
Not to mention that if you use those 450 units, you can't upgrade your structures on your land at the same time, since youāre using all of the available resources.
In short, I really think this needs to be rethought.
When you say "resources," here ... you mean "fuel," right?
(Because "resources" technically refers to carbon, crystal, and hydrogen ...)
so T2 owners are able to have 3-4 runs per month in OW stage 3, that's a joke..

Yeah, the need to make it worthwhile to own the land, I did not buy it to prospect for blueprints. I bought for the fuel supply!
They need to lower the cost of the trips in OW by 4x or increase my supply back to what it was before the nerf.
Unpopular opinion, but ...
I bought it to prospect Illuvials. That was to be the centerpiece of the game (allegedly). There is a lot of room to grow in this direction: Arena needs to really get Gauntlet and Leviathan modes humming. There need to be more modes where we are fighting based on our own collection of Illuvials.
As such, I didn't expect to be able to collect every Illuvial in the first week. So ... how many S3 runs do you need to have every day? I think assuming that we would be able to do S3 runs every day is a bit too much. And I'm saying this as a person with an auction-bid T3 and a recently bought T4. I don't need to make an S3 run every day. I won't have the shards for it, for one thing.
I expect to make runs at S1, S2, and S3 in sort of differing frequencies. For XP, why would I pay so much fuel for just training up Illuvials? If I'm low on shards, I can do that, gather resources, and pick a few fights to get a few my S1 and S2's up to fusion levels.
I'm just curious what your expectations really are, here.
I guess if I was doing turn-and-burn on the illuvials (as opposed to collecting them), then I would want more fuel. Every T5 I get would go straight to the marketplace, and then I'd really be building that "play to earn" income, here. But ... that hasn't been my focus, so I'm just wondering.

My expectation is to not get rug pulled as the little guy retail investor. Nerfing the lands fuel production 4X is a rugpull, they can call it a patch to fix the economy, which it did not do. What it did do is devalue my assest artificially by 4X. RUGPULL!
Like I said ... I'm sure this is unpopular. But "reasonable" is really, really subjective. In the "big picture," is it "reasonable" to have more than 4 S3 runs/season for a T2 land holder? TBH, I'm not sure.
I understand that is 1/4 of the previous expectation. I would love for my fuel to be 4x again. I'm not going to stop that from happening if it is on the table, believe me.

Stabilizing the economy to match supply and demand is not a rugpull. Would you rather sell 1000 solon for 1 or 250 solon for .25c? Doesn't matter. If no one wants the fuel, and there is a billion on the market, you make nothing anyways.
How the fuck do people have enough money to buy crypto land and have not even the slighest understanding of supply and demand?
And then the market floods with illuvials, no one buys them, they tank to under a dollar each, everyone cries more. Where does it end if they don't stabilize until more people want to pay to play?

Free market value is the only way. The gameplay needs to create the demand and attract more players, not decrease my supply to try to offset there over confidence in what they built to create the demand.

Yes it is welcomed, but the reality is we got back a teeny tiny bit of what was stolen from us with the patch.

Iām still building my tier 2 lands havenāt even thought about selling fuel, so my question is everyone has upgraded plots already and how? I think my highest is a level 8, and thatās without scanners and the extras just fuel dredges and recourse
Second if I do sell fuel to play in the overworld is it 1-1 conversion or do they double like when you buy fuel on the marketplace

i'm not a dev, but there seems to be some back end issues.
- Plots sometimes couple of minutes to load or don't load at all.
- roll backs
- network error occured
- forced plot reload when harvesting too fast when activity is done.
i guess team is aware and investigating to solve those issues as soon as possible.

ok so I tried to collect on a level 1 collider so I wasn't going to cry too much about the wasted time if it went wrong. Closed the game, loaded, it's back to showing full with 4 available and the timer set to finished, so I don't know whether it reset the actual timer and there was nothing to collect when I hit the button, or it did nothing on the back end at all..................and yes I've tried to raise a ticket, but that just hangs........has someone raised a ticket for that lol
So now I am recording starting at 1 hour and 43 minutes a Singularity scanner process, interested to see how off this is on a larger scale.

What is everyone's thoughts on new update?
as always with a beta game, patch day creates lots of issues, brings new features that are pretty good, and generally is just chaos for a few days.
I like that they've implemented the fuel transfer to OW, it's the reason I got land in the first place.
I play T1 plots currently so the buff on passive fuel is significant, as is the reduction in fuel prices for upgrading storage in particular, but also the converters.
The fuel full without being full issue is really the only thing I am unhappy with, and that's just because I don't want to lose any part fuel that I've generated.
Overall good, just being patient with fixes
I will say the other frustration is when changing plots and it freezes, everything done in that session will be lost, which again leads to lost passive generation. Not huge at this point, but really annoying

If a lot of people are like me, you won't see any of my fuel until I have significant excess of what I want to use in Overworld.
With only 2 T1s, that's forever away, if it ever gets there.
Your right there are probably a lot in the same situation.... however if your fuel transfers still cause the dao to mint x19 more there is still a lot of fuel hitting the market

I transferred 20 solon just to see if it worked, and to see if the was a recordable transaction I could view.
The only thing that would change with this update is people who would normally be buyers, are now using there own fuel to play OW. They were selling and buying fuel previously because they could not transfer to themselves.
I think it would be way better if transfers were 1 for 1 and there was no x19.

I have found with the plot feezing thing, a workaround that is annoying to do but works is do your collects etc, wait 60 seconds, close, open and go to second plot, do collects, wait 1 minute, close, and then open up when the alarm goes off for the next collection period. Shouldn't have to do it that way, but it saves going through the activity, having the freeze, and needing to do the collects etc again.

If you've got the time and patience, it's still better to sell then rebuy. You can usually sell at a better price than you buy if your careful with your timing/price

is the zero point traducer upgraded necessary for higher tier blueprints? While I see there are some who have 30 blueprints I have an average of 2. But I only try T4/5 so it might be that, or I figured you need that traducer upgraded. It says it is essential for blueprint minting... something we are not really doing at the moment, so I don“t know if it is just bad luck, very hard or the lacking of the upgraded version of that building. Any ideas¿
Instead of bitching about zeros constantly getting punished on the supply side for lack of demand, I felt it was time to come with some solutions. Restore the supply levels and tax the sales only. Let the harvesting for play transfer across without tax. This will have more players in the ecosystem as a result. Iām on the sidelines here waiting to produce enough fuel on my T3 to play and if I canāt achieve that, then It feels like I forked out a load for a motorbike ashtray.

Hey folks, could you help me with that: I started to play zero some weeks ago, joining with T1 Plot. I am holding and staking ILV but didnāt participate in the land sale. Itās been a while that I have been straight into the rabbit hole here.
Now with the update I am getting the info that I am entering a practice plot area (fuel / items cannot sold/used in other games). Can somebody give me some context on that or a source where I can educate myself on the strategy behind this?
From what I knew and what the marketing did manifest is: You can play this for free and produce resources that can be used in e.g. overworld VS. T1 plots arenāt able to fulfill this story.

playing on the free plot can't transfer to any other game/environment. What it can do is gain you points each season by giving you a plot that grows faster than a T1 so you can complete the missions you otherwise might not be able to. It can also get you more speed up coins that you can use on your paid plots for more builders or just speeding up things on the plot itself. So it gives you ways to earn mission points/season rewards as well as speed up coins.
scanner level is directly correlated to what tier biodata you can find. At level 1 you can only find tier 1. At level 3 you can find up to tier 3. Etc. So if you want higher tier illuvial blueprints you need the same or higher level scanner and and materials lab.
costs for scanning/researching go up each level so keep that in mind. 6/9/12/15/18 of each fuel for scanning at each level.

That helps a lot, I really appreciate your explanation. However, I believe Illuvium Zero's communication needs a revamp, especially if it's targeting a broader audience and aiming for long-term success. Currently the information on the website doesnāt reflect this distinction and it reinforces my previous understanding:
By playing Illuvium Zero, I believed I would be able to:
- Harvest fuel from your plot to grow your empire or trade it with others.
- Craft and trade unique skins applicable to all games within the Illuvium universe.
Etc.
This isn't entirely accurate since free T1 plots donāt allow those features. I even spent some money to get additional points for hiring builders, which I wouldnāt have done if I had known this beforehand.
What also confuses me: Is a T1 plot now considered a practice plot in general with these restrictions? I can get it for free by installing the app and starting to play, but at the same time, I can also buy it through Illuvidex for e.g. 140 Dollar
free plots are considered Tier 0. Tier 1 plots are plots you have purchased and they are able to do all those things albeit slower than Tier 2/3/4

yes, fabricator, fuel sites, and fuel converters are level 6 capped
Now I understand where my confusion is coming from. There doesn't seem to be much clarity on this distinction, apart from the phrase on the homepage: "Start with a free Tier 0 Land, or purchase Tier 1 to Tier 4 Land to increase your resource harvest." This is very easy to miss and the visual representation on the left side doesnāt highlight Tier 0 plots clearly.
Additionally, the game itself creates the illusion that I own a T1 plot. The filters show me T1 and on the "Plots" screen I get displayed: one of the five dots is highlighted --> making it look like I have a T1 plot.
I fully agree with you. Illuvium needs to be more upfront about the cost aspect. The whole website says "Free to Play" and in this case even lies to potential players.
In my case, Iāve invested hours, motivation and even some money to drive growth faster and more efficiently, with the feeling that it was worthwhile. Right now, however, it feels like a waste. As both a player and an investor, Iām not happy with that. Iām mature enough to understand that these things can happen, especially in projects like this, but if youāre chasing for in-game time, retention, player engagement and in-app purchases, the communication has to be 100% clear.
Illuvium Zero is a great application with great potential in terms of game economy and mechanics, but thereās a significant issue with the way information is communicated. The lack of clarity around plot typesāparticularly between free Tier 0 plots and purchased Tier 1 plots creates confusion. The in-game experience+UI, such as the filters and plot representations give the impression that players own a T1 plot when they donāt.
This discrepancy between expectations through the current webpage and marketing communication and reality will likely cause frustration among users. For long-term success, itās crucial to optimize the communication around these key aspects. Transparency and clarity will ensure that the community remains confident in the game and its economy. Without it, thereās a risk of alienating players and investors alike, which could harm the projectās growth despite its strong foundations.
Please post in feedback channel. The team needs to know this. Zero really is an addictive game and F2P features are coming, but producing fuel will never be a F2P feature.
Free to play doesn't mean free to play to earn, and if you look the wiki about IZ it is stated that you can't use fuel on free land and that it serves as a demo to get used to the game, just a matter of knowing how to read..
I can see how this would make your life more comfy being able to have more "free" runs instead of paying fuel, but I fail to see how that would actually help the ecosystem. You claim more players... that are only zero players going on free runs, not paying players. Correct me if I fail to see your point, anything constructive is always welcome of course.

there seems to be a massive struggle with saving data in Zero since after the patch.
- Longterm rollbacks when switching devices
- Loading plot screen for couple minutes when switching between plots on 1 account
- Short term rollbacks of the last plot one was playing on, when altf4 during the loading plot screen of the last plot one was playing on.
For me personally it got worse today than it was yesterday after the patch.
For example i was able to altf4 and restart the game to resolve plot loading issues for a couple hours and also didn't got rolled back.

I did notice, even before patch, if i did not log out of the game from one device and went onto another these things would happen. Not bad, like itll be off for like 5-10 mins, then start wroking agin. But was happening

My biggest fumble to date is not having my f2p land full of scanners so I can guaranteed get the āresearch x amount of timesā in a week mission, 15k mission and I had just built a first scanner on my t1 just to get it done and then realized I shouldāve covered my entire f2p with scanners and research facilities so I can just go ham on there.. not like itās losing anything Iād actually be able to use
I just said screw the f2p and now Iām trying to spam it to get a few scanners as fast as I can to get 5 researches in the next 5 days with 0 bio data so far

I think I have posted several ideas both here and in the dedicated channel for suggestions in the past, I did not say I have the solution for this particular issue, I just complimented you on at least trying to bring constructive ideas to the table (be it with selfish motives š, we all tend to look after our own interests, but letās not limit it to only that). The only real solution for you to be able to sell more fuel is getting more players hooked on overworld (and yes, I did post a suggestion on trying to achieve that). I hear you. I think we need ideas put forward. There are several here who have poured a lot into land and assets already and crapping on land owners is defiantly not the path to success. Utility provides us options. Electing to use fuel from my own land to keep me in overworld while buying assets at the same time to advance in the game is one of my strategies. We are all aware of the market argument and land asset value (which is important to some) but If the team keep kicking the legs out from under our ability to utilize the land for some sort of utility, we are goosed. Thats why I want to come here with solutions and not just give out. I am just glad to see folk still here who care enough about the project. šš» āš» š¹
I think T3/4 plots are more stubborn to sell off because they were still playable, letās see if this latest patch does anything against the selling off of T1ās although I understand the fuel is still not going to produce that many ow runs, as planned at launch thus currently staying less interesting. It will bounce back eventually, but not in the short run I fear.

If now let's say half of the land owners directly transfer their fuel and do not sell it because they also play overworld, the amount of fuel generated is not 20x land production, but (20x half the land production)+ half the land production. And that means land owners would in that example not get 5% but roughly 10%. So maybe your wish has already come true.

Not much has changed. There were 10m tokens in the beginning, I estimate roughly 500k were burned for sILV, so math is easier. Then weigh all land with tiers and you get there.

Honestly I never tried city builders before, but I must say there is not much strategic depth/choice since the building costs of the buildings enforce a certain build order. The game is repetitive and the worst thing is that it totally disrupts your day and you cannot "play" for longer than 3 minutes at a time. If it was not for the faint prospect of getting enough fuel to pay for some really nice overworld runs, I would not touch it.
It would probably be better on mobile, but I will not do this, because I KNOW that this will distract me in all sorts of situations.
i just think gamers that are considering playing ilz that have 0 understanding of how the backend mechanics and distribution work will see 5% and automatically say "its not worth it", theres a reason in sales you use specific numbers when selling things, theres a huge portion of psychology that goes into choosing the perfect #'s and prices, even if its only a few digits off the company would make more money selling something at $497 instead of $499 for instance, and i think illuvium is missing this core aspect of sales in their marketing, 10% just looks much more appealing
ILZ was planned as an add-on to the other games. There might be potential and there are some great ideas for synergies, but at least for now I dont see this.

the only game i have seen do this is NMS and they did 6 or 7 years of free content upgrades that were basically expansions/overhauls which no one has really done before for that long

Hi fam. I'm curious if anyone is still experiencing issues with power stations? I don't understand how they work.
I had a hydrogen converter at 142%. Placed a new power station, leveled it up and no change. Then added another power station and it made it to 150%. I moved everything around to see if I was losing percentages by the buildings being too close to others. nothing else was affecting it.
Can anyone help me to see how 3 power plants surrounding that converter that only needs 500 power takes so much to get to 150% I can't see what I'm doing wrong.
what's the ETA on this? I understand that's a difficult question but not being able to get fuel kinda makes it impossible to do things.
Efficiency % goes up and down based on the # of power plants around the building within a 6 square radius. Leveling up a power plant won't increase efficiency %

It's not the same across the board. There are situations where that doesn't happen.
It's not clear or represented in the efficiency mode or power mode or anything I can actually make sense of.

Leveling the power plants will not affect the efficiency %. That only produces more energy. If you want to increase the efficiency %, you need to make more power plants near the building for it to go up. The max % you can get is 150%.
Unless you have a landmark for that building, then it can go to 180%.
So it's the amount not the power? No land marks. Can you see how that is very confusing. why level up if it is the amount of power plants and not the output.it makes it no different to the Alpha. Because when you have a building at near max level, it will require a lot more power to run. You will want to increase the level of the power stations to give more power so that you donāt have to have many power plants around it.

Might be because converters get maximum output when they are next to a resource site of the same source. I donāt have any converters so cannot confirm but I think I read that before.

I have multiple converters in 6 land plots that are maximum. It seems there is no consistency, or if there is, it's too complex to work out.

I have 2 T1 plots, both have 150% efficiency for their fuel mines, both at level 4, both plots have 15% path bonus touching the mines, one takes 10h11m one takes 10h6m as the estimate............................
This does not help me. Should they all be grouped together. Why, when other buildings are at Max does adding extra not work?

What I like to do, and how I learned a lot, is first turn on the Efficiency like in your most recent image. Then drag (Move) your fuel converters around while watching the Efficiency numbers change as you move closer and farther away from other converters.
The converter was at 142% I added the power station behind, this usually works. Nothing changed, I then upgraded it to level 5, nothing changed, I added one more power station behind and it went to 150%

Wow nuts. Im going for scanning so I have to keep as many corners free as possible. Last time it was way more effective to have 3 scanners at Max than multiple at lower.

here's my current plot. I'm playing with the theory of moving the converters so that they start their cycle at 150% and only have enough power stations to run after that, so not currently trying to get all to 150% but that shows how many stations I need to get most up there.
I also use the elements to upgrade the power stations when I have storage pretty full so that I am not wasting that fuel generation, and if I decide to sell them later then I get extra resources back.

scanners still work the same, but you get capped now at 5 scanners max.
(Powerstations doesn't influence scanners efficiency, so place nearby converters wisely to not impact scanners efficiency by too much š )
having said that, I don't actually view this as a game. It's simply so I can generate the fuel for OW
and i'm saying stupid things, but this is still a beta game, the general public haven't been brought into the ecosystem so the $$ can't be there yet for owners, dev work sucks and I'm so glad I'm no longer in that space etc etc

The reason for leveling up is to increase output, etc.. Though the time table increases as well (affected by the efficiency), this is an improvement from the previous level.
The idea is to focus on both. Increase level + efficiency = maximizing output
However, you need enough power to begin with for the building to function
Regardless, I do agree, the game does 0% in helping to understand how it works

Economy of fuel and IZ gameplay need to be decoupled. A weak economy shouldn't mean playing IZ is painful for T1s, and a strong economy shouldn't mean all the IZ numbers for activities / buildings / etc need to be recalibrated, ideally.

Does anyone know if I can use my land NFTs in the game yet? If so, is there a guide or something for transferring the land NFTs? A while back I tried to transfer my land NFTs from MetaMask to Passport, but I couldn't figure out how to do it. Any guidance would be appreciated!

There are some guides made by the team, I assume they are in the pinned messages or the posts in #š£ćannouncements somewhere. If you can't find them, you can ask a mod to find them for you
you don“t need to move it to passport anymore, that was only in the first 1-2 weeks because IMX wasn“t ready. You just make a passport account and copu paste your metamask address in the secondary wallet option. Then you can play your lands.

I have 3 gaming machines min spec i9 with rtx 380 64gb ram max spec i9 4060 rtx and a google pixel 8 pro ,crashes and screws things up on every device and i only have 3 lands
haha this is why I went mostly for T3 and T4 it would drive me crazy
T4's were maxed for fuel in like 3 weeks generated more income the first month than I will in 4 months now lol

As I mostly maxed it's only harvesting fuel once a day and upgrading some reasearch labs every 3-5 days
got a t1 t2 and t3 the t1 i covered in paths to stop plants growing and its never been the same since !

i've been doing that too, but sometimes i forget lol, then i close the game while switching plots. and progress is lost. i've done the same thing 3 times lol.
if its just a quick collect resources, i have no problem. but when i start rearranging things and stay a few more minutes it takes a while to load other plots menu
