Im going to throw it on duplicate seedphrases. Yes, everyone says that it is impossible with the amount of potential wallet addresses but Metamask might be favoring certain words over others. Not making a random number but a certain order of words.

My friend claimed to have gotten a "used" metamask wallet before. Which would otherwise make no sense unless he is incredibly lucky.

If you used a mobile wallet or a different browser or computer to claim it would also not show up.

As nashraawr said, clicking the link will probably take you to a scammy website. That scammy website will want one of a couple things… your secret phrase (so they can just have full control of all your crypto in your wallet. You would have to input that phrase somewhere for them to have it.)
or for you to authorize a transaction that gives them permission to transfer as many assets as they can.
Or for you to send them tokens for some reason.

I was going to post in #❓❗〕community-help but I can't upload screenshots there. Please could somebody help as to whether this is a scam?

I did sign up for the beta, so perhaps it's a real email. But I didn't want to click the link just to be extra safe, so I went to my browser and typed the official domain link instead, inseting "play." before illuvium.io

Then there's the strangest thing...

The one I typed cannot be found

But clicking in the email takes me to seemingly the official site?

The email would be from [e-mail] but the reality is that you do not need to click any links in emails. Just sign in to the website and see if it’s working.
