LAST ILLUVIUAL CONTEST.

Proposition : Could we have some sort of pre-selection where you select the most interesting propositions from the 60 sec videos and then allow for a more in depth explanation from each candidate ?
From that point you could also weigh-in some public vote for the final decision between the 3/4/5 remaining participants.

Reason : Really struggling to properly explain in under 60 seconds the concepts and mechanics concerning the (3) illuvial(s) I'm creating. Other participants seem to be relating to that as well.

I understand 60 seconds is a good length for you to review and judge all the entries.
But as we are asked to craft some well thought-out mechanics, sub-divided into each of the illuvial's stages, this becomes quite challenging. Especially if we are to add proper dynamics in fleshing out the illuvial, its identity, its abilities, classes, affinities, what's their role in a team, what it synergizes with, etc...

Just an idea, my 60 sec video will be released and polished anyway 🙂

60 seconds is like an elevator pitch. We do something like this in sales training to focus the sales person on saying only what is important or what will get the attention.

The 60 sec constraint is valid for many reasons so there is no point in changing the format, as the contest has been going on since the beginning of the week anyway.

The pain, as you say, is real as we are asked for a pretty complex task (that ILV team really understands better than we do) and have so little space for demonstrating.

All in all I must be asking for too much, but I think a valid entry to this context is one paying attention to details, as the ILV team does in all fields since day 1. And we don't get to show how we thought about those details. I'll admit that it is what it is, and that its a game I chose to play.

I guess I'll get to expand further about the details during the 1 on 1 sessions afterwards 😇 ... hahah

ILV token : Yea I missed that! I spent hella time on that portion that I forgot that completely! 😛

Scholarships : I mentioned that. Renting out your assets. Also mentioned that this part is up in the air as nothing has been confirmed and that Polemos is working on something specifically for this.

Leviathan : I also spent half the time discussing competitive play around the leviathan arena and the gambling there. There hasn't been confirmation about betting as a spectator.

I also discuss the idea about flipping assests such as illluvials, resources, fuel and blueprints on the market!

I enjoy both designs. I was thinking the tank version makes a lot of sense because it still keeps the form of the natural shark but then again the amalgamation of the humanistic version of the shark with rock/ice is also quite intriguing and has its own appeal.

Check out my character. Bit of a scratch draft of him, but I was going for a nature like empathy that grows into a darker and darker/more powerful creator. I thought the sludge as his defining feature, that sort of takes over his characteristics as his final form.

This huge success is due to the efforts of scientists from all around the world, and nature lovers who helped to recreate/repopulate bamboo forests.
I'm a firm believer that if every one of us play our part to protect those beatiful creatures, our world will become a better place.
But! Have you ever wondered....why are gient pandas black and white?
Scientists says it's a great camouflage for snowy environment.

Also its omega isn't very innovative to me. Teleporting to the backline is already present in the game with dash line and you just added that he teleport even more to go more boom boo.

Well I am happy with the first one being a passive shield still, I want using the empath/enchanter part to make them a bit more of a support. Then the repositioning with the ultis to provide utility. I need to give it a bit more thought. I don’t wanna say something rubbish now

My idea with the glowing eyes and taking over enemies was if you have ever looked at an owl their eyes r insane definitely hold the secrets of the universe. And with the enchanter side making them slightly magical. I just wanted to manipulate enemies and make them use their strengths against themselves

Like we dont see creatures magically floating in the air, or creatures like ghosts (gastly in pokemon) or animated objects like magnemite. Not saying the egg is like those, but it is a bit less believable how it fights and moves and stuff

I noticed that you actually can't sell all illuvials, there's a 2/2 next to the energy you have, when you sell 1 illuvial, it becomes 1/2. So I guess you can only sell 2 illuvials each turn

If there's only 1 round in PVP, every turn each player put down 1 illuvial blind, then reveal, then next turn put down another until energy all used up or reach max illuvial. I guess there won't be selling phase.

Survival is different I guess.

I thought there was more than 1 round in pvpand in between rounds both players could change up to 3 illuvials?? But you wouldn’t see what each other were changing. So you do the initial draft in the first round going alternate then the blind bit at the end. Have that fight and then you can both make the changes for the next round if that makes sense. I think I see why. Whatever their Element is, the total difference in affinities will not be +8 Cuz you will also have an advantage over them. That's a strength, or maybe a stability aspect of combined affinities that are not adjacent

While Double synergy are Glass canons cuz they are both extremely vulnerable to 1 element and agressible against an other

But this is going to be extremely important in deck building. You have a limit of 30 cards in your deck or so. You cant just put all Tier 5 and stage 3s

But this might be hard to talk about before we get a better feel of game flow

Yes I try to take that into consideration. You likely wont be able to put get 8 composite affinities on the board which is why I went with 2 base affinities, but still so many unknowns about that

Well it kinda depends on the strength of the Hyper Stat boost. If the hyper boost is weak, I guess they can do a 16x. But if hyper is really really strong, they can't do a charge that fast. The whole game would be about hyper lol

Affinities affecting hyper charge is going to work with auras, we have to remember. So if I have a tempest illuvial tempest trying to counter 2 maelstrom illuvials, I would get like 32x. That's is basically instant hyper. I mean, that would be a perfect counter so it could make sense

Fact is I have no idea what their design choice will be

I'd love to hear Aaron about this actually, it is an interesting topic.

Is it affected by distance, like the intensity decreasing linearly with distance or is it a binary state(in or out of the aura).

How strong is hyper.

How fast can it charge at max potential

How slow, at normal speed

Just kidding. you left a bug in your tool. Illuvials cannot contribute more then once in the synergies. Like if you put two atlas, only one will contribute to synergy. And if you put 1 atlas and 1 Axon, so two of the same line, only 1 will contribute to synergy

Reality is just that strategy is more complex

I agree with your big comment with (Poison dust bloom etc) vs (inferno tempest maelstrom etc) but it just isnt a complete strategy

In the end, Positionning and unit Role are going to be more important then synergies IMO. If he had put a well placed tank it would have been fantastic. In addition to this, if he had used correct affinities, it would have been even better

At the very beginning, he starts focusing on (dust, poison, etc) which he repeats. But it isnt exactly the priority when the ennemy composition isnt even stable since they can change 2 units per turn (i.e. the whole team)

Your comment on positionning Axodon behind, on the 3rd round or so, was excellent on this

Simpler? Hyper isnt a thing in TFT. You dont have composite affinities contributing to simple affinities. Positions are more complex simply because of more choice. You have technically 150 units to learn. Costs are more complex, when compared to 1,2,3,4,5.

It might look easier due to fighting against a bot and the lack of a final balance

But it is not simpler

You even got a total of 20 affinities and 20 classes

Vs 15 origin and 13 classes

To be fair, our 20 class and 20 affinities are composite so they are a lil' bit easier to understand on that side
