If you lock your ILV for 12 months (the max) every single token you staked counts as two tokens when it comes to calculating how many rewards you get.

You are getting a bonus in rewards for not being able to withdraw your ILV for a certain amount of time. Depending on how many weeks you lock, that bonus goes from 1.x all the way up to 2.0

Looking at past transactions in ether scan there are tens of failed transactions with the same reason: estimated gas limit is too small, where do these come from? Usually you don't need to touch the gas limit... and this has nothing to do with the gas price setting.

transaction went through with like 2 minutes to spare

to be safe you could set a higher gas input next time

cause if it doesnt go through you lose your gas and the transaction doesnt complete

The only algorithm I found for compounding interest is:

P = principal
i = nominal annual interest rate in percentage terms

Is there a better way to calculate this because i'm confused about the = sign in the middle of the equation

It is variable. You can estimate based on current apy and projected decline of rewards but it's impossible to tell exactly what you'll get back. APY is based on how much is staked across the entire pool (tvl). So yeah your last sentence is accurate. Hope that helps!

You will need ethereum to use that wallet for transactions

So withdraw eth to that wallet and then AXS

Using ERC-20 withdrawals

Then you can stake your AXS on the Illuvium website by connecting your metamask wallet.

The saddest thing about Axie's higher barrier to entry is that it can be bypassed by getting a scholarship, so pros can still enter, but have to pay a cut of their winnings to the coach, while casual players don't enter. That's an unhealthy economy where coaches are the ones who get richer faster (way faster than the fixed hourly rate they'd otherwise get on the education market).

Well, if it were a fiat game but with a lower barrier to entry, even then it would have a higher chance for survival. What will ultimately prevent Axie grind from becoming a profession for the residents of prosperous countries is that coaches have too much power.

The students will be incentivized to grind really hard (and multiaccount if that's not monitored properly) because of being in large debt.

(At least currently, there appears to be a black market for rentals and sales of inactive accounts.)

Sorry for my rambling in the wrong channel - I've never played or invested in Axie, I just got to know it a bit to see if there's a good reason for its large mcap. I find it a bad investment, but it was the token that put NFT gaming in general on my radar, so all is good 😄

BUT, while the game will be free to play, in order to participate in the earning part of the economy a bit of money needs to be invested (not even close to entry fees in some other games though). Early on you might even be able to get to the paid regions just by grinding the free Tier 0 stuff because some people will pay for it on the marketplace to get ahead.

Hi guys, I'm using brave browser, and have been checking my balance on illuvium.io for a couple of weeks with no problems. However, when I try today, clicking the connect wallet button does nothing. I've just installed a new copy of metamask and imported wallets onto chrome browser (wanted to check if it worked before I uninstalled my usual brave extension and realise I didn't have the keys/pwords etc). Can access illuvium on new chrome setup. Will now remove the problematic MM extension on brave, and try and re-install on that. Good lesson I spose, if my computer dies I've just tested whether I can recover my accounts correctly.

You count total value locked in ilv only. Then subtract the totals value of rewards distributed. Then divide by current price. Should be close. (Well will let you know how much is not staked)

SLP doesn’t count because those ILV are actually still on the market.

And if you have ILV staked in both the Sushi LP pool and the ILV only pool, when you claim you will be paying double the gas fees as it will automatically claim the rewards from both pools. So keep that in mind as well!

Theres a lot here to answer… first you won’t lose rewards. They are yours.

You can always stake more. It’ll work together but will have to be withdrawn separately. So it’s a new separate stake I guess.

Your rewards start their 12 month vesting countdown when you claim/vest them. It takes a transaction to do that. Actually to claim rewards from SLP staking it’ll take two transactions. It is what it is. But allows for that compounding interest to start working.

Also good to note is that when you either stake more into or withdraw from a pool you will first be required to claim/vest your rewards. So make sure you don’t claim them on your own right before that.

So that's the thing I can't figure out. When I click to look at the transaction on etherscan, it gives me a dropped and replaced notice. The transaction it was replaced with deposited a small amount of sILV into my wallet, but I should have received 2.5 ILV tokens instead.
