We have a team of experts.

The number of disadvantages for us due to being remote is high, but we chose to only hire people that were really good.

We haven’t hit the mark every time but we are doing well. And we certainly aren’t taking our time. Everyone is expected to work at light speed and they do.

i think that number is the "energy" needed to play that illuvial, from what i understood from one of the AMA is that there is a max amount of energy you can use in battle the stronger the illuvial the more it costs to play it

So atlas the info on Atlas is that it's water and a guardian, but the fully evolved form of Axodon is maelstrom and harbinger. Is maelstrom a stronger form for water illuvials? And what do guardian and harbinger represent? Thanks

The basic affinities are things like fire, water, air… basic classes are like defender, fighter, rouge… but as illuvials fuse and advance stages they gain an affinity creating a bee affinity with different (more advanced) stat boosts like water+water=maelstrom and air+fire=⚡️. Classes can also be added when illuvials fuse and advance a stage (usually it’s either gain an affinity or gain a class). But the advanced classes are different than the advanced affinities in that they literally just mean they have two classes’ stat boosts. Defender+Psion=harbinger or Fighter+fighter=berserker (I think that’s the right class…whatever the name is it means they’d get at least 2x the basic stat boost of fighter)

So in the character cards here, i assume the triangle of 3 dots next to the name iswhat tier it is?
But what about the 2 on the top? Is the top right how many times its been fused perhaps? or what level it is? Do we know if you fused 2 Atlas, as an example, they would make a Axon, or do you need 2 Atlas of a certain level? or could you need more than 2?

To fuse, you need three fully (or high enough) leveled copies of the same Illuvial in order to fuse it to the next stage of that line. Usually there are three stages per line, 1 to 3, while there are six Tiers in total, T0 - T5.

Tier is fixed. Level per Illuvial copy is something that can increase. Max level is not leaked to my knowledge.

If you have a look at games in the genre they also do this as well. We have a solution for it but it requires a lot of work so we aren't committing to it for public beta and certainly not in the private beta. It's not as easy as just starting to play an idle animation in the meantime, and usually when there are lots of things going on in the battle it is hard to notice.

However, since we are upping the graphical quality compared to every game in the genre there are things that might be more noticeable with us that other games get away with on account of lower detail graphics.

My understanding is that what we see in this video is a few of the swords with different affinities. I see water fire and air. But I remember reading that the different CLASSES might end up having different styles of weapons. So perhaps a defender class would have a hammer.

You play a "Ranger" yourself. You got a character so to speak. That one fights with you on the battlefield alongside the Illuvials of which you early on have 0 to begin with.

to each their own. I think the issue is that some people will simply not like it, and others will be upset that we are going down the route of 'traditionally attractive'. And that's fine. But for this game, it is a space age race that has access to all sorts of futuristic technology. It just made sense to us to go this route. We still need to make them look a bit more alien, but we can't go too far because when we do some live action stuff it will be really hard if they are too insane.

Yes, to each their own, you are absolutely right 🙂 This includes my right to a free opinion as well though and I think that whoever chose that emoji should learn proper humor or a sense of respect. Or maybe even both. It's one thing to dislike the art direction if that's the reason behind it but there is zero room to question the skill and quality of the team behind the creation of Arlen. And that deserves some respect. And if someone doesn't like Arlen that way, a proper message stating that or describing what they dislike would be reasonable so the team has something to go on and not such - literally - shit.

We will try to get both male and female ready in time. Most of the cusomisation on start will come from your choices in armour and weapons. We have quite a few of them to do, so that's where we are placing the effort currently.

I love the new way illuvials vanish when they faint

The animation is great as is subtle and they don't suddenly disappear from the map. I love that it elevates when they fade, instead of just dive into the ground or becoming transparent. Its so fucking epic.
But I wouldn't remove completely the green spark effect while they do the faint animation. It gives satisfaction to me to see how the illuvial that you defeated explodes in some kind of pixel energy.
Also probably this animation should be quicker just for the shake of keeping the board cleaner when full of other skills animations and let the free space available to be occupied by other units. Specially in the messy pvp.

Maybe pve combat could be more cinematic and take a bit more time for the animations (?) pvp is strict e-sport mindset, performance and efficiency is the priority

When you travel to a region you have a certain amount of energy. That energy can be used for a variety of actions including scanning, gathering, battle etc. In theory you can even capture more than one Illuvial per travel but using your energy wisely and thus optimizing your spoils per travel will make a huge difference between good and less good players.

So I knew energy was a thing. And I felt there was some clear timey wimey stuff going on in the lore. But this new command brought it all together in my mind.

The travel to a region can be done for free to get tier 0. Basically maybe you just walk over there. But to travel to a region to get tier 1-5 you must pay to travel. It uses fuel or something to power some special traveling. I’m thinking you time travel to find these illuvials. The tier 0s are all over the place out in the present day wild. But the tier 1-5 illuvials are all extinct or at least so close to it to be impossible to find in present day. And so to research the mystery of the planet and these illuvials whose bones or drawings of or defendants or whatever the mystery is…in order to study them the rangers must go back in time and trap them in moz4rts time shards. Illuvials therefore are rising up from the grave in a sense. Matching the meaning of the word illuvial

I don’t really know this. Do we know what tier alphie is? I imagine the idea would be to have 5 tier 5s. Somewhat distributed around the different classes and affinities. In the medium it describes "strange shimmers" ....

I like to head cannon that Illuvials(as well as their planet?that's why it's never been found before?) are beings that are not totally tied to our reality/material realm (something kind of like that)

Those strange shimmers may be Illuvials we encounter in the wild and we use "energy" to pull them fully into our reality/plane and gain the ability to battle/capture them... Utilizing crystal shards to stabilize them here

Maybe the T0s are roaming around and free but higher rarity are the ones that usually tread in-between realms and need energy to pull them here👍

Do they have characer intros/idle movements/taunts/walking animation when you click them in illuviary? like we can turn them around, watch them above/in the side, watch their skills? Or they will only have art thats moving like the latest leak?

It's literally 88 on the list (all the doka and lynx are last in the Illuviary) so it's the 3rd last illuvial line that will be done. Don't expect it for at least a couple months and it won't be available at either the private beta or the public beta launch.

Although I will say that Illuvials are being made at a very good pace. They are tracking faster than other systems. Which means maybe more will be available on release.
