The reason for this is because some people are really attached and relate to animals they already know. Making them crazy and alien was a choice we thought would be really fun. Or more specifcally, your Polymorphic Subordinate Drone 🙂 They're like our "partner" as we travel the Overworld... lost and alone. Based on the trailer, our Illuvials are stored in Moz4rt after we capture them and Moz4rt possibly "controls" the Illuvials when we're in a battle since our character is actually part of the fight

The emoticons are linked to your PSD (the drones). In a battle you can flash an emote at your opponent. Just to say hi, or meme, or taunt them. The drone will display the emote.

It seems likely that shoebill will add air affinity to its nature affinity. Due to the tornado ultimate. I personally like the idea of adding guardian to empath but I’ve got no reasoning behind it. Just my gut. I saw something earlier that made me think these class combos may actually end up creating a new class name. I’ve always loved a good Paladin=empath+guardian...

The thing is I feel like it won’t be up to the user to construct an outcome. Take ramph... he is tier 3 ascended I believe. Looks like fire+fire. It just takes multiple tier 1 of same to make 1 tier 2. I don’t think we will actually combine illuvials with different affinities or classes. They will just naturally mature and new capabilities as they ascend. But I’m not sure

You say that like I know 😋 ... but Psion does make sense and we have seen squizz with a helmet on which makes me think fighter. So that would combine to make him a Harbinger class. But maybe he is psion+rogue=phantom? Or even Psion+Psion=Mage or something? Anyways we shall see. I like how it's called squizz but modeled as an 8 legged octopus. The shock attribute of air+fire could even be what lets him fly. Think hot air balloon.

Stage is about fusing them together (like evolution in Pokémon). Tier is how good they are. Power is how hard they are to catch (kind of)

I’m rethinking what an invoker is. At first I was liking psion+psion but now I’m thinking invoker=psion+fighter. Invoker has more of an active feel to it. And psion+psion=sentinel. Sentinel has more of a perception feel to it. Also I’ll probably keep changing my mind on these things until Aaron says I’m right. 🦤

I think the Shoebill's name is currently Shoebill, as far as I know... haven't seen another name yet, myself.

The "cat" with glasses is more dog-like in my opinion but it's based off the Tasmanian Tiger so maybe is still cat? Thought it was named Thylacine, but that might just be another name for the Tasmanian Tiger... another name was Dash which is the name of the promo NFT they did.

I originally labeled them all that way, but none of our core team could remember who was what, so i've given them a layman's name too. (For some reason they could all rememeber Thylacine so that's why its not Tasmania Tiger)

All Illuvials are directly inspired by real animals. The names of each illuvial changes from stage to stage. Those names can be derived from a variety of things including common name, scientific name, and in game affinity and class.

Mmm it sounds like you’ll literally need to merge 3 stage 1 into 1 stage 2. So you’d need 9 stage 1 copies to get to stage 3. But I think you can catch stage 2 & 3s in the wild too.

I just started playing TFT to understand how this game will be (I know it's not the same) so far it's really fun, can't even imagine how awesome Illuvium will be based on this experience.

It’s based on League of Legends champions, which basically turns every game riot pumps out to turn into gold.... But also a lot of key elements to take away for any future “auto-battler” type of game

What I love about Illuvium is that there are alot more elements to the game outside of the auto-battling game itself.. which is great as it can turn boring v quickly imo (i.e. also why Riot keeps pumping out different classes every other season, to keep the game interesting in the long run)

Yup it should be interesting with the amount of illuvials and with the ability to upgrade them it’ll keep things interesting. I’m a collecting nerd so just that aspect alone will keep me hooked lol.

One difference I see will be that TFT is set up like a deck building game while Illuvium will be more like a card collecting game. All options available at the start of the match versus you bring to the match what you own. Though the Leviathan, big PVP arena will be a little bit different still I think.

Looks like an earth affinity psion. Except this one is probably more like a stage 3 and will have an extra affinity and class. Aaron somewhere posted a bunch of names for the Lynxes but I’ll have to look it up later. Something like Arcanum Terranes.
