To answer your question, you don't have to necessarily care about the airdrop. It will just give you preILV tokens which will be the in game currency.

If you joined this discord before Feb 9th you can register for the airdrop. Which I would reccomends because if you do plan on playing the game (like mentioned) then you'll have to pay for less on game currency if/when you decide to invest. 😏😎

There are currently 7 regions planned as part of the first set. These won't all be released on launch. There's a story reason for this, as well as us wanting to make sure they all have the love and attention they deserve. I will say that only one person will 'discover' each region. Although once that is discovered everyone will be able to explore it. You probably want to be the discoverer, let's just leave it there.

Excited to find out more about the thought process and lore that goes behind choosing exclusively extinct animals in an alien world

We did a lot of research on collectibles and found that most people become attached to animals they already know (like kittens) so rather than making completely alien animals that wouldn't have that collectible feel we wanted, we decided to stick with what we know.

Additionally we have more than a thousand animations to do, and having animation references makes it easier.

At its heart it was a calculated and pragmatic choice.

As for sabretooth...? ... maybe?

That is to say, when we came up with the idea, we didn't have a lore based reason.

In the Pokémon world, the fan favorites have always been pikachu, evee, greninja, etc. (mouse, fox, frog) and people have always hated on the alien-like deoxys or whatever those were in X and Y. I personally like the idea of a foreign planet holding extinct-type animals because it gives a neo “lost planet” type of vibe

Hei dude 😄 when you like to join we can do an undersection as Squizz Squad, i thinked about it since creation that we making squad teams, so i dont think we get clan wars where eny member participate....woud be nice but i think it get more team of 3 or 5 vs team of 3-5 .... when we build up Squads then the members of the squad can also train better with each other to achieve the best possible results. Normally i done this lil later to release but when you agree we do it directly

I'm in agreement with Ami on this in that I don't think you'll be able to (most likely with exceptions) combine separate species to get anything to the next level. Because then you could just grab 9 base level ''whatever''s and get some random fully ascended Illuvial right? It seems hard to do unless there are set recipes for certain evolutions.

Anyways here's my thoughts on elemental typing, small text dump incoming.

What we know: level 1 and 2 Illuvials have 1 elemental type while level 3 Illuvials can have 2.
What we don't know: whether the extra element that's gained comes from a source other than combining 3x level 2 Illuvials.
What I think: In the majority of cases, capturing 9 of the same Illuvials at base level will be enough to unlock the second type. Given that the level 3s are 'ascended' and extremely powerful, it makes sense to me that they'd naturally gain access to another element upon becoming so strong. If this isn't the case, I suspect you would need an elemental essence or some other item when leveling up to 3, 'ascending'. This would be a predetermined essence type, for example in Axtiloc's case an earth essence.

What we know: there are multiple types of thylacines as indicated by the image leaks.
What we don't know: what determines the thylacine's type?
What I think: The simple explanation is that where you find the Thylacine determines its type. If you found it by a volcano, it would most likely be a fire type variant. This would make sense for squizz being limited to water affinity as you could only find it in the water environment.
Alternate theory: What makes thylacine special enough to have type variants? To me what stands out is that the Thylacine is a marsupial. There is one feature I haven't seen much conversation about and that is breeding. Everyone likes breeding right? My theory is that Thylacine type variants are actually 'bred'. Maybe at the game's release only neutral Thylacines are available. You grab yourself a few neutral baby Thylacines and move on. But you happen upon a strange shard-like item that contains the essence of the local flora and fauna. Maybe a water droplet shard. Your neutral Thylacine could somehow be combined with this item, making it a 'water-parent'. It would still be neutral, but unlock usage of its parenting features, i.e. the marsupial pouch. Assuming this is a level 2+ Thylacine, you would then be able to 'incubate' lower level neutral Thylacines in the parent's pouch, and in that way convert it to a water type Thylacine. This would make dual type Thylacines very rare at the start, as you'd need to 'breed' multiple types and then combine them in the level up process. This could also open up other species to have type variants if there is a relevant parenting mechanism (fish/frogs protecting young in the mouth, male seahorses, etc.)

If anyone reads this, I hope it was interesting 🙂 though it's important to say I think the rules will be very fluid and that there will be hidden mechanics to puzzle out on our own. Any theory is valid until we try it! I just like piecing together what we have as the basis for making new conspiracy theories XD Maybe my idea will give someone else an idea that gives someone the right idea. Let me know what you think!!

Stage 2 can have double Affinity. The USUAL method is that at Stage 2 they either become double affinity, or double class, but not both.

Ascended (Stage 3) are more powerful than the stage 1 version, obviously. But keep in mind that not all Illuvials have the same Tier. For example finding 9 Rhamphies will be much harder than finding 9 Atlases and it will more rewarding (because it is much stronger).

I'm curious how someone "knows" that Thylacine will have different Affinities.

The artwork you guys have leaked on Tylacine. If you compare all the pictures side by side none of them are the same. They all have different elements working around them and have different color schemes etc.

For example...

One looks to be electric and the other ice or water or something along those lines. And then if you compare that to the ascended thylacine. We'll, that's just a totally different element again.

This is old art. The Thylacine is water -> steam -> steam. It's the class that changes at the Ascended level. It goes rogue -> rogue - > rogue + psion. I'm not telling you what that class is, but happy to watch you guys guess.

The art in the game is going to be valuable in and of itself. All the characters have defined depths and imaginative colors. As far as the game goes is it going reward strategy, or is it like the more money you can spend on the game it's easier to advance. @spiral void

Oh it's going to 100% reward strategy. The PVP area of the game will be 95% reliant upon strategy I'd say at higher levels. And to capture those really tough and challenging Illuvials strategy will be needed. You'll be able to use money to save grinding, and to purchase a team of Illuvials for those things, but after that it'll be game theory you'll need to rely on to rise to the top...

yeah, id even go as far to say automated battles makes it pure strategy. If you involved mechanical skill, such as in league of legends, you can have the perfect strategy but fail at execution. With autobattlers, you are 100% reliant on your game knowledge and strategy.

As someone whose played a ton of autobattlers, with varying levels of RNG, they are incredibly high skillcap games, even moreso than chess potentially. Imagine if a Chess board could have hundreds of different pieces, with varying abilities, attack damages, HP etc. So instead of just having Pawn, Bishop, Knight etc, you can have a literal infinite number of possible pieces and starting positions to play with, rather than the static chess board we have now. The design space is gigantic. Team composition and positioning may seem relativly trivial, but upon closer inspection, you see these games are hyper complex and knowledge/skill based.

Interesting @bleak holly have you ever played GO?

A lot of these games are spatial and memorization as well as. Being able to see several moves ahead of your opponent

Walking around a life-size world chessboard picking characters for battle and being right in the middle of the action. It's a crazy proposition, that isn't technically that far off from reality. Also @upbeat viper I think the auto battler in VR might be a much bigger thing than we imagine. These auto battlers in a way are the more modern versions of chess and GO, which have stood the test of time, and there seems to be some sort of deep itch that needs scratched there.

Plus if you think about the 150 Illuvials and all the different combos with them. Woo strategy is endless.

Perhaps, similar to your views on the term "scholarship" in gaming, the term "auto-battler" is also a bad brand and representation of what the thing is.

I'll check out auto-battler, I'm not familiar with it. Saw the doc u mentioned, really awesome. Really any game that makes you do some critical thinking serves a person's brain well. If wer'e talking about the most challenging thing I've done that would be cryptography, that and high level math. Once I get into integrals and partial differentials I forget what the fuck I'm even doing conceptually. I have a few coded poems that someone would have to spend a bit of time to decipher. Best version takes approximately 200 million attempts to have a 50/50 shot.

that doesn't take into account holo chances.

Although there are ways to optimise it a lot. You would be better off fusing ones that have max stats in one attribute with ones from another. I think that would probably drop it down to something like a 20 thousand attempts, but first you'd have to have the right ones. Point is I'm not sure we want people grinding for it, so it we make it out of the realm of reasonable chance then people will just play.

I could drop it down a lot, and make it a 1 / 20000 chance.

We'll see how people think of it.

20,000 means that there would be quite a few in the game, because we expect there to be a LOT caught. (obviously more towards the weaker ones). If it was 200m then I would hope SOMEONE gets it, but it depends on how many players of the game we have.

I don't understand the second one but the first one is correct. And mathematically it would be the case that there is no optimal strategy but that uses the assumption that value would be linear based on stats. Since rare ones with lots of max stats will probably go up in value based on rarity, I would say you'd be better off 'risking it'. Sure, you could get a dud one. The value of a dud + great should be higher than 2 average ones.
