Regarding the MMO, we will be leaking things, the dev vlog is being done this week for June, that will have a bunch of content, but it's not going to be like before. Only stuff that is ready to be leaked will be leaked.

It's already a completely different game. Way more exciting seeing other people in the world and fighting with you. Illuvials as companions. Melee combat with special abilities. Bosses. New zones inside the regions. New enemies.

I've been thinking about it more and more, and it might be best for us to switch Overworld back into "Alpha" and release things as they are ready. Perhaps not content stuff like Quests (unless we're testing) but things like multiplayer and combat would be really cool to show to a small group. Many games do this

This is EXACTLY what I have been sayinggggg.

Throw Combat and enemies in the Overworld, remove the autobattler and it still won't be a gaming masterpiece, but I would probably jump in and play every week tbh.

Would make the game so much more fun, and give me a reason to level up some Illuvials, catch some new ones. Would be a shame to have the tech built but not have it playable in the Overworld yet

This is the issue, all the things we are working on now are required to take it to the next level. Multiplayer and combat the exception. But then what do you do apart from collect the Illuvials?

Obviously it doesn't become a complete game by any stretch with too much replayability.

But I'd still argue that collecting Illuvials now vs collecting Illuvials with combat is a completely different experience. The risk of dying to an enemy attack for example. The game currently has no tension or threat, and I know that was by design, but I still say it feels odd.

A quick solution while you guys work on these things could be also to release a simple and quick 1v1 or 2v2 pvp combat mode even if it's not perfectly balanced, it's still going to be a ton of fun and offer more content while the other features are being worked on. Players can choose to wager fuel or some of their collection items to spice it up in case we don't want to stretch ilv rewards to that as well. Just food for thought

Regarding the Overworld part of this leak. We should have shown it with the enemies that are in there. The intention was for an "environment leak" so they didn't include them, but it really doesn't help our cause when we are trying to show that the Overworld is no longer empty, and then we show it as empty again 🤦🏻‍♂️

You have a PvP mode where you can run into random players, a zone encloses them, and they combat with 5 illuviuls they selected in the arsenal (must choose before entering into the PvP), and when they defeat the oppenent they can receive a certain material (or whatever the reward you’d prefer), but if they lose your out the map and some consequences

You can either battle enemies or harvest illuviuls. So it’s like a dangerous task to do. You could maybe get your illuviul “eggs” snatched from you if challenged by another player

It is just one of many experieces built with the Otherside Development Kit ODK. The main advantage of any experience built with the ODK is interoperability between these experiences/games e.g, you could show up with your Illuvium ranger in these bubbles, while others show up as Apes or Penguins.

Apes and Penguins would still have their own worlds/MMOs/games built with the ODK of course. The vision is for all of web3 NFT projects to live together as web3 metaverses, basically the old promise of a 3D internet, instead of every NFT project building their own siloed Epic games.

If Illuvium MMO was built with the ODK (which is based on Unreal 5.5) it would get support for thousands of concurrent players, spatial audio, streaming via web browser instead of Epic/Steam installer etc.

The streaming tech is the best, you can try it out with launch . otherside . xyz. You will show up as a default avatar unless you have one of the currently supported NFTs.

Yeah Unreal ODK stuff is great and I think its where we are heading, not Illuvium necessarily, but gaming and 'metaverses' as a whole for sure.

I like Wilder Worlds approach with the pumpfun NFT setup they've got going that allows anyone to build in the world on a democratic system rather than just large studios who have the capital to do so.

Its much closer to something like UEFN on Fortnite or Roblox.

Having penguins in Otherside will be good for them tho. BAYC and Moonbirds will have zero penetration in any market going forward, by comparison at least.

I believe Msquared/Otherside is the best current tech, but I am willing to learn. Any role you can manually attach to your profile is found in id:customize
Anything else, must be applied to you some other way - usually through an event or something of that nature

The influencer hub role was a thing back when the Alliance programme kicked off, but I don't know if it's still obtainable, nor who actually applies that sort of thing.

@barren kernel may have some idea how to go about getting access to that channel - It used to be Tarren's territory I believe

Watched the MMO with Scoriox, Tarren and Steven.
It's got me thinking.

Are our Illuvials that we have now going to be playable as soon as we start or will we have to unlock them by playing with lower tier/stage Illuvials?
If we are going to be able to add things like armor, healing or damage through burning Illuvials or some other mechanism, will our stats and levels we get now matter as much? Is it worth spending so much more on them or should we be hoarding low TPI Illuvials to make things with?
Anyone else thinking about these things?
