The burnt assets usually get sent to a burner wallet i.e. 0X000000000000000000 orso.
The same happens to D1sks on Immutable: if you go to Immutascan and search D1sk -> go to their holders, you see that one wallet holds 270.000 (burnt) d1sks.

$50 for a stage 3 run seems expensive, because you dont just do 1 a week or even 1 day you will be doing more proabably, i thought something like:

Stage 1 - $5
Stage 2 - $10
Stage 3 - $20

Seems more reasonable for me. Maybe thats even too much. People are gonna want to do multiple runs a day. And lots of players with be from lesser earning countries who will find that hard no?

There's 2 individual lenses. The card opening lenses makes $5 makes sense. Even in ccgs u can buy super rare packs for rare cards which is kind of stage 3.

The other lens is more your world of warcraft lense with the monthly subscription. Super cheap pay to play in terms of price to playtime.

Its a hard one to pick the correct answer but with the current landscape of cheap and free games being so mainstream that might be the 'safer' option. Hearthstone with their $5 packs had the blizzard IP to lean on

But the best part about all this is it is a free market. The $5 or $50 is the upper threshold. If people don't buy it then it will drop until people do.

The topic of price is being discussed over and over, but well,
First of all, i don't recognize pack tiers on mtga or hearstone, there is only one kind of pack, illuvium brings the run tiers to the table, so we have this additional complexity,
and this goes to minerals as collectibles on the runs as well,
To me, the simple thing that should be happening is having all tiers have the same loot table, and the percentages changed based on tier.
After that, the price is much more easy to be set, right now it's blurry for anyone that doesn't know the game.

it should be described in game in detail, what change between tiers as well. So the 5$ run will compare better to the 10$ and 20$ and so on

and by tcgs, when you open a pack, generally there is a guarantee rare on the back, I don't know how this translates to illuvium

I have more curious about how the discovery of new illuvials will be for the player, will there be achievements? A personal illuvidex to scan them all? If you buy a illuvium from the market is it automatically scanned for you? How progress will feel?

I would like dev notes on illuvium levelling, and stats as well, can you level up playing pvp? Or do you need to level up while travelling? Are these systems being worked? Are they ready?

Thing with hearthstone is that you get 5 cards 1 of which is a guaranteed blue or rarer.

With a s1 run, you can get more than 5 illuvials plus resources harvested etc. So I can definitely see why it would be more expensive than your usual digital pack. 5usd sounds right to me initially.

Now the higher stages I don't quite subscribe too. It doesn't guarantee the player better captures. It just increases encounter rates and tbh I still see a lot of t1s and t2s in my s3 runs.

If they changed the mechanic that I won't see t1s and t2s. I'd understand the jump in price.

Comparing to hearthstone is difficult. To your point in illuvium you can get more illuvials for same price. But do you need more to play ?

To play a ramphyre I need 9 ramphy, and I’ve to pay to cure the shards, and pay to craft my materials, with hearthstone I don’t have all those… Comparing isn’t that straightforward.

That’s why price of a deck is important, that’s what allow to compare. What the cost for the player, to play the game ? And what’s the cost illuvium want to have ?

For the trip I agree, got some t1 and t2 way way better than some t3. That’s a balance issue. Though the principle is much more complicated for players than in current game. If illuvium doing too complex ?

With magic, I only have 1 pack. So the value of pack is easy and value of cards is easy also, rarity is simpler.

I still play hearthstone daily. I looked at what i pay for the season. im sitting around 120 euro per season. This basically gives me all the new cards from the expansion. Keep in mind that you can buy packs with gold you earn for free cause of playing.

Just want to add a tiny bit on MTG packs. There are more expensive packs - collectors. Which gurantee some rare and foil cards. Those are unproportionally expensive, but give higher chance on the chase cards in foil. It's like a gambler item.

I switch up the subject, I’ll stand by this statement until proven wrong. I know there are a few that say, I just want to roam the overworld freely without obstacles, though I bet you’re not playing the game much now.

There are others that say if I pay for travel I don’t want to be put up against a challenge and I say to that just like the acid, or plants that attack, you don’t actually die, just go back to the start like 99% of other games.

Putting Illuvials that attack you in the OW will take years and the general feedback is that’s what people want because the world feels empty.

All we need is 3 small mobile units in each region. Not NFTs just something you need to jump over, avoid and shoot. If they spot you within a distance they will follow and attack you.

The overworld won’t feel empty when we have mobile units to avoid. Not sure why people believe Illuvials are the only answer.

Everything doesn’t need to be an NFT though. NFTs add complexity and only real benefit is trading. If you kill one of these guys in Mario you don’t need it as an NFT because there’s no utility for it other than it being an obstacle in the game.

Likewise for in-game points. They don’t always need to be on-chain. If the only way of getting points to “buy” collectable items in-game is by playing the game, players will be the only source of those items. (You can’t buy the items directly, you need to play the game and get points or buy from a player who’s choosing to sell the item).

And 50$ when you have to do run only to get shards & ores, newcomer will be salty when you do run with only medium/low level shards & few ores. Usually (except really good/lucky run) you have to do many T3 runs before having enough high level shards or ore to complete an equipment and do a capture only run.
Is it still on the goal to add daily or weekly rewards from mission ? (like mine X ore, get X shards/Illuvial) Rewards could be shards typically for a capture Illuvials kind of missions.

OW was originally designed to be a simple opening of a “pack of cards” where making it difficult would possibly hurt new adoption and ease of collecting. I am all for difficulty in a game but if people are paying for each travel it may discourage casual engagement. Possibly a system that if a run was completed efficiently or with a certain amount of time you could earn points. Those points could add up so you could “purchase” exclusive emotes and possibly skins to reward players for improving and being good at the game.

The game needs to evolve to market demand, it doesn’t matter what it started as. If the game isn’t fun to play you’re not going to have much success.

Right now the game is meeting it’s “card opening” objective and it’s totally lacklustre.

People are asking for Illuvials within the game to make it more engaging, entertaining, challenging. My suggestion is to just start out with a few minions. We shouldn’t need to wait for every Illuvial to be compatible before we see roaming units within the game.

They have mentioned that a monster hunter style OW is their long-term goal. Looking from the outside in that may take a few years of dev time to approach that level. Money unfortunately is a factor and devs need to be paid. The dilemma being delay game and attempt to raise money to support that or roll out a vanilla version of the game where profit can be made to help build out the overworld over time.
