I played overworld with my friend last night and to see the potential for self regulated difficulty is crazy exciting.
So much needs to be improved but the foundation for replayability is there.
All the little details can be beta quality for now but I think we've done it.
I'm so excited for plant combat and a the capturing updates to go in

Like I don't think people realise the genius in dimensional stability when you go into encounters

You can almost always beat the auto battle if you're a skilled player and don't care about capturing characters but to give yourself the best chance you have to use the least amount of mastery points.

that just means the only advantage we are getting from winning with high stability is extra catch, which can be achieved by doing more battles. that's not very tempting tbh

however the stability system can be turned into something similar to Pokemon's shiny hunt, if we add a counter that increases when we complete a battle with for example 70% stability. and the higher the counter the easier to encounter rare Illuvials or even holo Illuvials and etc.

The advantage of being able to catch more Illuvials per battle is the energy savings.

If it costs $20 to do a travel and each battle uses 25% of your energy you could either use an expensive team that creates low stability and catch 1 Illuvial per battle getting 4 Illuvials for $5 a piece.

OR you could use a low cost team and have high stability so you capture 2 Illuvials per battle, 8 total for a cost of $2.50 a piece.

I assume itll be balanced so that it wont be quite this extreme in most cases but even adding 1 or 2 illuvial captures per run will generate a lot of cost savings.

There are no plans for new t0 because of the design. They represent every combo of primary affinity and class.

Also they are meant for onboarding. A game could have just them by itself and still be the best art in NFT gaming.

I doubt there are major plans for T0 tournaments. T0 is here to onboard players into paid tiers. It shouldn’t be a separate game where there is a lot of content as this makes T1-5 less desirable while we want the exact opposite.

I believe that 1-2 months of playing just the free version is enough to entice someone. Illuvium has been a constant grind since 1,5 years. With PB2 coming we now hear that all the efforts we put were worth it ; as the quality of sound and music are really top level.

Yeah this will be the most interesting and time consuming part of the overworld.

Im no coder or anything but i have olayed some 500 hours of monster hunter. They use the most basic pathing for all of their monsters and even then they glitch out once every 10-20 expeditions.

I would have no clue how interactive environments such as the plants that give way when there is weight put on them would affect the pathing of illuvials. After all, you cant just have the ranger stand on a plant and have the illuvial stay down there doing nothing. It should come after you into the trees right?

To me this sounds insane and would require a whole new way of looking at implementing pathing.

The good thing is i dont think they will need to wait for all illuvials to be integrated to release it, even a few illuvials per region is significant to what it does for the game and then they can continue to add as time goes on

hopefully that would work with the lore and mechanics if some of them are out and about lol and the others arent

All the illuvials will have to use a similar pathing script. Some fly, some run and crawl but that is animationwise. MH has the same pathing for all monsters but it is just sucky.

So im not really worried that it becomes hard on some particular illuvials, it is that the pathing mechanics themselves should be AAA and that to me seems like the biggest hurdle.
They already have the 3D models fixed and can add movements to all illuvials. Thats something they have shown to be excellent at and should not be the biggest challenge. My reasoning for the pathing being hard is: if a studio, that has 6 AAA titles in this genre, still makes use of glitchy pathing, then it will likely take massive brainpower to top that 🙂

The lynxes could only run in packs and you have to separate one of them before beginning the fight cause the pack will destroy you. Kukka runs so fast that you have to surround it with several players or make it run into a cave to catch it.

And then, the Leviathans roam the world like a fel reaver in Hellfire in WoW and if you dont run you die instantly.

What i understand is that halcyon Sea never went underwater, no fishlike illuvials except squizz and pistol shrimp,. An atlantis like place where you really go underwater but of course you need to reach certain requirements/build certain gears for you to be able to go underwater. And lets be honest we need aquatic illuvials that dont have legs. It will come a point where players would demand for those type of illuvials.

That's the good thing about them all being so different, something for everyone. I thought that Crystal Shores with the buildings was just too much - too bright and too pink. But lots of people love the look. I prefer the buildings on the darkness of Shardbluff and Abyssal Basin. BUT I have to say that Taiga is pretty amazing too.

The animation of m0z4t coming into the screen will play only once if you have like 100 d1sks to open, right? When you enter the open d1sk screen on the first d1sk you see the whole thing. Then it just repeats from the middle. In order to not get annoying and lenghty.

It will make it more of an interraction with your drone, than a video you see every time.
