I have a question regarding graphics, why is it that these leaks while amazing still doesn't look "best", if that makes sense. What's that thing missing (or improvable) from the renders so far? Is it the use of environmental elements such as smoke or dust, or just plain having more details on the 3d models? I'm legitimately curious, just can't pinpoint exactly what layer of visual that is that push it to the next level like the top AAAs, or even if you look at recent Unreal showcases

If I had to guess it's >50% in the lighting, the whole path tracing stuff

The main difference i see between Illuvium and Horizon is the vegetation which is much more scarce in Illuvium. I have a feeling like there should be more vegetation and it should be more random. Right now when comparing these two games i see that in Illuvium the plants are planted with so much precision that it feels a bit unnatural. While in Horizon everything is covered in plants and the randomness gives it more natural feeling.

Detail is not aliased well in game engines

by reducing the amount of detail and instead focusing on interactive physics we will have a more immersive experience in the end

Life has been challenging lately and today was an especially crap day. It took me three times of starting and stopping to fit in the leaks video but I finished watching and glad I did. Everything is gorgeous of course but what I really loved about it was that I laughed so much. I mean, Grant's laugh is infectious so I knew I would, but little Tatopee with his tongue out and the noise he made had me rolling. Then finding out that Grant is the one that makes the adorable Atlas noise?!?! THAT'S some serious talent. I was feeling in a lot better mood when I ended the stream.

I think that is something special about Illuvium. It's going to be a serious game and challenging to play. However, there is humour to be found in the Illuvials. I think some games are too serious, to the point of being depressing. Illuvium has a fun side. Just like reality, when life is hard it makes all the difference to just be able to laugh for a bit, the same makes a game better too.

Oh and if Andrew scrolls through: Admittedly, I am an easy laugher, but my husband is not and you made him laugh so hard he was choking on his dessert when he heard your T-Rex. That was really priceless. 😆

So I showed a few co-workers Illuvium today and they watched some trailers and looked at the game art. Their reaction was amazing watching when their jaws dropped and said these graphics are sick!! I told them these were digital collectibles and were scarce and can be fused to create more powerful versions with a chance at holographics. They said oh kinda like NFTs right. I had to giggle cuz they have never talked about crypto before. Web 2 gamers will come just got to show them the amazing game!

@old sierra I’d think that a zoom in would look better when the avatar is running or flying with the jet pack at full speed.

When we are left behind it feels like we are an onlooker not the player, there are animations and effects we miss when being further back, and also if you were to sprint or accelerate quickly on a motorbike you feel your focus shift to a tunnel vision rather than an awareness off all the things around you.

It’s a small detail though has a big impact on immersion.

I understand the team wants to keep feeding substance to Andrew for his videos,but it is not cool to let it die and force people into watching 1h30 videos.
