Kind of but it's not a good 1:1 comparison. You DO need paid land to earn from Illuvium: Zero, but you don't need paid land to play Illuvium: Zero. Owning land also doesn't have an impact on your ability to play Illuvium (main game).

I might be old school, but pay to win always inferred that there was a competitive element to the game, where you were paying for an advantage over another player. If we're using a definition of "Pay to get something", the whole idea of land is pay to win. You buy land, and then it makes things. There's no bypassing that with skill etc.

It's pretty ridiculous. There's some other factors at play as well. Land location, adjacency etc. actually matters with the way things are a set up, so it's not fair to treat every plot of a given tier as "the same" for pricing purposes. A T1 that completes a 3x3 segment including a T5 plot is likely much more valuable than a T1 adjacent to water and not nearby to any higher tier plot.

pay to win is definitely hard to define and this discussion has no end. The extreme points can be pure skill based game (zero monetary involvement whatsoever at any given point) and pure money based game (more monetary involvement = more power till cap).

However, the best would be the find the balance instead of extremes. Being said that the balancing line should be more towards skill based because even if the game itself isn't pay to win natively, the factors of black market trading should be considered and accounted for.

If you need skill to increase 'power' ingame, this skill can be easily purchased outside the game's ecosystem and then once the power is gained the person can 'win' regardless.

Fuel is used for travelling, curing shards and creating equipments.

You will also be able to create skins through scanning illuvials and making blueprints.

So in this case, in-game purchases means that the players will purchase fuel from the dao. 5% of that revenue will go to illuvium zero players.
Trading and other player to player actions will not cost fuel, so are not part of in game purchases.

Since each type of fuel will become an erc 20 token you should be able to trade them with others.
Though they intend to use a balancer pool for it. So you would sell your fuel to the pool, get eth back, and the other party would spend eth to get the fuel out.

I need to write an IIP prior to the sale launching that gives the eDAO the authority to temporarily pause the sale and increase the starting prices if they are continually bought at the top. That is one of the ways that GAS can start creeping up. I haven't discussed it with the council yet but we will need to talk with the community about it anyway

I haven't been able to find an answer to this in any interviews or docs yet - but has the team addressed how they will fight the securities laws in terms of ILV paying out revenue? There's been a few projects in the last that dumped RevDis because of legal advice (eg NFTs on Solana). Wondering if the team has a strategy or lawyers ready for this since RevDis is a huge part of the story?
