Illuvium is not P2W (Play To Win). There are two separate PVP (Player versus Player) Arenas.

Ranked Arena: In ranked arena all levels, enhancements and boosts will be normalized for fairness. If you own the 1st stage of an illuvial, then their higher stage forms will be unlocked for you to use in ranked arena.
Leviathan Arena: This is where whales will duke it out with no limits. All levels, enhancements and boosts will remain intact. This arena, is pay to win and for whales or hardcore grinders.

The closed beta is not meant as a "have fun playing the game and get early knowledge" kind of thing. The beta here is actually meant as a real test to find bugs, repeat mundane tasks over and over to figure stuff out, try to break things etc. in order to make the final product as robust as possible.

Unfortunately, Betas have been demoted to mere marketing tools by now and do in essence not even remotely what they should anymore. Luckily and hopefully also after execution, this is different here 🙂

Well, some kind of multiplayer part is obviously wished by many so it could eventually be proposed and approved but how it would turn out is impossible to say at this point in time. That doesn't mean people cannot come together already to form some form for sub-community. There just isn't any support for it in the game right now. I doubt though that we would open "guild-channels" here or anything like that but who knows 🙂
