Illuvials connect predominantly with one of 5 elements: Water, Fire, Earth, Air and Nature. The most powerful Ascended form affinities with two elements (Frost = Air + Water), or a stronger bond with a single element (Inferno = Fire + Fire). Make sure your team is strategically chosen. Your Archeleon might be strong with its Overgrowth Affinity (Nature + Nature), but in combat with an Inferno Illuvial they will be at a severe disadvantage so choose wisely.

check character leaks. It goes over what I mentioned. The conclusion is, either you can take base illuvials and somehow upgrade them in "rarities" separate from tier. Because we already have a T0-T5 base illuvial thing going on.

My understanding which I think was incorrect now was that you could use T0s to make T1s, I now realize this is inaccurate. The only way to go up in Tiers is to find them, but when fusing you can increase their stats and such. Make them have better affinities/classes that are optimal for the illuvial and also have the added benefit of being able to make holos...

I mean...a 27 -> 1 conversion seems like it should definitely have some benefits.

I mean it makes sense though, with 5 affinities, 5 classes, it makes sense that there are 5 rarities because there will be 5 Tiers of monster
