As I understand, the point is to keep price of ILV stable i.e. the flappy bird flies between a range. Every time the bird comes down the bottom pole goes higher up or the higher pole comes down. I assume the poles are $value of of tokens? Lets say we start with 2:98, ETH sky rockets vs $. Now we have 0.5:99.5. After 7 days they "team" will buy ilv and sell eth to get it back to 40:60 and vice-versa. Is this correct? Therefore we have a adjustbale floor until it goes to uniswap then it is free float.

Hmm yea I think the flappy bird analogy is causing a bit more confusion. The main point of the pool is to prevent bots buying up the token and inflating the price (front running). Every time the bird comes down, it's because of the mechanism of the pool itself putting a downward pressure on the price/bird as no-one is buying.

Are we preventing price going too high, or price going too low. Both right? if price goes too high, then the way to bring it down is by releasing/selling more ILV or providing/buying more ETH. And vice versa.The 7 day rebalancing will just do that right? Get things to that ratio of 40:60. If yes then how?

Again, not accurate. The way the price goes down is by a linear adjustment of the weight of the pools that happens automatically.

Think of it this way. There is a bucket with a hole.

Water slowly drains out.

But people put more water in.

That’s the balance. Except people don’t put water in, they just buy which increase the price of ILV.

Even if people do buy, there is always downwards pressure.

But maybe the upwards pressure is more than the downwards. Who knows?

You can look up how Balancer Liquidity Bootstrap Pools work, but I don't know how much simpler it can be. The weights adjust over time. If nobody buys, those weights adjusting means the price of the coin has to go down.

so the price of ILV goes up

And over time the weight changes, linearly. There's no 'ifs'. It just does that. No matter what.

The only thing that is variable is how much ILV is left.

That's why these are fun bc y'all are starting to realize the game theory that's involved. That and it is one of the fairest ways to launch a token. With the other one in my opinion being a bonding curve

Given you release the token it at a higher price, it will go down for sure. But isnt the fair value in that case when the token asset becomes equal to reserve value? unless there is buying pressure?

Now in addition to this they are adjusting "weights" on a linear basis over the given time. Therefore your reserve asset is value is increasing with time and therefore your floor is adjusting higher with time. So a crash and then, slow upward adjustment to the floor..

I get what you are saying but I don't think with tokens you can ever call it a fair value like with stocks. With stocks I can build a model of cash flow to get to what I feel is a fair value. However, in crypto, the demand has so much of an impact. It's like Cree said earlier if this project is as hype as we think it is whose to say it doesn't all sell within the first few hours.

In the beginning when I was working out what I wanted to start, I was spending roughly 20 hours a day in between trading, researching, and coming up with different project plans. Nowadays, I have dropped it back to around 16 on average. But sometimes I do 30 hours + straight, which are the real killers. I'm going to take a few days off soon to get my sanity back. This has been one hell of wild ride, and its been so quick but there is always something else to do. We gotta prep for this DEMO plus public sale and its intense
