why do some people in the council voting process already have 100-500+ ILV to vote with. If those are from the private founding rounds its pretty pointless to do the council vote at all. They can just singlehandedly vote in whoever they want. Shouldn't they abstain from voting?

I disagree here in the long run, if big IP comes in, they have all sorts of conflicts of interest between equity and token holders. They cannot push incentive alignment with players anywhere close to what ILV has done because they have legal obligations to shareholders. Sure, players might see them first and play their games for a while, but its not what creates robust and sustainable ecosystems. In the long run, they cannot compete with games like ILV on anything except IP and brand awareness to be honest.

Theres 2 major innovations for gaming with blockchain, the first is true ownership of assets. This is an easy to understand concept that will bring gamers in the door. However, every crypto game will have this by default.

The really big innovation though, and the far more nuanced one, is incentive alignment. You can create 100% incentive alignment between players, game studios, third party devs etc, by using clever token economics. Like ILV have done with their 100% revenue through the token model, and putting majority in community hands. This is what will create seriously sustainable and thriving ecosystems and is what will keep gamers around for decades to come. Its just going to take some time for your average gamer to wake up to this, and its part of our job to make them realise it ๐Ÿ™‚
