I got fucking wrecked by the new Trait Purity Indicator (TPI) v2. I bought a bunch of 90+ hi dollar Illuvials, now they are at 80-84ish. Like wtf?

It was actually changed a long time ago, just didn't get put on the site. I tried telling people numerous times in different channels to look at the hex and not the TPI when purchasing but I really wish something had been put right on the site like "TPI is not accurate" right at the top.

At the beginning we were buying based on hex and many thought they had perfect Illuvials until TPI came out and said they weren't perfect because the TPI was based on other stats as well. The complaint was made that we were purchasing based on stats we couldn't see so it was changed and Aaron wrote a blog post about it but yeah, nothing was on the site so people kept buying based on the TPIs.

I was one of the ones who was very unhappy to find out my perfect hex Illuvials didn't have perfect stats after all. I pushed for this change and think it is a good one
That said, I understand @novel oak .
I was scared people were still looking at TPIs and would feel this way.

But it was announced. Unfortunately with the team stretched thin we have to try to keep up with all the announcements ourselves until they have time to change things.

Something that has the range to deal damage across most of the board does not rely on movement speed, but greatly benefits from attack speed and attack damage.

The opposite is also true. The range on that one is 13. It will need to move to do damage. It’s not a dps unit. It’s a psion with inherently low attack speed and low attack damage. Not super relevant to have high of either of those.

It is still an amazing Rhamphyre and performs exactly the same in Arena now as it did when you bought it. Long-term hold, it ia a good one.

I tried to be involved with multiple projects a few years back and have given up. It isn't just Illuvium, with all of them if I don't constantly check I am lost. I hold some stuff in other projects but don't pay attention, which I am sure costs me, but we all only have so much time.

In general the Average TPI has dropped across all Illivials. Except those that has perfect or almost perfect stats. And you still need to pay attention to the actual stats more than the TPI, when looking for Arena/fusion. I think it may be a bit too "strict" in some cases... but again, nothing has changed in terms of actual strengths... just have to get used to the new numbers I guess 🙂

This year is all about Overworld, and honestly, you don't need to understand TFT to win Overworld matches. And yes, if the idea is to show the new community member that it is possible, it really is. With dedication and a lot of gameplay. In the beginning, I only lost, and even today I lose more than most of the top players, because I try to improve my game in every aspect. In this meta, I didn't use Revenant once, only in games that give composite in round 1.

T4/5 are the rarest illuvials on the map so there don't drop that many of them.
All in all you won't get every run some high tier/stage good stats.
Which is good in my opinion... if there is every run good stat illuvials, there is no wow effect, no rarity and no point of having stats at all.

when i spin ADR. i use mostly small packs. better open 9 small that 1 big, more chances for good stats. and i got T5S2 DH from basic ADR.
and for runs stage-3 - you still can pick resourses, and get exp for your team.
all other like high stage illuvials, or good stats = random.
but at high amount of runs you can got statistic: every 5 run you ussualy meet T5S3. every 20-25 runs you meet DH. etc

In Brazil, it's literally dawn, so if a Brazilian reaches the final, they'll be playing until morning. I don't know how I'll do. But I understand why some tournaments are held at that time. If I'm not mistaken, WEB3gaming is from Australia, and I think it's fair to have a different time zone, even if it puts me at a disadvantage. Even if I'm wrong about it, if there is a qualifying time to benefit the East, there must also be tournaments.

I think those were just testing phases in early beta. For a month it was holos and DH so they could get an idea for drop rate balancing. You can still go catch them, but I think they would only count for points if you caught ones that were on the bounty list.

They do show up in Gauntlet though, so that's a good reason to catch a few.

yes, i already know the case wherein if the battle is a close fight like almost all of your illuvials lost, what actually happened is, you really did lost the battle.

but this was not the case. im only doing a stage 1 run. im 100% sure i did win, hell, even my ranger was alive.. but that happened. actually 3x in a row. so i decided to spend all remaining energy to gather ores and plants

If you want to know my personal opinion it needs to polished before hosting such tournaments. It's disgusting to watch one unit solo killing half of the enemy team. You call them meta I call them bugs . So the best bug abuser wins .

Leviathan is the same arena / gauntlet game but when you pick a unit from the shop, it puts an actual illuvial that you own. If you don't own the Atlas you put ont he board, it will be level 1. If you do own an Atlas, it will select the highest level one in your collection and use that, so might be level 25 or 40 or something, with its own individual stats.

It might not sound like that much of a difference, but it really makes you feel it when you play.. it's not just a game.. it's YOUR team in there fighting.

I agree, I have sent feedback like 10 times that they should remove the need to hold ctrl to free look. I used to LOVE all the cool camera work, but since they made you use CTRL to do it, its annoying and I barely ever do it anymore.
CTRL should only be used to move the drone, like it used to be.
I am really hoping they change it back or make it optional in the settings.

I heard it was something about the drone movement in the carousel, they didnt want you to have to use ctrl to move the drone, so they made you use ctrl to move and the drone just moves with right click. Right now, you can level up an Illuvial to 60.
Absolutely free. In 0-stage Overworld.

But in practice, it will take the best years of your life.

So in the real world, you have to pay around $10 for each run in 3-stage Overworld.

What if we did something similar in Gauntlet?

If you play F2P Gauntlet, you get experience like in 0-stage Overworld.
If you play Leviathan Gauntlet, you get more experience (roughly like playing in 1-stage), because launching a game in Leviathan is still free.

Previously, for my vehicle to run in Leviathan, I had to refuel it often, paying $10 per run in Overworld.
If now you invent a free type of fuel for our vehicles, it would, to some extent, casualize Leviathan again, blurring the line between wallets and F2P players.

It would be cool if leveling in Gauntlet Ranked was minimal, in Leviathan Gauntlet it was moderate, and in Overworld remained unchanged.

Alternatively, experience could be sold in the Battle Pass (naturally, at a very high price).

• F2P players start receiving a tiny amount of experience (like 0-stage Overworld currently);
• Leviathan players start receiving several times more experience, to siphon traffic from F2P Gauntlet;
• reaching the highest levels still remains an expensive endeavor (for example: keep the main leveling in 3-stage Overworld, but add the option to buy experience for a large sum via Battle Pass).

If a whale doesn’t want to grind in Overworld for months, I’d be happy if they throw their Mercedes into the Battle Pass and get 60 levels that way.
But if leveling in Leviathan is absurdly strong without financial investment, you risk negative feedback from part of the community.

The idea itself (Team Builder) and leveling in Leviathan are excellent.
But please, calculate everything very carefully beforehand. Or gather feedback. This approach could potentially be almost risk-free, and it would give the community a sense that their opinion matters. That’s another plus for karma.

If the amount is set really tiny and maybe adjusted a little bit up over time to find a sweetspot it's totally fine to get exp via arena play.
Leveling is in my opinion the easiest to implement and most appreciated/straight forward mechanism to keep players engaged.
I hope that tool is used right and people are engaged for a long time and not have full leveled decks after grinding arena hard for just 2-3 months.

Another aspect that should be carefully considered before release.
Imagine the following situation: you’re playing with your Illuvial Rai. It has decent stats—say 25/30—and you’ve leveled it up to 60.

Then you see a whale (for example, Spoon) putting up a perfect Rai 30/30 at level 1 for sale.

Scenario 1:
In Team Builder, you can choose an Illuvial for play, and that same Illuvial will gain experience. You’d have to pick your 25/30 level 60 Rai to avoid losing.
Then you hesitate—should you buy Spoon’s perfect Illuvial? After all, leveling an Illuvial from scratch is inconvenient in the current setup.
Conclusion: trading on Illuvidex slows down, and Illuvium earns fewer commissions.

Scenario 2:
In Team Builder, there are two separate choices. For playing Leviathan, you select one Illuvial.
For leveling, you select another Illuvial.
This way, enthusiasts will keep spending money and constantly re-leveling their Illuvials.

I say this as someone who has re-leveled many Illuvials to 60 and is now even thinking about re-leveling one again.

And there’s no need to be afraid of that. Previously, some key people were afraid to raise the price of 3-stage Overworld to $10. They said no one would spend their money.
But now I see that there’s intense competition in Overworld. People aren’t just spending $10 per run; moreover, they’re spending huge amounts on ADR.
Leveling instantly is fantastic. The main thing is that it has to be very expensive. Very.

Have to say Iam really looking forward to the Battle pass, Iam playing Gauntlet pretty much everyday and soon that will transfer into points and extra rewards just for playing

For me it really depends. As you know, I am not a great player in Arena but I still like playing it casually. I have a bad rank and lose more than I win. I want to know how much XP Illuvials get, will it be dependent on placement? It all comes down to levelling for me and how it will compare efficiency wise for number of XP received. Also, will I be able to choose the Illuvials that get the XP like I can in OW? Arena is what I play when I don't have the time for OW, if it becomes a hassle of having to move a bunch of Illuvials in and out of a second account (am I even allowed a second account???) to make sure the right ones are getting the XP it won't be worth it.

As for the rewards it would take me so long to get them. I would be better off spending the money to buy them. Worth it for good players though.🙂

I do think it is a great idea. We need Arena to be bringing in money not just handing it out.
