I rented Phylhiss my perfect stat Phyriox. That was pretty cool to be able to do that through Polemos.
Steve probably no one would want to rent tbh, Level 60 but stats aren't great. Getting him to be the 1st Sear in Illuvium meant working fast not worrying about stats.

I will take Steve to explore OW. That's the game I am looking forward to.

I’d like to leave some feedback.

The website has a confusing time system.
In the top left corner, there’s a small (hardly noticeable) date, while to the right, there’s a huge timer. This creates confusion. The interface should be more intuitive.

For example:

Top line: time left to register
Bottom line: tournament start time
That way, each line has its own timer with a short explanatory text.
Also, this would make it easier to understand the information across different time zones.

This is true. A good portion of us got into P2E gaming early and made money. Then we got wrecked for 3 years straight. I don't see this area growing again any time soon. I certainly won't spend anymore money. Just not viable, especially on IMX

I think long-term this only works as collectibles. If the end goal is to compete and earn ILV, I don't see how it's a never-ending down cycle. Will be constant selling pressure. And if the team relies on the price of ILV for funding the game, then I'm pretty sure we aren't going to make it

i feel if you introduce a number like a TPI, it should be fix.
Probably gona be THE Value which is giving illuvials it's value and connects it emotionally with the owner.
If TPI gets thrown left and right and with that the value of the card i would assume most consumers would feel very bad about it if the value gets changed to the negative side.
Kinda like having a PSA 10 pokemon card and then it gets downgraded to a psa 9 over night 😄

This is probably due to the thresholds used in Arena. It’s something that I’ve thought about looking into that goes back before trait purity.

Basically in Arena there are 6 values (0-5) but the actual number on the card is huge. So two cards in arena can have a 5 but one can be “closer to 100%”.

A fix of this would be all games are forced to use a 0-5 system. I guess we wanted to leave our options open. Another option is to let Arena use the full number, but then stats wouldn’t be 0-5 they would be 0-100%.

Any thoughts?

The option to "force all games to use the 0-5 system" is much better for perception.
The point of introducing Trait Purity was to simplify the perception of Illuvial strength.
In fact, Trait Purity does the opposite.
This feature complicates the perception.
We have an intuitively understandable system. From 0 to 5. Trait Purity is a useless feature.

Changing them in Arena to make sure that the issue of 99/98 doesn’t happen is also problematic.

It provides a single number which can tell you about the strength of an illuvial in every game. So it’s not useless.

And it doesn’t remove the 0-5 system for Arena.

If you ONLY want to know about a unit in arena then just use that.

Others will want to know how good it will be in other games.

For example the issue of 99/98 @timid willow Posted makes sense when you realise in most games, the 99 unit will be the better one. It’s just that in arena for SOME units, it might be off by 1/100

I dont know... I assumed that if something is 6x50, it's just maxed out... How can it become 98% I just don't understand... and conversely how a unit with HP 3 can have a TPI of 99% is beyond my comprehension.

I haven't found the system or conversion described anywhere, only the very theoretical example in the "announcements link"

Why, for example, isn't the "amazing table of value weights" for all Illuvials published? For example.

I have a junk Illuviall with total stats "+120% and TPI 78 and conversely Illuvials 5x50 unit with purity 80 ...

Or a Singe 5x50 with low OP (which never had any function for this unit !!) TPI 97...

And I've only gone through a small part of my more than 900 units. For most TOP units I see a large reduction in TPI compared to their real current stats (270%, 280%, 290% and 300%) 😦

This "TPI value" is very, very unpredictable and mostly changing value and price of units... And I still don't have a collection like Alexa, for example 🙂

So the answer should be YES, the stats will be erased and will change in individual game modes according to the "total TPI", right?

Exactly, so that the TPI 50 would be exactly the same as other TPI 50s, even if they originally had different stats (different combat and tactical focus for example)

I'll try and make it easy to understand:

The card, when you catch it, rolls a VERY BIG NUMBER. We will pretend it is up to 100, but it's actually much bigger.

If you roll an 87 on a stat, in Arena we make that 5. If you roll a 100 on a stat, we make that a 5.

TPI is calculated of the big number, not the 0-5 number.

So you could get roll of 87, 87, 87, 87, 87, 87 (TPI 97ish) and that would be 5/5/5/5/5/5 unit in Arena. You could also roll 100/100/100/100/100/100 (TPI 100) and that would also be 5/5/5/5/5/5

And in the case you pictured, it's probably something like

87, 87, 87, 87, 87, 87 (TPI 98) VS 85/100/100/100/100/100 (TPI 99)

I bought her because I slid all traits to 5 and she showed up. Indicating a perfect Illuvial.
Yet, if I put the purity trait to 100 I have no items. I have to lower it to 99 for her to show up.
This makes no sense to me. A perfect stat Illuvial in my brain should be a 100 purity trait Illuvial.

It's because you're buying it just for arena. A TPI of 99 is not as good as 100 when you look at all games. This is a necessity of making a system that can exist for games that aren't even created. It's literally impossible to do what you want unless we say all games must have exactly 6 stats, they must all have the same value and can't change. Which we didn't want to do.

Have you thought about implementing another scoring system in gauntlet that would roughly indicate the power of a team?

Example:

• You have 5 T1S1 units and 1 synergy activated + T0 weapon/suit --> 1000 power
• You have 3 T1S2 + 3 T3S2 units and 4 synergies + T3 weapon/suit --> 1500 power

The goal wouldn't be to have an accurate number because it would be extremely complicated to find a good calculation but also because it would decrease the skill expression by a lot

However it would be great to understand what's going on especially as a spectator, it would be similar to chess engines' evaluation but instead of it being so accurate that players would be cheating if they saw it, in this case it would just be a rough estimate to make matches more entertaining for spectators and it would slightly help newer players as well

Note that a 1000 power could still win against a 1500 power depending on affinities/positioning/augments etc but it would never win against a 3000 power

We are currently teaching a machine learning algorithm to predict match outcomes. The idea is to use this as a prediction bar for competitions. It wouldn't be a 'power number' like you say, but it would give the odds of a team winning a match against another team. I'm not so sure a power value would be good. It can be very misleading.

As far as i understood it is also likely to be good in other Games, but maybe not perfect.

For example a scoriox character is totally about dmg, he likely won't fullfill a Tank role in another game.
But maybe there's an additional stat needed which you can't See now, and there your scoriox might have not perfect stats. And this new Stat will replace movement Speed in the new game.
That new Stat might be in bin6 with a low weight, since again scoriox likely stays in his dmg role and those stats will likely always be in the heavy weighted bins

Zero hasn't been developed to the same degree as OW, Arena, and Beyond. Furthermore... it has recently been decoupled from the economic ecosystem. Any fuel you produce gets burned for a share of 5% revenue as Spoon said. But there are no plans to meaningfully develop Zero further any time soon.

Deveopment allocation is all in for Arena, MMO and Beyond. Because that's where they believe revenue will come from.

Once those games are well on their way then maybe Zero will get picked up. But there is no real motivation for the team to do so because Zero is not a revenue generator (at least the way it has been designed so far). And therefore it doesn't serve them to develop it.

That simply will not support player activity... even I did not build my dream team for Leviathan with 20x 300% stats... And at one time I was running 30 runs of OW a day... and burning over 20K fuel a day.

Now I have 1.4 Mega fuel left in stock before fuel and OW closed 😦

Reality is that the old fuel economy was fucked. The only way to make it sustainable was to decouple Zero and set a static fuel price. That's what EP1 was all about. Emergency Proposal 1 that happened behind closed doors. The result is what we are getting now. Understandably it was necessary in order to create a sustainable economic model. But the byproduct is Zero being sidelined.

But again... the consequences are huge. You can't just sideline a major component of the ecosystem without backlash and consequence. And therefore, Zero will need proper attention at some point... otherwise it's another thorn in the side of the project.

The main mistake was that the unchanged production of Zero was allowed to run... Even though the end of the season and the announcement of the nerfs effectively ended the activity in Zero (December compared to September, the number of runs decreased by 80%? Even though the price of a run was 20% compared to September?)

But it shouldn't be a big one-man show, where the main designer changes his opinions every week and as a bonus he leaves 2-3 people from the team who don't agree 🙂

OW was very fun, we played for a long time even after the end of season 2 (still in November 10-15 runs a day), but as soon as Kieran started publicly announcing that the stats were OP and would be massively nerfed and the Leviathan mod would be completely canceled... I lost motivation. Why play OW and hold onto something that has no other game use at all? Just a waste of money and time. (considering that each run still cost 1-2 USD, a fuze on T3S3 for example 15 USD) ...

For free may be players play it... but pay money and to gain nothing at all? Not money, but no gameplay benefits or progress? That's simply not why you play.

I would assume they are mini areas within Brightland Steppes for the MMO. You start at the obelisk and work your way through the different tiers.

Bosses spawn in specific locations with varying difficulties. They've also added barriers that must be removed by completing certain things, story beats for example.

It also has a specific order of operations, you have some freedom, but based on difficulty it tends to steer you a certain direction.

All I know is that I played against Dmitrij and he killed me with a corner turtle team. So, I tried something similar in my next game and got first, which doesn't happen often. Now it definitely does feel like a fight for who gets the turtle, good augments and other Illuvials that compliment.
