Well, this is awkward. After dedicating a significant amount of time, effort, and yes, even money this month, I’ve watched my ranking tumble from around 400th to 3,335th. Why? Because the AirDrop points for milestones decided to vanish into thin air in the final week.
I jumped into those milestones believing I was supporting a fresh and promising game concept. The Web3 aspects were especially appealing—who wouldn’t like the idea of a hobby that might actually give something back financially? It’s like finding out your favorite coffee shop started a rewards program that pays your rent. But changing the rules right at the finish line feels a bit like moving the goalposts in the fourth quarter.
I’ve been a committed player and supporter—I even bought land in the dutch auction and held onto ILV through a 90% drop. None of that shook my confidence as much as this sudden change. Pulling the rug out from under us without so much as a heads-up doesn’t exactly inspire confidence. It makes me wonder if future commitments might be written in disappearing ink as well.
If this change was the result of a vote, I have to question the fairness of that process. It seems like the players who were overly hyped for the game and earned their milestone points in the first season had a say in removing them for the second season obviously because they weren’t entitled to them anymore. Meanwhile, the players with a life and a job and money to put into this project, like myself, who were just getting around to achieving those milestones, are left out in the cold—especially since we weren’t even aware or able to participate in this vote. It’s a bit like the early birds deciding the worms are off-limits for everyone else.
