So I think the error is one I had when withdrawing rewards from the v1 contract. I had to remove the last digit from the long string of how much ILV I’m going to withdraw. So I left like 0.000000006 ILV in the contract.

I think the general idea that you could supplement your costs by selling stuff you don't need from your runs is the underlying idea for how to make it feel like less of a money pit, but for people like me (and maybe you) who just like to collect stuff, i'm not really even trying to sell stuff i don't need.

so that ultimately just means keep putting more money in

being able to transfer fuel directly into OW for use will also help imo.

you pay for fuel to do a run, after paying for fuel to craft shards, then you grind a long run to get a few things that are good stats/capture, only to have 3-4 shards fail (after you grinded and paid to get drone upgrades that increase the % capture) then if you dont get lucky with great illuvials you have to pay for more fuel to level up your illuvials to get XP for fusing, which requires possibly having to buy essences if you didnt get lucky in the run harvesting plants, and EVEN after that you can get terrible RNG and roll bad stats on your fusion.

To add - I understand the selling of some stuff along the way which I have done to make up costs. But people are only going to buy good stat illuvials for arena, which is more RNG in runs to hopefully get one that pays for 3-4 runs

again, I'm not moaning here
