They devalued it. If I know what the system is I would have played probably 10x times less. It is a fun game, but once you caught everything there is no point catching everything again except for airdrop points. What they could do 1 month from now is to give everyone 10 million airdrop points again who played more than 4 hours and then divide the points after. Esentially then everyone would get the same amount regardless of how much they played and this way they would also devalue the time people put in to catch holos. Esentially thats what they did now, except there is a random element of who is going to get high tier holos. For me there is no incentive to play anymore and I feel cheated by the changing of rules so massively midway. So yes, game is fun, testnet people mainly play for airdrop after the first 20-30 hours. And I feel a massive regret now playing 10x more than that. I am sure many people who were grinding will just completely stop playing, like me. That's my feedback. So @inner topaz my food for thought is that when you think about changes in economy not just now but later also, take into consideration what part of playerbase you are alienating from playing the game. If that's the hardcore fan base, please reconsider. Best of luck for the illuvium team, I hope my countless bug reports and feedback helped them! As for myself I need to reprioritize and focus on real life after todays announcement. Best of luck!

I just wish you mentioned long ago that holos and dark holos will be the main part of the airdrop because then I would have played very differently. If it is just a random decision then the timing is awful. Starting this system with mainnet I would have no issue. But having played hundreds of hours and then this happens midway... While I am not really involved in the design or decision process from what I can tell the holo rewards system is Incentivizing continued play. You may be aware the the economy was recently modified to make it significantly more difficult to capture lots of illuvials. So now the points meta is likely going to change to holo and dark holo hunting.

It provides a bit of hope for new players. Even though the early players like yourself do have a significant head start there is hope for new players to actually receive a meaningful portion of the testnet airdrop.

I can assure you that there will be even more additional ways to earn bonus points in the future. I don’t know exactly what that will be (likely to include some forge related stuff).

I doubt the plan is to ever let players think they can simply stop playing because they have such a dramatic lead. The race is still on. Good luck.

Once you hit g, it will change your firing mode for a few seconds. For example, a sword changes your normal shots to homing missiles

Standard Holographic are just a set holographic shine/colour. Dark holo will fade in and out of holographic, with a darker Holographic tone

Hope that makes sense. Basically if you see it fading in and out of standard illuvial > holo shine, that's likely dark holo
