Ok, so here's my opinion on those changes : although I agreed with the "ethereal" illuvials that we could test, I think there is one major aspect that is actually broken by this update : FUN.
The fact that "we can only catch what we see" is basically making "chasing/scanning" illuvials COMPLETLY irrelevant, at least for people trying to complete their collection.
I still have quite a lot of things to catch / find, and there was a thrill at each scan, waiting to see if I could catch something new. Now it's gone.

I played all beta in the private version, with already ethereal illuvials but the possibility to catch only 3 of them randomly (including the one we chase). This balance was better.
Now the game is a LOT more grindy / boring :/

I don't like this ethereal mode. I have no idea why so many voted for it. Changes the game dynamics so much. Imagine this is what it is like once the real launch. ngl I liked the part of what you see is what you get since I don't have to explore the whole map without my worry kicking in that there might be an Ophisto inside the illuvial that I didn't bother chasing. Now I'll be more focused on what to do inside the stage (mining/harvest/hunting).

I just hope that the master should still be adjusted like if you are gonna increase the cost for the master shard, might as well makes the other shards more reliable or kinda stronger at least, since it is longer and pricey now to craft one master shard especially for mainnet.

I want the best possible game at release, balanced, difficult, which helps having a good economy where illuvials have their right value on the market. I think overall it was much needed for the game. Inflation hit the marketplace way too fast. For the testnet version, it sucks if you are not ahead of everyone else, but at the same time, they need to build the game for the release, and that's what the testnet version is for. to be honest to add something to this.
i would prefer something like the pokemon style:
you dont know which illuvial you encounter and there will be only 2 or 3 of them when you go into a fight. it wouldnt be a too hard fight.
if you have won you can try to catch them or choose to receive a second wave of illuvials with random illuvials again but you see which ones will come.
(a little bit like the time when other pokemon came to help out in wild fights)
But this time more illuvials and so it is a harder fight. This will make more sense to fight in the overworld and for me it adds fun.

i feel you. the point of the game is to catch the illuvials. not fight big beefed up ghosts that you cant catch and is 2x as strong. I rather fight the same illuvial 100 times than to fight a stage 3, if it means i can catch it. To me, seems to take the value out of the run. I will give my 2 cents. This update gameplay/fun wise is not really great. The game right now for me feels like alot of flying around, shooting rocks and possible fighting maybe once every few runs unless I'm leveling illuvials. The gameplay for me even if I wasn't a fan of creature capture games was addictive, fun in terms of scaning every encounter,searching for that rare t5 or t4 illuvial. As the gameplay stands now I don't see myself playing the game longterm because the gameplay is just not there. (I'm not even going to go in to the disadvantages beta vs us that weren't lucky to get the key). That "wow" feeling is just not there for me to stick to the gameplay as it stands right now.

So after around 3 hours of playing Im writing my feedback on the update:

Ethereal Illuvials are a great idea to reduce the inflation of illuvials which is great but it also made the game into a repeating running simulator
I need only a few more (6-8) stage3 illuvials to have them all and since the update i went on 10-15 runs and saw ZERO stage3 illuvials of any tier and since you need 57k exp to fuse a stage3 you need 3 stage2 (which are also very rare now I saw maybe 5-10 of them in these runs) and around a week to just level them to the required exp

Overall the idea was good but I think the implementation currently is bad

you cant rly refer to pool about this changes because there was no info that you will be able to catch only 1 alluvial ... this kills the game ,, before i hunt 20x per run now 1 hunt in 6 runs ... we want hunt and not just fly arount ..thats pretty boring

I think your running time is useless. Unless every minute you gain exp from mining, capturing. I check the leaderboards, im almost playing 12 hours straight but the leaderboard says I only played about 40 mins? With 80k-ish points lol
