Currently the Testnet / Sandbox (Sandbox.Illuvium.io) uses IMX Passport, so you will need to create an IMX Passport to get started and play.

The Illuvium.io Production Environment doesn't have the IMX passport integration yet, but it will once the game launches on mainnet.

You will be able to merge your existing account with your passport.

you can earn bonus points by capturing or fusing Illuvials to their specific stage. And then i think you need to hold each of them.

So not buying but fusing is OK. In the end you will either need to catch the Stage 2 or 3, or fuse them. So you may need 13 illuvials of each stage 1 dor that. Thats 78 illuvials in total!
