Well when the team builder gets released I would say we are a couple weeks away from pvp. Personally I would like to see the team builder come out 1 week before pvp. Because you can only theory craft so much without testing it. But I have a feeling the team builder will be out 2-3 weeks before we see pvp. I hope I am wrong.

I think it can be, yeah, but it's SUPER important to get public testing in prior to going live. It's a fine line though IMO, if we were to have off-chain free with full access to assets for too long, that could be a bit of a shock when we go live.

The other thing is that we'll want to have some fixes, improvements, possibly new Illuvials, etc. in Open Beta to further differentiate the experience from PB3. Ownership is also a big deal.

A web2 comparison is how some early access games are cheap when they are very early, and get more expensive as the developer gets closer to completing their "1.0" version of the game.

Factorio is a good example of that, I can find some more if you're interested.

Theorycrafting decks is good for the tryhards, avg person will just lose badly because they didn’t look up hours of content and theorycraft stuff I think at least.
Also prob better to have all the social media sharing and stuff when PvP is out and not before

in the new augment system with bidding etc

It is a battle royal, similar to poker, you play for the best outcome given the things you are dealt with

Best players are rather consistently doing well in tournaments and on ladder in tft btw, winning every game doesn’t work, good placements on average is hyper skill dependent

PvP looks more akin to a TCG than TFT imo. I expect to have to deal with the same challenges as I would in God's unchained for example.

there is no card draw rng like in TCG, I think it is pretty much entirely new thing
like lots of TCG balance is around sometimes drawing powerfull cards, sometimes not, sometimes other guy has counter, sometimes not
