Good example, right now I'm helping finishing the development of a restaurant and we are in the plating part of the process, this enhances the experience of the clients but no matter how pretty it looks if the food is shit or there is no food then you got no long term restaurant

Chunk studios is building a openworld monster catcher with pvp battles. You can build out your land as well to collect resources.

Defimons let's you wander a world, catch mons and build out your apartment.

Kuroro beasts is another good looking pixel monster catcher.

Illuvium looks hot and top end, I'm just asking questions and trying to find out what's super special about this other than big VC backing and hype over hot looking graphics because that's what I am seeing.

I'lll tell you what hooks me into illuvium. I've awlways been a fan of card games but hated the fact that there was no real battle between the monsters, then autobattlers got me hooked because you fill that gap. Illluvium even in it's current state is a more enjoyable autoobattler. Now add the fact of the crazy grind in OW to get your cards (illuvials, augments, etc) to build yor deck, you start developing a connection with your main character (that is also a piece of the autobattler) and cards. I really enjoy it.......give it a good try and see if it's your cup of tea or not

The main attraction for me at first was the NFT aspect of collecting creatures. However, for a web2 audience, that doesn't really matter at all. The key elements that matter more are the depth of the auto battler, which has the potential to eliminate the RNG issues common in the genre. If executed well, the PVP experience will be immensely enjoyable with 8-12 minute games that maintain constant engagement and prevent frustration from long drawn out matches where you slowly lose for 20-30 minutes. The synergies between classes and affinities excite me for deck-building, and theory crafting the perfect build will be as enjoyable as playing the game itself. The hyper system allows for strategic gameplay and mind games, which is my favorite part in any game. Illuvium's PVP surpasses other auto battlers and stands out for these reasons.

same in card games, I give you that MTG is one of the worse ones with Draw RNG and just loosing due to that with no player impact, but I know people who were active in the MTG Top Player league and they did reasure me that the difference in those and some random decent player is insane and the random guy might take a game, maybe even a match sure, but won´t ever acomplish anything meaningful in any competition with multiple matches, chances for that are lower than making lots of money in lottery

It's cool and I appreciate being able to have a nice debate. I am trying to like this project and perhaps I'm just salty from all the previous bad projects BUT I see a lot of pushy hyped up marketing using a lot of the same recycled MVP advertising.

The recent disk plate promo did not go near as well as planned and the extension seemed like a grab for more money. I bought one on the first day because they looked cool but was pretty disappointed once I learned how many looked alike. I did get decent stats so I'm happy with it and do like my character.

Is there a channel that shows monthly operating costs for the project and where funds are being allocated? Project godjira is the only project I have seen do that and sets them tiers above everyone else for transparency, imo.

People like things they already know.
Popular music is popular because it follows a standard theme within a culture.

I agree there is so much to do in overworld some may choose just to explore PVE and all the things overworld has to offer sell whatever they make on the Illuvidex. IMO That has always be the centerpiece of the of the three arena and Zero are there as support overworld

there are some that cannot see beyond Bias the cannot seem to see be on there opinion and belive it as fact.

Being involved in various games and forums over the decades here are always those who whine about having to go though the PVE part oft he game in order to get to "PVP" and normally they always think they are the "glue" that holds the game together

Totally agree that overworld is the nucleus. They have said illuvials will be in every game and the only place to catch them will be overworld. Also in order to get that deep connection to the nft that grant and the art team is trying to do will be in in the overworld. OW is the glue to the ecosystem.

PVP is critical if we want esports and streaming.

But if you ask me what game is the most important to be successful for the longevity of Illuvium it is OW. Im confident the team will get there as they know there is room for improvement on it and they are doing it!

I understand that though many of us here are investors before we are gamers.

We only have one shot of a release and many will judge Illuvium from the initial open beta.

Token price may go up or down based on its success as most of the cards are revealed.

The team is continuing to kick goals. They know that we currently don’t have an addicting game on our hands because it lacks certain elements that are later in the pipeline.

What if we play the PB4 and decide it’s not ready for the open market? It’s a possibility.

I don't know. There is always the possibility it won't do well.
It's a risk we are all taking with web3 gaming. Not just illuvium.
It's a hard line to walk, when there are so many pressures from all angles. If this wasn't a DAO and being built by the team solely it would be different.

Investment was a capital raise so again a risk and the knowledge investments would need to be locked up.

I look at other up coming games like, shrapnel, Civitas and Arza games. I believe they are all top quality. For me Illuvium is on par, different genres, with these games. However they have differing ways about doing things.

There is no way of knowing which is on the money. Maybe they all will be.
I also go by how I feel about the games so far.

When I play all 3. It is super immersive. Like I was standing on a plant in the overworld and thought, wow I know this plant I've been cutting them down in Illuvium zero.

When I play or watch Arena I'm like damn I need to get that illuvial, or I learn how to play them better to capture in the overworld. I can't even imagine how it will feel when I'm playing the ones I've caught, or someone wants to buy one.

Community pressure is real and I don't believe holding it back will do illuvium any favours.
So far I believe they have the balance right.

I remember my friends saying ESO was pretty base when they started playing, (from the beginning, me 4 years.)
Now it's something different entirely.

I see no problem with games progressing over time.

Yes pvp and sports have their place at the appropriate time after main launch

The primary concerns is its more important for Marketing to establish is establishing Overworld as the Gateway and crown jewel so to speak as I believe personally more people will be interested in the open world exploration / pve/ and actually playing a game that brings them in real world value for the player and the DAO since the main income of the DAO stakers and and land owners will be people buying Fuel for Runs in T1-T5 areas as well as other thing people will need fuel for.

AFAIK - the last discussions on the subject were that survival and the arenas are going to be just for "fun" ( now that Leviathan betting future is dubious) and anything of significant will be restricted to major tournaments and behind the t1- t5 pay wall . So until there is a "main event" for people to use thie decks with Pvp in itself and given the current "complexity and depth" of the auto "chess?" "battler?" ( not a fan) is nothing more than a place to practice and for the niche of people that do find it fun and does not help the DAO financially and contribute to Revdis or the %5 of fuels sales. While revDIS will benefit from secondary sales of people skipping the OW experience landowners will not .

So really In all ways that matter I believe prioritizing pvp in any marketing aspect would be a wrong move as I believe the success is to build a base of people already knowledge of WEB3 to get the ball rolling , once we have momentum and web 2 / cyrpto haters etc people realize that this is the real and the future then in time we will get mainstream and this will becaome the benchmark other Web 3 games are judged by.

It's different strokes for different folks. You all can argue which game is the center if illuvium all you want but until the game is out and we get the numbers of dau from the team for each game mode then whatever people say at the end of the day is purely opinion and speculation.

I made a blog post about this more than a year ago. I believe it addresses all this. The summary is that we want to hit multiple types of people.

Some love collecting. For them doing runs is the main thing. For others they want to feel part of the world, they will like the lore and play to explore the regions and expansions.

For a large number of people they need a reason to collect decks. Arena is for them. Later we will have many games which required “decks”
