Listen, I'm 100% for open governance, and I do think he should be allowed to run, but I think anyone rational can understand that including people in the community who have made threats like that is not an option. It's not on the people who threats are being made against to know whether the person is serious, or has the information.

It's on the person making those threats to not get drunk and threaten to do that kind of thing.

Important points around Gov V2 are that it’s a tiered council structure for a reason. An LIP would need to get through the community subcouncil, one of the specialized sub-councils and then the IMC. I’m very confident that we’re decentralized enough that no organization can buy enough influence to control that process. Additionally, any council members are expected to recuse themselves on any votes or decisions that they potentially have a conflict of interest in. In the Ethlizards partnership example, Kieran and I both recused ourself from the discussion and the rest of the council (majority of whom are not Ethlizards) supported. If a sub-council votes to make decision like this that appears to be biased, we have both IMC and community options to remove council members who can’t follow standard ethical practices.

If @dusty plank is any sort of indication, I’d be happy to have more mods on the council. He always has the strongest pulse on the community and is regularly bringing up topics and points of view because he sees and hears so much. I didn’t really know him before this Epoch but have been incredibly impressed with his engagement, knowledge and consideration of all the topics at hand.

The DAO is made up of people pursuing a common goal. Their voting power comes from how invested they are in the DAO. It is led by people that are invested and get support by the majority. With quadratic voting high investment has less power so the majority is a mix investment amount and popular vote. This leads to people voting in a mix of the best interest of their selfish monetary motives and the goal of the DAO. Your main point might have some validity, but your examples are not all well researched in how gov v2 is setup and many things were put in place to help mitigate.
