This is my current working theory on how captures work.

I think that inreasing capture power (via gear or shards) can reduce Failure chance to nigh on 0, but I think escape is a separate outcome that doesn't care about capture power.

So you might have rolled like, a 1/10 repeatedly.

I have 80% capture power and I use 1 tier lower shards most of the time and still have success capturing

Chance of escape is pretty high imo, in the event of a failed capture I think escape chance is like 60-70%

Important to talk in correct terms. Teenantee is a stage 2 Illuvial but TIER 1. Higher stage Illuvials should be much tougher to capture than a stage 1. So the least chance to capture something should be a stage 3 Tier 5 Illuvial.

Just based on what I've seen and what Chrix mentioned, that a large portion of his failures with 80 capture power were escapes, it could be a separate outcome

Even with my high capture power, they escape really often but I just happen to have high success capture rate so they dont even have a chance to escape in the first place.

a 10-20% escape chance reduction from a 50-60% chance of escape isnt too much, might as well increase capture power to get it one try instead

Yeah, it probably depends as well what you're trying to capture, and with what shard. Like, capture power would be disproportionately better to use with lower tier shards capturing higher tier Illuvials, because a normal failure would be a big chunk of the outcome. Capturing a T4 with a T5 shard, escape chance could be a bigger chunk of the negative outcome, so reducing that could be better.

1) How do I get more shards?

Harvest ore deposits for a chance to get uncured shards. Then, go back to Sanctum Mesa, where you can cure shards at the Forge. Finally, withdraw the shards from your locker to your inventory.

2) How do I get components?

Use deconstruct at the Forge. If you want a weapon component, deconstruct a weapon. If you want an armor component, deconstruct an armor. The lowest level of each type can be constructed without needing a component.

3) My starting shards aren't working on T1+ Illuvials!

You can't use a T0 shard on T1+ Illuvials.

4) I finished a travel cycle and my stuff is gone! Where's all my stuff?

Everything you gather or capture in a travel cycle gets transferred to the locker storage automatically.

5) I cured shards at the Forge, but they aren't in my inventory, where did they go?

Crafted items gets transferred to the locker storage automatically, you need to move them to your inventory to be able to use them in travel cycles.

6) How do I remove an Illuvial from my deck?

Go to your locker storage and open it (press "E"), open inventory (press "I") and click on the Illuvial to transfer it into storage.

7) Illuvial Orbs (Wake) keep disappearing! Why is this?

Wake can disappear for 2 reasons. If you get too close to a Wake, it will despawn. If you miss your shot at a Wake, it will despawn. Be careful with your aim, you can jump and aim to make time move slower.

Fallen Ranger- a NPC, used to be a ranger but now a vessel to a parasite and now hunting rangers looking for illuvium. They're also organized bunch so be careful. Makes gathering of resources and hunting ilv challenging.

It would destroy the whole currency and balance of the game if we got to keep what we’ve gathered in the beta. It’s free for us to travel around and capture Illuvials/mining during beta and the 5000 crypton is reset every day at 00.00 UTC. Crypton (the green fuel used for travelling) is not free normally and you have to pay to travel to stage 1, 2 and 3. You have to play Illuvium zero (mobile game) to gather crypton or buy it with sILV2 or ETH. So can’t really give any good reasons why we should keep any assets.

Curing shards is also free atm. That and a lot of other things will have additional levels to them to even be possible to craft that’s not implemented atm.

I see. The in game stuff will be minted on IMX. The project and sometimes the marketplace get the trading fee. There’s no fee that goes to the original minter. They just get to sell it if they want.

Imx is a layer 2 chain that uses ethereum wallets to control the assets on the imx network. If you hold something On imx it is as much on your wallet as anything on the ethereum mainnet. But yes it is possible to bring the assets minted on IMX to ethereum mainnet (and back again later as well). It’s a zkRollup

This is honestly something I don’t know the answer to but I suspect that since the contracts are already on mainnet for the rollups then I’d imagine it would be possible to do it even if IMX network was not maintained. There are much more knowledgeable people than me on stuff like this though.

Yea I mean it's a legit concern for crypto in general, I would say with all this emerging tech its a concern though. Although I think IMX is pretty far ahead and legit considering everything they have done and are doing. We work very closely with them as well obviously and the team has chosen IMX for a reason.
