To be honest, illuvium just need to focus on ensuring their autobattler is better than TFT both for the casual player and esports

Once that is achieved, esports people & orgs will want to come over to illuvium rather than ILV needing to reach out to them

Kieran uses other AAA game studios release timing windows quite often (3-5 years), BTC halving is another thing to take in account (really all of the macroeconomic environment), as I'm sure they have a strategy, along with them continuously acquiring capital to stay afloat and produce a superior product (selling the rest of the land, Illuvitars, (slowly disbursing back to investors) and acquiring a solid foundation of real investors. Real money will come from the finished product being great. People will need there dopamine fix here and there, but they also need to keep you in anticipation. Infrequency is good every now and then. Although, Video games are great in recessionary markets. You need to have a long time horizon for great things.

Eventually overworld will become its own standalone game and wont even be that catered purely to tft's audience (it isnt really much now either), it can be a huge mix of competitive players/people who want to explore and collect creatures

But it doesn’t have to last forever to launch it. I was waiting lost arc release for 8 years and didn t like as there were lot of new games out better then LA. Part of TFT being fun as hell is the fact that you roll the dice multiple times a turn to get really impactful units. Removing that with illuvium makes it feel like an entirely different style of game, even though they are both autobattlers. IMO they won't be that comparable when it's all said and done.

I think rolling through 30 gold in one turn hoping to get the one unit you need but never seeing it is by far one of the WORST parts of TFT. We've had quite a few high level players from TFT and DOTA Underlords make the switch over to Illuvium and never have I seen someone say "Man I really miss not being able to get the units I want."

That's kind of why I think it's such a different game, it's all about economy/odds where you only need to get top 4 in a room. It's almost more comparable to poker in that aspect. I'm one of those people switching over to Illuvium, even though I still play TFT as well.
