Seeing a lot of messages regarding "X hours to find T5". We currently expect there to be ~2 T5 Stage 1 per Stage 3 run on average, if this is wildly off after rigorous testing and analysis, we will adjust.
But obviously, you have to find them, they won't fall into your lap as much anymore after a few scans

Regarding higher illuvial stages, we made they much more rare because we want to make the fusing and levelling path more viable while keeping rarity a factor in prep for mainnet.
Unfortunately the levelling UI we have for this didn't make this release. But playing Ascendant should give you some really good XP as well even though we don't show it as well as we want to yet (at all really lol).
We want future features to play into giving XP as well and looking to tune the XP gained or the XP needed to make it feel good now that the levelling path is an option in prep for mainnet release

Lastly regarding airdrop, we are hearing the feedback and looking to fix some bugs before we address said feedback, stay tuned

I have a suggestion regarding the problem of people who have only bought and not hunted Illuvials. For the Catch Them All event it should be valid since it was established before the event, but due to the abuse of the faucet and multiwallet the additional points for catching more than 1 line of a certain Tier this should only apply to those caught. I don't really get the hate for ethereals.

1. Enabling more interesting encounters. You actually have to fight against an enemy team and not just randomly placed units with 0 synergies
2. It allows the team to balance the exp/economy. Now they can tweak the amount of exp an encounter gives by just putting in high MP units or increasing their level without giving away too many high level/high stage Iluvials to the player. Without ethereals they would be limited by alot what can be put into an encounter
3. Enabling the possibility to populate the OW more. In the beginning everyone was complaining that OW is too empty. Now they reduce the catchable Illuvials per encounter and are actually able to put alot of Illuvials into the OW and people complain again
4. Putting high tier/stage Illuvials into the OW. With ethereals you can actually put more higher stage Illuvials into the OW and not hide them behind an encounter. With the fact that OW combat is coming it will (hopefully) be way more exciting fighting a high stage Illuvial in OW instead of stomping archies all day.

And what are the disadvantages about that? People complaining that they don't have encounters full of 10+ filler Illuvials nobody catches anymore after 1 week of gameplay.
Let me say that. All the people complaining now that they think they find less T5 (wether it is true or not) are the people that are either only here for the money and don't care about the game or they will be the same people that complain after release that their T5 are worthless because you find multiple of them in every run.

I just have to say I have yet to hear a good reason against ethereals.

Those are debuffs from failing shard integrity.

As you battle and fight with your illuvials, their integrity drops. They will start fighting poorly or are unable to fight when the integrity fails. The flat turning plants allow you to refill it.

Nice, going down the path of having to work with your Illuvials instead of just catch them is 100% the right choice! Very much into this.
I just believe that some people react strongly to this because a fused Ophisto (and so on) doesn't count for the raffle. Maybe, that should change starting from tomorrow or so 🙂

1. The encounters are way easier with ethereals and they dont seem to have more synergies, its still random. If they could actually have a way to make it more of a complete team (like a premade team) than it would be better.
2. Agree with economy control if thats what they said but it only really effects how much stage 1 low tiers spawn.
3. I don't see how it effects populating OW unless you want to reduce the amount of catchable low tier stage 1s in each run, if so, than i can see why
4. You can just as easily populate OW with having the rarest illuvial in the encounter be the one more likely to show in OW to hunt. Nothing forcing them to hide them within encounters.

From my point of view this has nothing to do with T5 spawn rate, thats a different thing and i dont even think its less because of the changes (if it is, i think its more bonding curve).

I guess its subjective if you prefer to fight high stage illuvials that are ethereal (i also think it just looks bad) or 10-13 illuvials that are mostly stage 1s but have the encounter harder and have more choice in what you catch.

I just prefer no ethereals cause they look bad, easier to beat and take away from the first moment you see a stage 3 within an encounter. Totally ok with it staying if its better for the team and obviously there are a lot that seem to like it. I may also be sick of answering "why are they grey and why cant i catch them" haha

That for sure is a bit of a problem right now. The game changes into a path on which higher stage Illuvials are rarer and you have to work more with your Illuvials. That is awesome! It has to be that way. Sadly, that means getting airdrop points or raffle tickets is getting more difficult but that shouldn't be the important part!
Maybe, they can adjust fusion to count as raffle tickets starting from day x. That would lessen the missplaced feedback a little, I guess.

1. At least they have synergies now and can be improved. For me I have 3 or 5 of a class/affinity in an encounter. I can't think of having that before consistently. Or having multiple synergies and not only a single one. But it is obvious that they did not put too much effort in making actual teams because that is the next step after they made sure that ethereals will make it in the game at all. They are only easier now because you have less enemies and that (damage) encounter mods don't affect as many Illuvials as before. But without any mods you actually have a higher base difficulty that wasn't there before.
2. I don't really understand what you mean by that. But they now have the encounter composition decoupled from the spawn rate because they can put every illuvial in an encounter (for fighting/exp purpose) and don't have to worry that too many higher stage Illuvials are caught.
3. Before you could catch ~10 Illuvials per encounter. Let's asume we have 10 Illuvials running in OW. That's 100 illuvials per run. Now we only have 3 illuvials per encounter. This means they can increase the Illuvials in OW to 33 which is over 3x more Illuvials running in OW. If they would populate the OW with 30 encounter and 10 Illuvials each they would create an imbalance between travel cost/value from each travel. And if the idea is to have 2 T5 per run (like stated above) then they would have to basically spawn 2 good Illuvials and like 298 low tier nobody wants. It is all a balance issue.
4. I think nobody wants to scan an encounter to get 100% worse Illuvials than the one they saw in OW. All arguments I hear in favour of scanning is people want to gamble for good stuff in an encounter.

So I partly agree. They look bad. The difficulty is no encounter issue (more a encounter mod issue).

it works the same way as before. The greyed out Illuvials are not real ones. So instead of having encounter full of lynxes you get now greyed ones to make the fight more interesting. But those are not supposed to be caught. The rest works the same. Walk around and catch what you find.

First, you must find the shard itself, then fuse it (which costs quite a lot for Tier 5).
AND THEN they get destroyed because the capture rate on a Tier5 is 43%—so, like burning, I don't know, a 50€ paper for nothing.

From an economic wise perspective, if this goes live like that - just because some people complained about Master shards (now they are 10x times as expensive as before), this won't last long till a shitstorm breaks out in regards to shards.

Yeah, but it's not like everything in Illuvium is already a gamble - just being lucky, and you capture your photo with a single Tier5 shard (none master).
Well, most aren't so lucky, and just because you are, it doesn't mean everyone is going to have such an experience, which won't leave a good note for the whole game in general from the mass audience.

It is not bad. I got 60% on T5 stage 1. And it is not hard to get multiple catch tries. And since the idea is to get ~2 T5 per stage 3 run it is not even bad if you miss one. You get plenty of chances. Only high stage T5 are hard to get. But they are not supposed to be instant catches every time you see one

I haven't seen anything in this direction. The only thing that has happened so far, if I see it correctly, is that they have fixed the bug for capture rates.
So now it's truly just 43% - whatever it was before.
However, the fact that first of all, you need to find one and then need another 2400 Hyperion and so on just to see it go into hot air at the end of the day isn't fun at all - I'd rather go to play poker with this money were it's true PVP and not gamble casino were the house mostly (Illuvium Labs) wins.

Yeah, there we go; it's a casino, and there are no pack openings anymore. Well, it is, but in the end, you do not get the full pack.
You just get 3x random Illuvials from the encounter, which you are allowed to capture (not to forget if you get a single one with this capture rate).

I actually just disagree with Master Shards being that dirt cheap using 2 Resplendents only for 100% capture rate. It just doesn't make sense in the real game. As a player, do I prefer EASIER crafting of Master Shards? Yes. But is it weirdly easy to craft Master Shards? Also yes.

I like Master Shards being super expensive now simply because I can catch almost everything using Resplendents (except maybe T5S2s and T5S3s), so Master Shards are supposed to be that rare shard used for only special occassions (like T5S3s).

you know what the difference is between 2 days ago and today?? We are getting closer to the REAL game and not the beta trials. Did you think you'd find 1000001 T5S3s and just pump master shards like we did in the last 3 weeks? the idea of people even having T5s should be extremely rare and EXPENSIVE, thats the point of the game when its fully released... The team is slowly tightening the "party" and making the game a bit more realistic. with that being said, the issue here is that since there was a CRAZY capturing frenzy for a few weeks, it completely destroyed the bonding curve, which now will make it even harder to see how the game will work when released.

Considering that it takes me 5 stage3 runs to get even to 20 Resplendet Shards to craft a single Master shard is pretty impressive change just cause a few cried at the beginning about Master shards.
We had these extremes in patches (arena), and they weren't good. Almost nobody plays arena anymore now since there are no more rewards - what happens once the market is satisfied with enough Illuvials for a limited number of players (who are able to afford to play)? Well, simple economics: if there's nobody asking for your Illuvials, then prices will plummet, and you won't make even a break even if you are not lucky getting a super rare one (which most won't be); otherwise, casinos would be bankrupt by now.
The prime example of this is Illuvium Beyond (Profile Pictures), besides the super rare once the others are worthless.

Remember only one thing in the entire crypto gaming : there are no players. There are only people wanted to play to earn money. Till we don’t have enough players that are here to collect and play the games any web3 games will disappear. Why ? Because decisions are taken to minimize supply make OG more OG with advantages that take money from players. But if there are no players there are no demand. What is better ? A little more supply to attract more players and increase demands or less supply, higher amount of money to play for less and less demands ?

not really. everyone progress slower at this point. So you don't need as many airdrop points in the end because now less total airdrop points will be accumulated. For the hunt event it might impact it a bit. But we don't know the real drop chances. We are so far in the bonding curve that they are now way lower than they were at the beginning anyway. So hard to compare

Caveman had 2 full T5 sets on day 1 of the airdrop. you think he slowed down? there's 0 chance to catch up with him now and thats why the airdrop event is in a big problem. those who did indeed grind early will forever have that massive advantage. can the bottom still fight each other? sure... but reaching the top is near impossible now
