#WORKSHOP REPORTING

so now the case would be if unfortunately AI caused this drama
or isnowx is lying about the yet-to-be-determined nature of copying
I asked a lot about the script, isnowx can't explain many of that, but he is vibe coding so that's acceptable
I asked if he have local workflow history, he didn't have that feature turned on so he have very limited records
only thing that can have enough difference is slime library
so I came up the proposal to compare his slime library which is an edited version from that 3 years old repo, with Fish's own library used and delivered in mods
because Fish only distributed that via workshop, rather than a publicly available platform, AI can't get the source code
also the service terms of the AI assisted coding service also claimed that AI returns in code patterns rather than copying
so if there would be large sections of slime library files from isnowx being same as that from Fish's mod, isnowx is copying
I also said it's better to get a version before isnowx released his mod just in case it's the otherway around, but isnowx seems quite confident
Whatttt, thats so stupid. Update me on whats going on in the future

You're responsible for the code your LLM slops out, if it wholesale reuses code from online repositories without proper credit then you're the one at fault
(whether you can read the code or not)
this is where a lot of 'vibe coders' have their downfall, using black box tools that aren't liable for their output with no ability to moderate the code produced
even github copilot says it's for entertainment use only in its TOS that no one reads
Yeesh I have a migraine reading all that

just a local copy with "version 2", no scripts updated to 2.0.0, zero credits given in steam or in files.

He used my FPV drone model without my permission. He just changed the colors in the vox file to try to bypass the workshop policy.

He used my Shahed drone model without my permission. He just changed the colors in the vox file to try to bypass the workshop policy.
I asked the uploader not to use my model since he didn't have my permission, but he uploaded the mods again
The community likes these two mods, and I can’t just delete them because someone told me to. They are not simply complete reuploads of your mod, neither the first one nor the second one. I understand that you were unhappy about the models being taken from your mods. However, someone offered to help me with that and sent me different models. Whether those models are still similar or not is not really something I can judge or worry about too much, because the code is not yours, and I have put my own work, time, and resources into these mods. Also, I personally cannot create completely original models for these mods right now. I have a real job, I have studies, and I also need to deal with real life. I do not have the time or the desire, either now or in the future, to spend more time making different models for these drones. At the same time, these drones are not something you invented. Both the Shahed and FPV drones are real things that exist in real life, so they cannot look completely different just for the sake of being different. Regarding the interceptor drone specifically, I can partly agree that its model could maybe be changed or improved at some point in the future. But as for the Shahed, I honestly do not know what else can be done, because a Shahed is a Shahed. At this point, I think it is better to let the Teardown developers, Steam, Valve support, or whoever is responsible decide how this should be handled. I tried to contact you personally, but you chose to ignore me. Because of that, I honestly do not see a reason to keep trying to resolve this privately.
check the script
bro is so busy that he can get a brand new script done but not even a single model which doesn't even require much testing and debugging in game
🥀
if the devs decide to delete my mods, please notify me so I'll just hide them, friend of mine wants to make his own models for my mods anyway
I like how "I'm busy" is apparently an acceptable excuse for ripping off models
But he’s got a life man, he can’t be expected to sit down for 30 frickin minutes to model something >:(

“The community likes these two mods” as they have ai thumbnails and descriptions and probably like a couple downloads
10k subs = "couple", about ai thumbnails I don't even hide it even though it's not generated from zero, ai just enhanced in-game screenshots that I've made
After all, if the thumbnail doesn’t grab people’s attention, the mod page will naturally get fewer views, lol.
This back and forth isn’t going to resolve this conflict.
@swift forge
What do you suggest? This sort of issue on the topics of copyright and/or stealing seems to be on the rise, without resolutions :(
lets see tomorrow
or you could be like everyone else and took a good screenshot that highlights "your" mod
instead of slopifying it

I understand that situations like this are frustrating, but as parkingmeter mentioned above, this back and forth isn’t leading anywhere.
From our side, we can step in when something is a clear, direct copy or reupload. However, in cases like this, where there are claims about reused assets, code or similarities but the mods are also different, it becomes much harder for us (me) to assess.
My role here isn’t to act as a copyright investigator. We’ve seen more of these situations lately and they’re becoming more complex; it’s not just full reuploads anymore, but cases involving parts of code or assets being reused. That makes it much harder to verify what’s right or wrong.
That’s why we now have to rely on the proper process. If you’re unable to come to an agreement, the correct and intended process is for Okidoki to go through Steam’s official DMCA system which I mentioned in the https://discord.com/channels/760105076755922996/760111890473943040 channel not too long ago. That process is specifically designed to handle copyright and ownership claims and ensures that things are handled properly and fairly.
Please also keep discussions here respectful and avoid personal remarks while situations like this are ongoing. 🙏🏼
Thank you, Danny
Okay, I think that's fair
On my low-end 2018 pc it's kinda hard tbh
the thief becomes the robbed
Since when borrowing and modifying assets is the same as just reuploading someone else's mod?
Funny guy
he borrowed and modified your UI assets
I'd already let Tomahawk know, but since the copy is still up, figured I'd report it here too for the record. Pretty blatant carbon-copy, didn't even change the author in info.txt; preview.png and preview2.png are identical too. Copy claims "My first original character model", yet animdata.bin is a byte-for-byte copy of Tomahawk's (same sha256sum even). model.vox has an identical file-size, but a different sha256sum; so I ran a hex-diff, and there is a single byte that has been altered (offset: 9F4F, 80 -> 78). ♻️

@sudden rapids iirc the original sashed drone strike got taken down because it stole your assets right? These are both uploads.
Maybe you are blind, but the shahed mod has different models now, it can be seen on the screenshots

Basicaly reskins of my mods with added functionality, pretty sure it uses assets from other mods too. I wouldn't mind if the author gave credit to the modders whose work he uses, instead he claims its entirely his and makes groundless counter accusations in the comments
