My problem with the dark souls games was always that if I was stuck on a boss, I couldn't just grind the boss. I had to run back for like an eternity die to some bullshit enemy when I was just going to the boss

I’m gonna have a guess… you die, or almost die and end up in a forgotten land with little to no memory of your life before, you are then given little to no clue where to go first so you just explore until you find something that works, you kill a bunch of stuff. You die a bunch of times, you resurrect and do it all over again. Sound about right?

It wasn't in full development for very long tbh, around 4.5 years or so. Which isn't short, but they also had a lot of management issues + rewriting the story at some point. No wonder it turned out the way that it did. I still had a lot of fun with it though
